Online Doctors Prescriptions Online Care Anywhere®

The next time you need to be seen by a doctor, avoid the urgent care waiting room with a free online doctor visit. Visit Online Care Anywhere from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota for a free chat with a doctor (up to a $45 value) with coupon code HOLIDAYHEALTH through 1/31/14.

This code works whether or not you have health insurance and you can even get a prescription from this doctor visit.

What Can You Be Treated For?

The board-certified physicians at Online Care Anywhere provide consultations and treatment for a variety of common conditions, including:

  • overly dry winter skin, as well as acne, rashes and skin conditions
  • recommendations for maintaining health and wellness in the new year
  • refills for many common medications
  • fast-working prescriptions for bladder infections
  • medical advice for an aging parent or sick child

One huge perk I see to this is that there’s no waiting – you can be seen 24/7, 365 days a year. No need to sit in urgent care for several hours when all you have to do is check in with a doctor on your computer, phone or tablet. It’s today’s version of a “house call.”

Here’s a preview of what you can expect to see when you begin your doctor’s visit (see above). You’ll register or sign in, choose a doctor and start a conversation using video or secure text chat, then get a diagnosis, prescription if needed and follow-up care. The chat takes about 10 minutes.

Who Can Use This?

To use Online Care Anywhere, you must be physically located in a state where they have a licensed doctor; to get a prescription, you must be located in a state where their doctors are legally able to prescribe medication online. Check their Service Map to see what services residents in your state can use.

Check their FAQ for more information. Once you’re ready, don’t forget to use the coupon code HOLIDAYHEALTH to make your visit 100% free.

About Carrie Rocha

I am passionate about helping people live within their means so they can get out and stay out of debt. I live in Minneapolis, MN with my husband and two little girls.

  1. My husband used this once when he had a bad cold. It was a big timesaver for him. But people need to be careful with using services like these. For example, I recently went into my doctor as I was so sure I had bronchitis. Turns out that after listening to my lungs he told me I had pneumonia. There is no way the online doc would have been able to correctly diagnose me. Just a word of caution….

  2. The website isn’t working this second, at least in my Chrome browser, but check out Retrace Health – In-Home doctor visits. First visit is free. Subsequent visits are $90/visit. Specifically founded for people who have high deductible insurance or no insurance at all.

  3. When I Tried to do a “Virtuwell” online visit on my IPad, I got a message that my browser does not support their site, so they give you a code for a free visit, because of the inconvenience. Might be worth it if you have a big co-pay or no insurance. Just try to log in from an Apple product and then get the free code and go to a desktop computer.
