Walgreens Shopping List 8/5 – 8/11/12

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Pick up five items for free after Register Reward, plus find a slew of low-priced school supplies this week at Walgreens.

If you’re new to Walgreens shopping, then learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list. Don’t forget that some other stores will accept Register Rewards like a manufacturer’s coupon. Also, it’s a good idea to print out Walgreens’ official coupon policy and keep it with you in case an issue comes up at checkout.

This is a starting list of deals for the week and is not a comprehensive list of every sale item and its coupons, but just the best deals (things at prices I’d actually pay). We will update this list as readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas or we read about other deals across the blogosphere. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week, we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2/$4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.

Your turn: What other deals did you find this week at Walgreens?

  1. Thanks for the early list! Can you shop Walgreens Sat night and get the next week's deals, like at CVS?

    • I'v e heard of being able to, but it would most likely depend on the store, and if they are 24/hours of course! I would ask the employees of your store what time the new prices get put into the system, and what time they start hanging tags ( I've saw around noon on Sat.) Be careful! Watch the prices at checkout to make sure they ring right!

  2. Samantha says:

Does anyone know for the mail in rebate for the Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads is there a limit you can buy and submit on the same rebate? Hoping to stock up a bit if i can.

  3. The only Bic razors for $1.99 were a Men's 2 pack that would not work with the $3 coupon. I assume it is because it is considered the travel size even though the package does not note travel size.

  4. Jenny Trainor says:

Rats! I think the Carmex coupons are out! Thanks for all the hard work ladies!!

  5. I have submitted their rebates before and they all had a limit of one. I will check at Walgreen's for you but probably won't get there until later in the week.

  6. Does Walgreens take expired coupons if they were valid when the rain check was issued? Example: Last week's deal on Huggies – they were out of product all week. I have a rain check but now the coupons are expired (on 8/4).

  7. Several of the rebates listed in the Month-Long deals section (Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads, Vitali-T-Aid, Mueller Kinesiology Tape, Cortaid) are expired 8/4 according to what I see in the coupon booklet. The list says 8/25.

  8. Buy 2 7 Up, A&W, Sunkist, Canada Dry or Hawaiian Punch (2 liter) or Chex Mix (5.5 or 8.75 oz.) for 2/$3, Get $1 Register Reward.

*The Crush 2 liters are included in the RR deal (according to shelf tags at my store) and there's a $1/3 Crush 2 L bottles coupon in 7/22 Pepsi Insert (exp 08/11).

    • Nevermind myst post, sorry, Crush are not included. I'm wrong here – I mixed up Sunkist & Crush orange with each other!

  9. Thanks Chris. I removed them from the list.

  10. which coupon do we use to get the free bic pens? I'm not seeing a bic coupon in the 7/29 SS…thanks!

  11. Cara – I don't think so. Usually the rain checks only cover the sale price, not the coupons used on top of the sale price.

  12. Whoops! That was my fault. I thought for sure that those were month-long deals but they weren't (unfortunately I totally missed out). Sorry about that!

  13. Will Walmart price match the Bic pens that are on sale at Walgreens? They are on sale at Walgreens for $1.99 but if you use the in-ad coupon they are on sale for $.49. Will Walmart match the $.49? If they will, will they limit my purchase to 3 (as that is what the Walgreens coupon says)? Also, if they price match to a Walgreens coupon, will they also accept a manufacturer’s coupon?

My Walgreens was out of stock! :(

  14. They don' take expired Huggies coupons. but if you go to Huggies.com and check in each day via facebook for 5 days, you can print a $2.00 of huggies slip on diapers, twice. Use your rain check then.

  15. The 5 pack of highlighters were not tagged at my Walgreens for 79 cents and the cashier told me they were on sale last week. Since they are not in the published ad I had no leg to stand on for argument. Any help?

  16. Thanks, Amanda!

  17. April – The highlighters at that price were advertised in the wrap-around (half sheet) part of the weekly ad. I saw it here: http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walgreens/default…. on page 26.

It's possible that the wraparound ad was a regional ad.

  18. Has anyone found an abundance of the bic pens anywhere in the North North/West part of the cities..I have 7 coupons and can't find them in stock anywhere…please help…I did get a rain check but only for 3 so I would like to find them somewhere!! Thanks all
