Cub Foods Shopping List 4/1 – 4/7/12

This shopping list includes the best deals from the sales flyer found in the Sunday paper, plus the 4 pages of additional sales advertised exclusively on Cub Foods’ website.

Cub Foods’ coupon policy is changing. On April 15, 2012 Cub Foods’ coupon policy will change and stores will accept expired coupons just 1 month past their expiration date. (I’ll post the new policy online when Cub Foods emails it to me in the next few weeks). Until then, most stores accept coupons up to 3 months past their expiration date and a few even longer than that. Therefore, some of the referenced coupons on this list are expired.

Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store or we get emails with deal ideas, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

    There is an IP for Idaho spuds on the RP site for $0.55/1 . Would make that $0.44.

      You might also have an IP to get these for free if they are the ones that I am thinking about. I am not sure where I got them from but I got 2 free boxes of Idaho Spuds (potato bits) when I was at the store on Saturday.

    fyi The cub in Eagan wouldn't accept my 90 day expired coupons. Cashier said it was due to the new policy.

      It sounds like 90 day coupons have been hit or miss the last few wks and some stores not accepting any that are expired. I had no trouble last wk at the 41and 7 location in Shorewood and the location on Lyndale in Bloomington.

      I noticed last week that the expired coupons have started beeping at the checkout, and the cashiers have to enter them in manually now if they are expired. I didn't have any problem using my 3 month expired coupons this week though the cashier just checked it wasn't more than 3 months and entered it in manually.

        I have also noticed that at 2 different Cub locations–but the cashiers have all pushed them through.

        Laura – Yes, the registers are now set to beep when expired coupons are scanned, that is correct. But through April 14 they should manually push 90 day-expired coupon through. After that only coupons that are 30 days expired will be accepted.

    I bought gift cards today hoping to receive fuel coupons, but I didn't get any. I thought this used to work. Has anyone else done this? I bought Cub & restaurant cards.

    You do need the coupon from the cub ad for the strawberry price. I bought 2 yesterday and the coupon rang up differently from there normal inshore coupons. It took the price off at the bottom of the receipt under coupons and it only took off enough to reduce the price of one of the pack of strawberries I bought to the $1.88 even although I bought 2 and the coupon states limit 2. Watch your receipts for this error. I didn't notice until I got home so I will just take it in next time I go in.

    Laura, If an item rings up wrong at cub bring to customer service they give you the price of the item back and you keep the item for free, learned that a few weeks ago when my Lipton tea was on clearance for 2.99 but rang up 7.99 they gave me the $7.99 and the item for free:)

    Last week I tried to redeem some coupons that had expired more than 3 months ago. I admit I was trying to push it. The cashier told me that being April 15th, Cub will no longer be accepting expired coupons at all.

    I am looking forward to get a copy of the new coupon policy so I can use expired coupons that meet the new policy. I do not want to be told that I cannot use any expired coupons. That is one of the major benefits of shopping at Cub and I am quite disappointed that they are changing it but at least they are still accepting some expired.

    The reynolds wrap is on sale at cub for $2.99. So with the IP it would make it $1.50. And even though the size is a little smaller than the one at target-the per sq is also a little less. Also the other varieties like the non stick ones and heavy duty also are on sale for $2.99. Those are a better deal than the similar varieties at target.

    The Kraft homestyle dinners are on sale this week for 2.49. There is a coupon in the 4/1 Smart Source for .75 off of 1. Bringing it down to 1.74 for the total.

    For those of us up North, there was a tear off manufacture's coupon at Super One Foods for the Powerade. Buy 10 get 5 free. This brings the price down to 33 cents a bottle.

    For the ham deal (Cub Smoked Ham $0.98/lb. With Additional $25+ Purchase) , does it have to be $25 in additional "groceries" meaning food, or would say an $15 Itunes gift card count toward the $25?

    Ditto on the HyVee match ups. This week they have cream of mushroom soup 2/1.00 and butter for 1.58! Every week they usually have some special sale. It would be so great to add them to the list.

    originally $5.89 each so after BOGO and 1 coupon (they wouldn't take coupon for free item) they end up being 2.45 each for 16 oz. bottles…less than the 3.49/17 oz at Aldi and a bit less than Sam's Club's options

    Gift cards are not eligible for the Holiday fuel coupons. If you got them in the past consider yourself lucky.

    I've not seen it posted elsewhere, but forgive me if this is a duplicate notice. Most of the Cub Foods stores I've been in lately no longer allow you to independently use coupons at the self check out. When I went through, I had to get a cashier to come over and add them manually. A few days later, I saw someone try to use them and the machine said that it didn't take coupons. I left before hearing the cashier's comments and how they resolved it.

    The only reason you need a cashier to manually put the coupons in the self check is because people in the past have scanned a coupon and not put the coupon in the machine and then scanned that same coupon again. The store is trying to save money.
