Birthday Freebies: Kids’ Offers

We’ve dug through the archives to pull together an updated list of freebies that you can get on your actual birthday or the week or month of your special day, and we’re sharing those freebies with you this week.

Today’s birthday freebies list includes deals for your kids. Wherever possible, we’ve listed the exact offer you’ll receive. If no specific deal is listed, that means that the website advertises a birthday offer but we’re not sure exactly what that is.

Please note: With many of these offers, you’ll be required to bring in a coupon to get the deal. We’ve included links to sign up for the specific email newsletters so that you’ll receive the coupon in time for your children’s birthdays.

Please leave a comment if you know of any other kids birthday freebies or if you know specifically what these locations offer. Thanks!

Byerly's used to offer a free small (maybe 10") round smash cake for a baby's first birthday. You need to present a copy of the birth certificate. They did this as recently as June 2011. You do need to call ahead about a week to order it.

Yep, Byerly's still does the free smash cake for the first birthday, with a certificate as proof. Target offers a free slice of cake or cupcake with the purchase of any quarter sheet that you have decorated to say "First Birthday" somewhere – you have to request it though.

At Benihana, you have to be a member before going for your meal.

Coldstone offers a free treat too, with membership in their online club. YOu can add birthdays for multiple family members too!

Famous Daves has a free kids meal as well for members of the PIG club you can add your whole families birthdays.

As of April 1 (2012), Byerly's no longer offers a totally free smash cake. You now need to purchase another cake that's at least $19.95 (or is it $19.99?) to get the free smash cake.

I know because I called to confirm this deal before my daughter's first birthday on April 11. I was so bummed! :(
