Twin Cities folks can celebrate the conclusion of the long weekend with a special IMAX Family Night, score free tickets to the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, see a new movie for free in Edina, and more.
Free Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra Tickets
If you’ve never been to a Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra concert, this month you can score two free tickets to any performance through the end of the season (in June). Just submit your information and you will be emailed a code good for two of the best-available tickets to your choice of performances. This deal appears to only be good for those people who are not yet in the SPCO’s database, so you really do indeed have to be “new” to the SPCO. The offer and the coupon code expire 1/31.
Free Movie Screening
AMC Southdale 16 Theatres in Edina is hosting a free screening of the new movie Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close tomorrow, Tuesday 1/17 at 7:30pm. Go to GoFobo and use the coupon code 2ZBR66TU to get tickets. Tickets are limited though likely will be oversold, meaning you should get there early to be sure to get in. (Thanks, Thrifty Minnesota!)
Free Minneapolis Boat Show Tickets
Register with Your Boat Club to be emailed two free tickets to the Minneapolis Boat Show. The Boat Show is held 1/19-1/22 at the Minneapolis Convention Center and admission is normally $10 for adults. (Thanks to Pocket Your Dollars’ reader Kris for for letting us know about this deal!)
*Tonight* Family Night at Great Clips IMAX
If you are looking for a fun way to wrap up the long weekend, this would be a great way to do so: Tonight, 1/16, is Family Night at Great Clips IMAX Theater at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley. The featured film is China: The Panda Adventure, and you will receive a free Child ticket when you purchase an Adult ticket. In addition, free snacks from Leeann Chin and free drinks from Pepsi and Sam’s Club will be available while supplies last starting at 5:30pm.
U.S. Pond Hockey Championships
The U.S. Pond Hockey Championships will be taking place at Lake Nokomis this weekend, 1/20-1/22. There are lots of free events happening throughout the weekend as hockey players of all ages converge on Minneapolis for outdoor games. USPHC has posted a schedule of events, but has not yet posted specific spectator information and tips yet; a recent blog post comment promises the information will be posted soon.
Feel free to contact us if you know of any additional coupons, deals and events available to readers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. You can also access a Google calendar of all of the time-sensitive offers we post.

Has anyone ever done one of those movie screenings from GoFobo? Just wondering how overbooked it typically is and therefore how early we should plan on getting there?
My husband and I went to a GoFobo screening last summer. We got there right on time and were extremely lucky to get seats. We ended up sitting in the front row as a result too. I would suggest getting there about an hour early if I were you.
It says “THANKS FOR YOUR SUBMISSION
