Your turn: What are your favorite Restaurant Week locations?

*Tonight Only* $3 Punch “Dead” Pizzas
Head over to Punch Pizza tonight for a cheap dinner: after 5pm today (Wednesday, 10/24) they are offering any of their “dead” pizzas (those no longer on the menu) for just $3 each. Just bring the Punch Pizza coupon to the register (printed or on your mobile device) to get the deal. And if you are curious about the dead selection, head over to the Punch website, where there is a list. I’ll take a Matteo, please. (Thanks, Thrifty Minnesota!)

Free Bouldering at Midwest Mountaineering
Midwest Mountaineering in Minneapolis has a nice bouldering cave that you can climb for free. Bouldering is the rock climbing you do without a harness, but don’t worry – the floor is padded and you can’t fall too far.

You can get a bouldering lesson for just $5, or women can join the free Bouldering Divas clinics the 2nd Thursday of every month (pre-registration required). Rent some climbing shoes for just $3 and give the cave a whirl. (Thanks, phenoMNal twin cities!)

Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine Restaurant Week
Book your tables! Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine’s Restaurant Week is going on now through 10/26, and participating restaurants have some excellent deals. Restaurants offer fixed-price lunches for $10-20 and dinners for $15-30.

Scrolling through the deals, I spotted an all-you-can-eat sushi lunch at Aji Japanese Restaurant in Hopkins for $10. It’s normally $12.95 at lunch, and the excellent quality makes it a great deal at the regular price. The fixed-price menus don’t include tax, tip, wine or other drinks.

Warners’ Stellian Appliance Warehouse Sale
Warners’ Stellian is holding an Appliance Warehouse Sale this weekend on Saturday, 10/27 and Sunday, 10/28. The sale will feature a huge selection of appliances from brands like Amana, Bosch, Dyson, Electrolux, Frigidaire, GE, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, LG, Magic Chef, Maytag, Weber, and Whirlpool. The sale takes place at 550 Atwater Circle in St. Paul. A few of the deals and further details can be checked out on Warners’ Stellian website.

Free Minnesota Sinfonia Concerts
Ready for a nice date night, or do you want to expose the kids to some classical music? Minnesota Sinfonia kicks off their free winter concert series this weekend with performances themed around the upcoming election. The concerts are Friday, 10/26, 7pm at First Covenant Church in St. Paul and Saturday, 10/27, 2pm at the Basilica in Minneapolis. Other free concerts will be held throughout the winter and around the Cities.

Donate blood then go on roller coasters? No thank you! If you've never donate before, I would recommend sitting this one out. I get a little light headed as it is when I donate. I think my hubby could do it just fine. Just something to think about.

EC – I thought about that, too. I personally don't donate blood at all anymore after three attempts, but some people might have enough experience with it to know if they can handle it or not.

  2. Katie says

You can get ValleyScare discount coupons at Taco Bell. It will give you anywhere from $5-$10 off per person depending on the day/time you go, up to 6 discounts per coupon.

Also, if you are Military (like we are) just show your Military ID and get in for $28.50 each for you and your dependents. That is better than the coupon deal. We spent the whole day there. Enjoyed the rides during the day and the haunted houses at night. It was a lot of fun. Night time is NOT recommended for little ones. It can get really scary.
