Diva Days in Downtown Anoka
Today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday) is Diva Days in downtown Anoka. Women can enjoy two days of giveaways, Blingo, special events and shopping, plus free goodie bags for the first 50 customers on Friday and Saturday from 10-11am at the old Post Office building. Free First Saturday at the Walker Art Center
This Saturday is Free First Saturday at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Gallery admission is free from 10am-5pm, and special family activities are scheduled from 10am-3pm. The popular Lifelike exhibition appeals to both children and adults.
Cub4Kids Spring Mother’s Day Event
Saturday, 5/5 from 11am-2pm, Cub Foods stores will hold a free Cub4Kids Spring Mother’s Day event. The event will include activities where kids can make a craft for their mothers (craft may vary by location).
Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre MayDay Parade
Heart of the Beast Puppet Theatre holds their 38th MayDay Parade on Sunday, 5/6 at 1pm in Minneapolis. The parade is followed by the MayDay Ceremony and Festival in Powderhorn Park.
2 VIP Tickets to Diana Exhibit
If you’ve been meaning to go to the Diana: A Celebration exhibition at the Mall of America, you’ll be happy to hear that you can get a Mother’s Day special through Ticketmaster: two VIP tickets for $35 total (a $12 savings, but you will have to pay an additional convenience charge and taxes). This exhibition celebrates the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales and contains nine galleries with over 150 objects.
Although this is advertised as a Mother’s Day special, tickets can be purchased for any date until the exhibition closes on June 10. Tickets are regularly priced at $23.50/VIP, $21.50/adult, $17.50/senior, $13.50/child.
$5 Pizza for $3 on Monday, 5/7
Local pizza chain $5 Pizza is offering their pizzas for just $3 on the first Monday of the month. This month, that Monday falls on 5/7. I would call your nearest $5 Pizza to make sure they are participating in the promotion.
