WBShop, Warner Brothers official store site, is having a big January clearance sale with prices on some great television and movies on DVD and Blu-Ray up to 75% off. This is a great time to stock up for some of those colder winter nights coming up or for gifts for your TV fan for the coming year.

Making the sale even better, DVDs and Blu-Rays generally ship free from WBShop.com, with a few exceptions. That means that the price you see on these discs is the price you’ll pay, shipped.

This Planet Earth: The Complete Collection DVD set is just $19.99, a 75% savings. This item also ships free. I’m a big fan of these DVDs, a BBC production about all sorts of life around the globe; they are gorgeous and I can’t imagine anyone, young or old, not enjoying them.

The WBShop sale also has a lot of old favorites deeply discounted – everything from The Waltons and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air to E.R. and Two and a Half Men. You can get each season of Gilmore Girls on DVD, for instance, for $12.49 each, 75% off.

There are quite a few children’s discs on sale, including this Star Wars: The Clone Wars A Galaxy Divided DVD. It’s $4.39 and ships free. That’s 71% off.

    FYI, I had an Essential coupon for $1 off $3 dollars, so I picked up paper plates that were $3.33. When I got to the register(coupon was from a flyer from the Sunday Paper) it had an expiration date of 12/15/12…So figuring that Cub honors coupons for 30 days, it was a good deal,,,,HERE is the kicker…if the coupon from Cub says store, it is only valid UNTIL the expiration date,,Only MANUFACTURERS coupons are up to the 30 days,,,FYI

    So I placed my order for Planet Earth on Jan 7. It still hasn't come, so I called today.

    They said they only had 10 in stock at the time I placed my order and that someone had placed an order for 100 sets. So I'm now on backorder. Grrrrr. It would be nice if they'd let their customers know. Or maybe that their computer ordering system would keep better track or something. I was hoping to have it by Valentine's Day, but I'm thinking that's not going to happen. The guy just said "yeah, sorry"… If it wasn't such a good deal, I think I would've canceled my order.

    Brenda – That's unfortunate. :( I ran into a similar experience with a Christmas gift I ordered. I don't know when it will arrive now (thankfully my sister is VERY patient!). If the deal wasn't such a good one (not on this website, but elsewhere), I would have just canceled, too.
