The latest Twin Cities Deals include a couple of great theatre deals, a free festival, and a free way to revive some of those broken things around your house.

Your turn: Will you be seeing Joseph?

Free Kid’s Ticket to Joseph at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres
Here’s a great deal on a favorite show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamcoatChanhassen Dinner Theatres is offering a free kid’s dinner and show ticket (for ages 5-17) with the purchase of an adult dinner and show ticket at the regular price. The offer is good on Wednesday and Thursday nights throughout the summer.

My husband and I saw Joseph and LOVED it. It’s colorful and upbeat. We talked during the play itself about coming back with our girls. This promo might make that possible.

Stone Arch Bridge Festival
This weekend is the Stone Arch Bridge Festival, which means lots of art, live music, a car show and lots more, all centered in the Minneapolis riverfront area. The free Festival runs from Friday night through Sunday (6/14-6/16).

$6 Tickets to Shades Brigade
This one sounds like a unique, fun, and inexpensive night of live theatre: Goldstar is offering complimentary tickets to two performances of Shades Brigade at The Jerome Hill Theatre in St. Paul. Each ticket costs just $6 after fees. The show is an original thriller inspired by programs from the golden age of radio.

Living Word Food Ministry
One unique way to save on groceries is by purchasing a box of bulk foods from an organization like Living Word Food Ministry. This organization is sponsored by Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park. Each month they provide boxes of high-quality, cost-effective frozen food items with enough food to help feed a family for four for about a week (a Family Box is $37).

This program is open to everyone, regardless of income. There is no limit to the number of food boxes you can purchase. Order online or in person for this month’s box by Sunday, 6/16, then show up at Living Word on Saturday, 6/29 to pick up your order. If you order two or more boxes, they will deliver it to your home if you live in Hennepin County.

Mill City Museum $2 Off Admission Coupon
Snag $2 off up to four adult admissions to the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis when you use this printable coupon. The coupon is good through 5/31/2014. (Thanks, Thrifty Minnesota!)

Hennepin County Fix-It Clinics
How many times do we throw things away that could possibly be fixed? To cut down on that number, Hennepin County is offering free Fix-It Clinics, including one coming up on 6/15 in Bloomington. Anyone can bring in a household item that needs fixing, and the events are staffed by everyday people who know their way around a toolbox. If you are more of the handyperson type, consider volunteering for one of the clinics. (We’ve featured these clinics before, but thanks to an article  about similar clinics in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, I’m inspired to try one soon.)

Feel free to contact us if you know of any additional coupons, deals and events available to readers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

  1. Where do you find the promo for Joseph tickets? I clicked through your link, but it was not evident where on their website to look.

We looked into going with an earlier promo, but it was still going to be about $200 for our family of 3 – one a kid. Um, no. Has CDT gotten more expensive, or what?
