CVS Shopping List 1/27 – 2/2/13

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

There are several items you can pick up for under $1 this week, including children’s pain relief, body wash & lotion and Febreze. Also, lots of coupons expire 1/31 so pay attention to those deals and head to CVS before them if you are interested in picking them up.

If you’re new to CVS, your first step is to learn the ins and outs of the Extra Bucks program and learn how to read this shopping list. For those who use reusable bags, you may want to buy a green bag tag.

And if you regularly purchase beauty products at CVS, I recommend enrolling in the CVS Extra Care Beauty Club, which is free to join. As a member, you will receive $3 Extra Bucks on your birthday in addition to other opportunities for free Extra Bucks. Read this post to find out more.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. We will update this list as readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas or we read about other deals across the blogosphere. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Your turn: What other deals did you find this week at CVS?

  • Kalyn

Cyndi! Where can I find the $6 rebate?

    • mary

Kalyn – You can find the rebate form in the 1/27 Red Plum insert.

      • Kalyn

Thanks Mary! I'm new to the couponing world!

  • Amy

Hey for the Physicians deal you have to spend 10 dollars to get the 7 dollars extrabucks

  • Der

In regards to the physicians formula the aa says spend $10 and get $7eb so how is it that you would get the $7eb for only buying the concealer that costs less than $10?

    • http://www.pocketyourdollars.com Laura Wales

Amy and Der – I've fixed the post. Thanks!

  • http://www.pocketyourdollars.com Laura Wales

Paige – Clearance items are excluded from Extra Bucks offers at CVS.

    Here's a deal to add:

    TRESemme (32 oz) is 2/$7.

    Buy 2

Use $1.75 any TRESemme product sticky (I found them on the 32 oz. bottles at the Chanhassen CVS)

Use $2 off any 2 TRESemme product coupons printing on the coupon machine (I've gotten several)

Final price: $0.75 each 32 oz. bottle.

OR: Use $2 off 2 TRESSemme products and use

Buy 1 TRESemme Shampoo or Conditioner Product, Get 1 Free from 1/27 Red Plum insert (limit 2 identical coupons in same shopping trip)

(I'm not sure how to put this together for CVS as I am not familiar with their policy about using coupons on free products, etc.

    • Intchina

I did the second deal and it went through because the $2 coupon is a store coupon, whereas the bogo coupon is a manufacturer's coupon. Moreover, it turned out that the bogo coupon took off the maximum of $6 instead of $3.5 as per the sale deal, so, I got two Tresseme products for a negative amount (a $1 got minused from the purchase total)!

However, I am feeling a little bad about it, and wonder if I should have gone back and pointed it out (i did not catch it right away).

Will the store get the full $6 back from the manufacturer, or only the sale ptice of $3.5? How does it work exactly?

      Thoughts? Anybody?

      • Sarah

That's a fabulous deal! I'm pretty sure that the store gets reimbursed for the coupon amount and not the sale price. I know what you mean about feeling bad about getting the free stuff. It doesn't make a lot of sence to walk out without paying for something.

      • Jill Pearson

        OMG! Mine did too! O.o

        —-

        • Jill Pearson

i checked the math and redid my spreadsheet, and yup we got it like as if they were bogo plus bogo coupon. Wierd O.0

        • Jill Pearson

I guess at all stores its automatically taking off $6 so yes cvs will get the entire $6 back b/c that's how they set there coupon to ring up. People are reporting it to do the same thing at kmart.

  • Jennifer

Angela, Your getting one dollar for each product your purchasing. HTH.

  • Brock

    Got a $4 off $20 e-mail coupon today. Check your e-mail!

Using it towards the Pepsi soda deal works out well:

    6 12-packs for $11 after the $5 extra bucks and $4 coupon. $1.83 per 12-pack.

    • mary

      Nice!

  • Sarah

Hi! I'm fairly new to shopping at CVS and I had a question. I already did the Pepsi deal (buy $20, get $5 ECB) eariler in the week. I just got a $5 off $30 purchase coupon in the mail today. Am I able to do the pepsi deal again and get the $5 ECB again or is that tracked on my card?

    Thanks!

    • Talonda Brown

Sarah, I believe that the Pepsi deal is limited to one per household. :(

  • http://www.pocketyourdollars.com Laura Wales

Sarah – The limits stated are per card and they do track, so you wouldn't be able to do it again.

    • Sarah

      Thanks everyone!

  • Brock

I know it says limit one deal per household but what my receipt says makes me think you could do it more than once. I could be wrong. But I did the Pepsi deal this week and on the bottom of my receipt it says:

"Pepsi, Spend 20 Get 5 EB

    Amount Toward this Reward 20.63

Amount Needed to Earn Reward 19.37"

Why would the "Amount needed to earn reward" be on there if I couldn't do it again?

    • Jill Pearson

same here on some of my stuff

  • Jill Pearson

is it true that prices change over saterdays?

  • http://www.pocketyourdollars.com Laura Wales

Brock – Sometimes deals have a limit of more than what is stated in the ad; it looks like that was the case here.

I know that this deal was last week, but if you see something like this again, please let us know. Thanks for sharing!

  • http://www.pocketyourdollars.com Laura Wales

Jill – I have heard that stores have the option of changing over prices after 4pm on Saturdays. Some stores choose to do so right away, others do later (like 8pm), others don't until Sunday.

Your best bet is to ask the store's manager to see when the specific store you shop at switches.
