Walgreens Shopping List 10/7 – 10/13/12

If you’re new to Walgreens shopping, then learn how the Balance Rewards Program works.  Plus,  learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list. Don’t forget that some other stores will accept Register Rewards like a manufacturer’s coupon. Also, it’s a good idea to print out Walgreens’ official coupon policy and keep it with you in case an issue comes up at checkout.

This is a starting list of deals for the week and is not a comprehensive list of every sale item and its coupons, but just the best deals (things at prices I’d actually pay). We will update this list as readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas or we read about other deals across the blogosphere. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week, we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2/$4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.

Your turn: What other deals did you find this week at Walgreens?

Comments

  1. If you get 750 points for purchasing some soup. If you do it twice will you get 1500?

  2. the right guard deodorant math doesn't add up to me, am i missing something? If it is 3.25 each bogo with a $2 coupon it would be 2 for 1.25.

  3. Does Walgreens accept expired mfr coupons? The $1 off Colgate toothpaste coupons expired 9/29.

  4. I believe the Colgate Coupon may have expired 9/29. There is a coupon for 75 cents off Colgate in the 9/30 SS expires 10/20

  5. How is the Nexxus products end up being free as the coupons say not good on trial size, or products under 5 oz?

  6. RR question says:

If I have two toothpaste coupons can I purchase both in the same transaction and have it print two RRs?

    • No the RR will only print one time per transaction. And will not print if you use RR from transaction to purchase same RR generating item.

  7. However, I found $1 off 1 q attached to some of the Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief Enamel Repair boxes in WG store, so ended up with the same deal.

  8. Carol-

LOL I found 1 like that at my Walgreens…going to a different one tonight to see if I can find more if not I'll use the 75centers and get it for $.24 as this is a good enough price for me since I HAVE to use this toothpaste…

  9. Does anyone know if now that Walgreens and CVS both have cards will they compete with each other and match the "with card" prices for each others adds?? I am assuming no but just wanted to check. Thanks.

    • I have not heard of either store price matching before Walgreen's started their card program and have not heard of them doing that since the card program started.

  10. Rebecca S says:

Does anyone know if Walgreens now accepts TRICARE again? Their ad would make it appear that they are beack to accepting all prescription plans serviced by express scripts, but when I stopped by my Walgreens, they could not give me and answer They said "give us your precription and we'll see if it works". Why the heck would I give them my prescription not knowing if they will take my insurance? Boo Walgreens.

  11. Carol and Mary- I am lost at why you say the coupon won't work on the Nexxus deal? I printed both coupons and neither of them say not good products under 5 oz. In fact the Walgreens coupons says good on Nexxus Hair Care, 1.7 to 33.8 oz And the one from the Target site does not say oz size just not good on "Trial or Travel size". Can you look at this deal again and update it. I plan on going to Walgreens tomorrow and would like to do this deal.

    Thanks!

    • V – I have not printed the coupon myself. I was just going off what Carol said. If it says not good on "trial or travel size" then it should work just fine. Thanks for clarifying!

  12. I can't seem to wrap my mind around this today.

With the Herbal Essence deal 2/$6

How does the B1G1 coupon work? Do get 2 and only pay $3, or get 4 and pay $6? Which one is the free product?? Also, I'm not seeing how you get it down to $1 each.

  13. I have two sets of Nexxus coupons printed, one from Target site and one coupon network. This is what mine say, Target ones….(5 oz. or larger) (excludes trial and travel sizes). The others ones read….(Exclude trial/travel size). Yes the Walgreens store coupon does say 1.7 to 33.8, and excludes trial/travel size, so if they have signs saying the shampoo 5 oz. ones work with their coupon then they should work with the Target ones too. I just read the ones that I printed and thought the 5 oz. ones would be the trial size. Sorry if I confused anyone. Now, I will have to take mine to the store and see if I can score some for free.

  14. I bought 6 candy bars on the 3/$2 get 500 points on Wednesday in the same transaction and got 1000 points.

  15. Don't like these new reward $ to use, they don't give you much time to use expire the next day.
