American Express is providing a $250 American Express gift card to one Pocket Your Dollars’ reader. The gift card is like a pre-loaded debit card that is good anywhere American Express is accepted; there are no fees or costs associated with it. What a generous prize right before the holidays, don’t you think?
They offered the prize after seeing our mention earlier this week about the free weekend open houses at historic sites across the Twin Cities. American Express is working with the National Historic Trust on the Partners in Preservation program which is providing one million dollars to historic sites in my hometown.
Partners in Preservation has pre-selected 25 sites that are vying for dollars in an American Idol-style voting contest that’s happening through Facebook. The site with the most votes is guaranteed funding through the program, up to $125,000. An advisory committee made up of business/community leaders and co-chaired by Minneapolis Mayor Rybak and St. Paul Mayor Coleman will help determine which of the other sites will receive funding from the remaining allotted money.
Here’s where you come in and how you can enter to win a $250 prize.
How to Enter the Giveaway
You can enter this giveaway up to four times with a limit of one entry per day now (Friday 10/7) through Monday, October 10 at 12 pm CST.
Here’s how to enter:
- “Like” Partners in Preservation on Facebook
- Vote for one of the 25 historic sites to be guaranteed funding through the Partners in Preservation Program
- Complete the form below (or located here if you can’t see it within this blog post) telling us that you voted and sharing which site you voted for.
Like I said, you can vote once per day and each time you vote you can enter this contest. You’ll need to return here, to this blog post, and complete a new entry form.
This contest is open to anyone, ages 18 and older, anywhere in the United States even though the historic sites are located within the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area.
Rules
This giveaway is open to all U.S. residents 18 years or older. Entries must be received via the official entry form on or before 12:00 noon CDT on Monday, October 10, 2011 to be eligible; entries received any other way or outside that time parameter do not qualify.
Winners will be notified via email to the email address provided in the entry form. We are not responsible for mis-typed addresses or email lost in transit. Notification will come from info [at] pocket your dollars [dot] com; be sure to allow this address through your spam filter. Winners must respond within 48 hours of notification email to claim their prize or an alternate winner will be selected.
