We’ve rounded up the latest free events, activities and crafts going on at various locations in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area and also nationwide this weekend (5/3-5/5). Please leave a comment if you know of any others and we’ll add them to this list.

Nationwide Events

American Girl Store
Girls ages 8 and up can enjoy various crafts, cooking classes and tours at the American Girl Store. At the Mall of America location, this weekend’s free events include:

Bank of America
Bank of America offers free general admission to 150 museums nationwide on the first full weekend of every month as part of the Museums on Us program. (Note that you must be a Bank of America cardholder to receive free admission.)

Minnesota residents can visit the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis or the Minnesota History Center or James J. Hill House in St. Paul for free.

Barnes & Noble
Check your local Barnes & Noble for events. Most stores have story times once or twice per week.

Cabela’s
Cabela’s offers various samples and demonstrations each weekend. Events vary by location, so check for details at your local store.

Guitar Center
Guitar Center offers a free recording workshop every Saturday from 10-11am. Register in advance online as seats are limited. Find a Guitar Center location near you.

Home Depot Epic Planter

Home Depot
Bring your child to Home Depot this Saturday from 9am-12pm for the free Kids Workshop: Come Discover the EPIC World Right in Your Own Back Yard!. These workshops are designed for children ages 5-12 and are held the first Saturday of every month. Each child receives a free project kit, kid-sized orange apron, and achievement pin.

    Sorry, I see it now… Could you add a link to the top graphic and highlight the date of Vehicle Day at Southdale. The City of Edina website is not very clear in highlighting the event date as Sat, May 4th on its website and press release.
