Good news! Build A Sign extended this offer through Tuesday 10/9. Readers have commented that their banners are really nice and that Build A sign has provided above-and-beyond customer service. Get a generic “Happy Birthday” banner or buy one for a teenager that they can hang in their room, like “Carrie’s Room.” Church groups and small business have also used this deal to get a new sign.

Fall means school events, football games, elections and the holidays approaching, not to mention all the usual birthday parties and family get-togethers. If you are looking for an easy way to make your celebrations even more special, take advantage of this free custom banner offer from Build A Sign (value $38)

Build A Sign offered something similar to our readers last spring and it was super popular (as in one of the most popular deals we’ve ever mentioned). As a result, they’re offering us even-larger banners this time.

Build A Sign is offering Pocket Your Dollars’ readers a free 3′ by 6′ custom banner + $12 flat-rate shipping and handling with the coupon code PYDFALL12. This is an exclusive deal just for our readers that will end on Friday 10/5. Tuesday 10/9 (wasn’t that nice of them?)

These custom vinyl banners are very durable and easy to display. You can choose from their collection of designs or create your own using your own images and use unlimited colors. To get started, go to BuildASign.com browse through their custom banner categories. You can start from scratch or narrow your results by category to find a design that appeals to you.

I’d leave the age out and make a timeless banner for each family member that says “Happy Birthday” and their name.

I’d love to hear from those of you who ordered signs last time. What kind did you get? How did they turn out? What other kinds of signs could you imagine making?

  1. Jim Carney says:

This offer does not include welding or grommets, that costs an additional $6.99.

  2. We are now offering tuxedo rental at our White Bear Lake Sew What! and we are ordering a new banner for our window. Perfect timing.

  3. I ordered a banner and there was some kind of glitch so I ordered it again, the first order "glitch" seemed to me that the order didn't get placed. Then about an hour later, I got 2 emails confirming my 1st and 2nd order. I emailed them to cancel one of the orders, I certainly do not need 2 of the same banners! They didn't email me back so after two emails, one in the morning and one at 2:38 in the afternoon, I called them at 4:10. The wait time on the phone was less than 20 seconds and the man I spoke to was very helpful! He took care of cancelling the double order AND he offered me free grommets on the one I was keeping, that was way beyond what I expected! So far I am pleased with the customer service on the phone! I am excited to see what the banner looks like. I did a "generic" female Happy Birthday one since I figure I can use it for our 2 daughters and also for any other females in the extended family and maybe even for friends! Thanks for sharing this deal with us, Carrie!

  4. Oh, my….my FREE banner that I ordered this past spring was just beautiful!! It was for my daughters HS Graduation p arty. I uploaded a grad. pic of her for the banner. Turned out perfectly! Had people sign it at the Open House. I just told her the other day that it's about time to take it down, as it's been hangin' in our kitchen for over 3 months. ;)

I think I may go for a generic Birthday one too or a nice banner for our Church for community events.

  5. EXTENDED!! Now I can tell others about this deal! Yeah, I did order one for my Church…nice and easy!

    • I realized that I'd forgotten to remind everyone about it earlier today and so I asked Build A Sign if they'd be gracious with me and extend it. They did! They are a really good company. Random thing – they got a shout out in Entrepreneur magazine a few months back. Anyone besides me remember that?

  6. I feel really good now anticipating my banner order after reading these comments. I ordered based on the good word of Carrie before these comments were posted. Now I know my banner will look good. Thanks.

    • Kid – Thanks for trusting my recommendation. If you ever take action on something I recommend, aren't satisfied and can't get it remedied with the retailer yourself, let me know. I will make sure that you get taken care of. What kind of banner did you order?

  7. Super excited to see how it looks – ordered one today!!!

  8. I just ordered one for me and one for my sister. We are in charge of our family reunion this year, so this is perfect! No more handmade signs on cardboard for us!!

  9. I did the same thing as Kid, decided to order based on Carrie's recommendation and I also told that to the man I spoke to at BuildASign last week. I've passed this offer to a school administrator I know and also to some friends. Now I'm thinking it would be fun to come up with ideas for another banner, if they do this again in the future. Maybe with a holiday theme or Garage Sale – since we seem to do one every year. My husband made some great wood signs with steel posts for putting them in the ground but a matching sign for the front of the garage would really be a nice touch, don't you think?! Thanks again Carrie!

  10. Tory Chrisitan says:

We took advantage of this when it was last offered and I have to tell you I LOVED our banners! We bought one for our son's HS grad party and one to use every year for our neighborhood block party! These are SUPER durable and really great looking!!
