OfficeMax, Staples and Office Depot: 10-Ream Case of Paper for a Penny, Free Batteries + More

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Pick up a number of great deals at office supply stores (both in-store and online, in some cases) this week, including a 10-ream case of paper for just a penny, a free 16-pack of batteries, and $10 in free copy and print services.

Your turn: What do you usually spend your rewards money on? (I’m always looking for new ideas.)

OfficeMax

If you’re a member of OfficeMax’s MaxPerks Bonus Rewards program (it’s free to join), you can get a great deal on copy paper this week. Plus, use the coupon available in the ad to save 20% on your ink, toner or supply purchase (paper is included) or use the coupon code SAVEATHON to save 20% online.

Here’s how the deal breaks down:

OfficeMax Multiuse Copy Paper, 10-Ream Case $42.99 (Limit 2)
Use the coupon code SAVEATHON to drop your price to $34.39
Spend $34.39, get $34.98 back in MaxPerks Bonus Rewards
Final price: $0.01 after MaxPerks Bonus Rewards

Of course, you can order without the coupon code and get more back in MaxPerks Bonus Rewards, but I’d rather pay less out of pocket and get less back in rewards so I don’t have to worry about using up more money in rewards later.

You can order online and opt for in-store pickup to make your life a little easier. One time when I did this with boxes of copy paper (like what’s on sale this week), the staff at the store actually loaded it right into my car for me.

Otherwise, shipping is free on orders of $50 or more (so if you purchase two 10-ream cases, they’ll both ship to your house for free). Be sure you enter your MaxPerks ID # at checkout as no adjustments will be made after-the-fact.

How MaxPerks Works

MaxPerks is a free store loyalty program that you can join online or in-store. Over time, you’ll see advertised sales items in Office Max’s flyer in which you earn MaxPerks Bonus Rewards (a.k.a. store credit) for buying a certain item or quantity of items. You also earn Bonus Rewards for every $500 you spend on qualifying purchases.

You earn MaxPerks Rewards based on how much you actually spend in terms of cash money when you check out; that means coupons and any amount you pay with previously earned MaxPerks Rewards is deducted from the amount you earn on your next purchase.

Rewards are credited to your account with their next statement cycle and expire 90 days after you receive them. You can sign up for email reminders that remind you to use up your Rewards before they expire.

To join this free program, click on the appropriate category near the bottom of this web page where it says “Join MaxPerks today.”

Staples

Get a 16-pack of Duracell batteries for free through Staples Rewards this week. Be sure to check your store’s ad to be sure this deal is being offered in your area as prices and promotions can vary nationwide (click “Weekly Ad” in the upper left-hand corner to see your store’s ad).

Here’s the deal:

Duracell AA or AAA Batteries (16 pk.) (Limit 2)
Use $0.75/1 from 10/16 Procter & Gamble insert
Spend ??, get 100% back in Staples Rewards
Final price: Free after coupon and Staples Rewards

You can also use this printable coupon to take $5 off your purchase of $25 or more (exp 10/22). If you use it to purchase the batteries, the amount you get back in Staples Rewards will be the amount that you spent after coupons. (Thanks, Printable Coupons and Deals!)

How Staples Rewards Works

You’ll need to become a Staples Rewards member (it’s free) to get this deal. Keep in mind that the price eligible for Rewards is the amount paid at checkout after application of all promotions, coupons and Rewards redemptions (which means that you can’t “roll” Rewards into another Rewards item and get the full amount of Rewards on the second item).

Staples Rewards are issued monthly when the value of the Reward is at least $10. Rewards expire no less than 60 days after issuance. Monthly balances of less than $10 will roll over each month until the minimum is met for that calendar quarter. If the $10 minimum for the quarter has not been met, the balance will expire at the end of the quarter.

Office Depot

Worklife Rewards members can use this printable coupon to get $10 off an in-store purchase of $10 or more at Copy & Print Depot. Coupon expires 11/7. Eligible services and items include copies, binding and laminating, business cards, passport/ID photos, digital photo prints, and more.

How Worklife Rewards Works

With the Worklife Rewards program, you earn Rewards that are paid quarterly in the form of an Office Depot Rewards Certificate when you earn a minimum of $10 in rewards. Unpaid Rewards expire at the end of each quarter.

I have to say, I LOVE Staples. I recycle my ink cartridges and I always have a coupon for $25 off a $75 purchase & free shipping.. I will be ordering $75 worth of ink, use the $25 off and my $20 ink recycling rewards and pay only $30 plus tax for $75 worth of ink & free shipping. I will also order my copy paper in this deal. The thing I cannot get use to is some deals are only for in-store purchases. I have $40 in gift cards & cannot use them on-line. Also every month they have $10 off ink purchases & can only be used in store. But all in all I love Stapes.

I was not able to find how to opt for the in-store pickup. I emailed their customer service and received a response back that this is not an option when ordering online. Carrie – how have you been able to do the in-store pickup. Do you call after you’ve placed your order and have them hold it at the store for you?
