If you are new to shopping Double Daze, be sure to read Roundy’s (Rainbow Foods, Copps, and Pick N Save’s) double coupon policy before you get started to understand all the restrictions of their double coupon promotion.
If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.
Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list: as we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

looks like they’ve cut Saturdays off Double days.
The Rainbow ad states October 1st is double/double.
Therese,
Where are you located? My ad states regular double days for Wed the 28th and Sat the 1st.
whoops, I miss typed…Saturday is just a normal double day!
Now it states 31st on the site so one more Saturday til we find out if they extend.
My Pick n Save is doing Doubles on Saturday (just this one). It’s the first since before Monopoly so I’m excited!
Saturday Oct. 1 is double days at pick n save Janesville Wi. Saw the sign today.
Cub foods in St. Louis Park has a display with buy one get one free hormel complete meal coupons. Great find for this weeks rainbow deals.
Yay! Good work–I *love* finding surprise coupons like that!!
I may be missing something, but I don’t believe the Gillette Shave Gel coupon is for the same product. The one at $1.98 was the basic shave gel and the coupon is for the fusion or pro series I believe.
MT,
I think you may be right. Did anyone notice if the Gillette Fusion Shave Gel is on sale as well?
The Gillette Fusion Shave Gel was not included in the sale in Apple Valley.
Bummer! My guy gets a better shave with Fusion.
Sarah,
That’s too bad! Thanks for the info! :)
not many good deals this week
I so agree with you Shane! Hope next week is better.
Same here. I won’t be making a trip to Rainbow this week, which is rare!
I like it when that happens every once in a while- a good excuse to take a break this week.
Not much, but we still need staples, like bread, milk, fruit.
Canned Del Monte fruit for less than $1 per can is a decent buy. My kids love mandarin oranges.
Not many good deals at all! I’ll be skipping Rainbow this week too and will be going to Aldi for staple items and save this week’s grocery budget for a better sale.
Hormel Fully Cooked Entrées are regularly $6.99
Do we know if doubling coupons on Saturdays will continue after Oct 1st? Everything I’ve seen says until 10/1.
I haven’t seen any info on extending the date either, Jen. Hopefully they will let us know soon.
Just a heads up… i bought 10 cans of del monte tomatoes and the $3 did not come off my total like it was supposed to. So keep your eyes open :)
I noticed a peelie for $1.00 off 2 24 packs of Coke products at Rainbow (does not say do not double) so they would be $4.99 per case with a doubled coupon. That is not a bad price for this time of year. I miss summer pop prices!
I noticed the sale price was for 20 packs of coke in the paper…I saw these 20 packs somewhere else recently – I think a gas station. Only two more months till Thanksgiving…prices will probably drop then as they do most holidays. I have the hardest time between New Year’s and Memorial Day. What an addict I am, but I don’t drink coffee or tea, at least.
Oh the hormel entrees deal, since the country crock sidedish is free, wouldn’t the final price be $5.49 instead of $6.24?
Early morning, hope my math is right ;)
Westpac Premium or Quick n’ Easy Vegetables $1.66
Use $0.35/1 from 9/11 Smart Source #1 insert
Final price: $0.96 after doubled coupon (I’m not sure what “premium” vegetables are, but regular Westpac frozen veggies often go on sale for $1/bag during fall/winter months)
Westpac Premium veggies are broccoli florets and the veggie blends which never go on sale for $1, so $1.66 (before coupon) is a pretty decent price.
I was thinking the same thing…I think it is a 16 oz bag too which makes the per oz. price better than Aldi’s by far. I paid $1 (I think?) for the Steam of the Crop bags a few weeks ago and they are only 12 oz.
On Sat eve. my checker told me that there was a woman who did EIGHTEEN transactions and held up the line for 45 min. Really?? Let’s think about others that are in line behind us. What a disappointment that would have been if I was in that line, I would have had to leave with nothing as my kids will NOT hold up standing in a line for that long.
I thought there was limit of 6 tranactions per day per card for doubling. Even so, the store had the right to limit the customer. They were both in the wrong.
I thought it was 6 or 7 as well. 18? Yikes. I have done four before, but did transactions #1 and 2, went out to my car, then went back and shopped in the store and did #3 and 4
I have done 4 but I have them already in individual baskets and the coupons in the basket, and it goes just as quick as one transaction. I would be embarrassed to do that many.
Yes, I believe the limit is 7 as well. My Rainbow will ask you to go to the end of the line if you want to do more than 2 transactions. Typically, I only do 2, but on occassion, have run out to car to drop off the dry goods and the ran back in to do the frozen/fresh stuff in another transaction or two if I have more coupons.
I think you can actually use the card as many times as you want to double (since doubling isn’t linked to a card), but the gas rewards program benefits (and other programs like the Baby Club they used to have) stop ringing up after 7.
The card will not work at the eighth transaction. I tried 8 transactions in one day at different Pick N Saves. You can’t get the store specials or double coupons because you need to have scanned the card for the coupons to double. If someone did 18 transactions, she must have different store cards although maybe Rainbow’s registers are programmed different too.
I was able to do 9 transactions and my doubling worked on all 9. A cashier opened up a separate lane for me to do mine. She was super sweet!
Coupons double an unlimited # of times, but you only earn FuelPerks on a limited number of transactions per day.
Hum, I wonder if maybe Pick N Save is different on this one…I’ve only been able to do 7 as well, and then it beeps if it is scanned an 8th time and won’t accept it. I shop PNS in WI. We don’t have FuelPerks at most stores in my area so maybe the cards are handled differently?
I heard the same complaint from one of my cashiers too about a lady holding up a line for 1 1/2 hours! Sheesh! She said almost all of the lady’s coupons were not even for the item on the coupon and beeped, everything was out of order, AND she had a ton of transactions! Glad I wasn’t there…and glad they know I’m different and appreciate my organization more now, even some of the “crabby cashiers” are less crabby for me. LOL Silver lining? :-)
That would be neat to see. 18 x 5 = 90 doubles?! That person must have done a lot of gift cards, otherwise thats a lot of filler stuff to buy
I dont think I’ve ever had that many doubles I wanted to do. Last week I ran 3 transactions, but that was just becuase I had rain checks. (I do each seperately and take to the car in between).
Would you rather be behinf 1 person doing 18 trans, or 18 people doing 1 each?
.
probably a bit of an exageration on the cashiers part after a long day, no store would allow 18 transactions, unless the store was slow. which location was it?
Lakeville-a manager told me. She’s always very friendly, greets my kids by name, gets them a balloon. Maybe an exageration, but why??
your store manager is really friendly~~~~~
The Maplewood location has started limiting it to 5 transactions per day, one transaction per time through the line. One cashier was very polite in informing me of this policy the week before it started. Last week, I did 4 transactions around 6:30am on Saturday. Barely anyone in the store, but I still followed the rules and went out to my car after each transaction. My 4th time through, the cashier was very rude. It hurts everyone when people try to push the limits, and it bugs me when people don’t make an effort to understand and follow the policies. But when we’re following the rules and being considerate, I don’t like being treated poorly.
Joy – Thank you for modeling good behavior. I’m a firm believer in doing the right thing because it’s right, not because you’ll get caught if you don’t. Well done!
After last night, I don’t want to hear people complaining that couponers hold up the line…the lady in front of me (no coupons) dumped out her entire change purse on the counter to pay for her $7.86 bill. Then she didn’t have enough, and had to put something back. Then, the cashier had to sort it all into the drawer. My two, carefully planned and organized orders took way less time!

Just realized we were low on hot sauce, and picked up a couple coupons on the Frank’s site: http://www.franksredhot.com/. Poor planning, as for awhile I was getting it for free or near free, but the larger bottles are a part of the Price Cap for $2.99, if I remember the display, coupons are 50cents. Possibly a better deal on a smaller bottle.
According to Rainbow’s website the 8oz tubs of Philadelphia Cream Cheese are indeed included in the sale ($2.55 shelf price, in case anyone was curious).
Alex
Hi.
A few weeks back I bought a Pillsbury Frosting and I believe it was $1.59 if my spread sheet is correct.
on the Kraft Dressing, are you using two manufacturer coupons? Or is one a store coupon?
I too am somewhat relieved to skip Rainbow this week – I could get free salad, but nothing else worth going for. Last week was probably my best ever. I go to Cub when there are less deals at Rainbow – produce is so much better and in general they are cheaper for the non sale items.
Rainbow has the Crave cat treats (coupon for a free one in last weeks paper) use this at Rainbow to count towards your $25.00 minimum on Wednesday or Saturdays.
They also have the Fabreeze luminarys, base = $6.99 and shade = $4.99. These will bring your bill up by $11.00 but after using the “buy a shade get a base free” (-$6.99) and $2.00 off the shade coupon, your out of pocket is only $3.00.
Take advantage of the Hamburger/Tuna Helper when its on sale and then use double coupons. Buy 5 and get a $2.00 off meat coupon. Use this for the Tuna thats price capped or along with the Golden Plump chicken coupon from last weeks paper.
Rainbow always seems to have something on clearance or half price in the pharmacy section.
there was a gold’n plump coupon in last weeks paper? where?
I believe the Gold N Plump was A3 in the Tribune. I’ve recycled the paper but it was in the first couple pages.
From 25th or 18th? I couldn’t find it in my Star Tribune…this is such a bummer. That would’ve been a GREAT coupon to have!! :(
Sept. 18th
thanks sue!
The 18th. Check out the GNP website,Smartsource, couponscom online as I’ve printed from these sites previously. I have extras but by mailing it defeats the discount.
Yep, I used that coupon (Crave Treats) last week, nice filler. The shelf price was $1.39 (or thereabouts). I don’t have cats but will be giving them to someone who does, instead of just giving her the coupons…so we both benefit! :-)
Has anyone been to the Chaska Rainbow this morning? Is there any Colgate Optic White Toothpaste? They’ve been out for weeks and want to make sure my planning is in order for my evening trip. :)Thanks.
I was at Chaska Rainbow this morning and they are still out of the toothpaste. :(
I can’t get the Chobani coupon to print. I enabled cookies exactly as it said, but still no go. Has anyone else gotten it to work?
Shauna,
I was able to print the Chobani coupon. You may want to try it again. Maybe for some reason it wasn’t working temporarily. Good luck! :)
I don’t remember seeing this advertised, but there is BOGO free on Golden Plump Chicken breasts at Rainbow Foods (Shops at West End, St. Louis Park).
I found a $1/2 Olay body wash but no $1/1 Olay, is this an oops or did I miss something?
Michelle,
After looking through that insert, I was only able to find the $1/2 as well.
Totino’s party pizzas are $1.00 and there is a $1.00/2 coupon which can be doubled. 2 free. There is also a free Redbox offer with the cheese pizzas when you buy 4. The $1.00/2 coupon is located in the Walmart Pocket your dollar section.
Michele,
Wow, that sounds like a great deal! Did you see that those pizzas were $1.00 at your store? I didn’t see that in the ad. Just curious! Thanks for the deal!
Yes they were in the ad for my Pick n Save. Muskego Wi. 10/$10 sale ends today.
I tried the Totino’s today, they’re not on sale, at least at my store. However, the tag from last week’s sale was still on the shelf, so they had to give me that sale price (and then they removed the tag). So I still got them for free after doubled coupon :)
Good deal you got. My Pick n Save(Roundy’s) store ads are a week behind yours I believe on some items.
Michele,
Thanks for the info! You found a great deal! :)
The pizza’s were not on sale at Maplewood store, but I still picked them up for 1.69 a piece, so .69 cents a pizza is still good for me. Thanks :-)
Organic Girl Green Onions are $1.99 and there is a $2.00 coupon located in the Walmart pocket your dollar section.
FYI Tried the Dannon Activia Parfait coupon today $1/3 it doesn’t double only takes off $1.09 which is regular shelf price for the parfaits =(
I didn’t use this coupon this week, but it should have doubled in my opinion. Since the coupon is on 3 items, the regular price of all 3 is higher than the doubled value.
That’s what I thought, too. But I decided this time to let it go. I have four kids and sometimes I have to pick and choose what to go and discuss at Customer Service =)
This happened to me too at Copps in Green Bay. The $3.00 for the Delmonte purchase didn’t work either. I called and I am stopping there today; I hopefully will have some answers.
There’s a $2 coupon for organic girl produce on their website. The clam shell salads are $3.79 this week. Not sure if Rainbow will take it since there’s no watermark – but I’m going to try.
I have used the Organic Girl coupon at the Woodbury Rainbow without any problems.
There’s a $1/1 Rice Dream coupon on their website. The organic is on sale for $3 this week.
Last week the Talenti gelato was $3.99 at the St. Louis Park store. Use it with the $1/1 coupon from the Coupon Cut Back book (expires 9/28). My family loves the Tahitian Vanilla Bean.
You can definitely tell it’s an “off” week for Rainbow! I went around noon today and usually I spend at least 15 minutes waiting to checkout, today I got right through. The bummer was, I handed the cashier my coupons in correct order (to get my $1 off ones to double, and not the lesser ones)…and she mixed them all up so I had puny ones doubling!! My 11 month old was acting up a bit so I wasn’t paying too much attention, then I got out to the car and realized one of my freebie coupons that was supposed to be a $3 value, she rung up at $.30. Boo!! Wasn’t worth dragging my daughter back into the store…maybe I can bring my receipt back on Saturday for them to fix it?
Erin I would call 1st & let them know about the mistake. I am sure they will correct if for you.
WOOHOO! Just found out the Pick N’ Save in Germantown, WI (and likely others) will be doing a Double Days this Saturday. Hopefully it will keep up for following Saturdays…
Mine in Oconomowoc is doing it, but just saying it’s 1 time only.
Looks like this weekend we’re getting a Moments To Save booklet in the paper.
Pepsi, Lipton, Sobi, Tropicana, Lay’s, Tostito’s, Chito’s and Quaker… here’s the link to the cover page indicating which items we’ll get coupons for: http://www.pepsicomomentstosave.com/
Looks like you can print now: http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=Q4NDUHYKVIMDK
had a problem selecing all so doing several at a time worked
Scored on Starbucks Via today!
They had the Vanilla flavored 7-pack on clearance 50% off, so $3.74, used $2/1 from 9/11 SmartSource, Final Price: $1.74. PLUS, when you buy any 2 Starbuck Bagged Coffee or Via (excl. 3 pack), it generates a Cat for a $5 Starbucks GC (code to get it online, then print it or add to an existing SB card)! So it was a $1.52 MM (in SB $).
Even if you bought the Via at full price (which was $7.48), you could still get them for $2.98/pack.
There may be a better deal senario with the bagged coffee too. Expires Sunday so if either of these items go on sale or coupons come up, it could get even sweeter.
From their site: Buy any two (2) packages of Starbucks® Coffee or Starbucks VIA® Ready Brew, or combination, between 9/5/2011 and 10/2/2011 at participating retailers and receive a code at checkout good towards a $5 Starbucks Card eGift redeemable online.
Need a coupon for Phili cream cheese. Anyone have one. The link from this site is not there.
When I’m looking for something, I go to printablecouponsanddeals.com they have a link to an active 1/1 coupon for Phil Cream Cheese. Do a search and you’ll find it :)
Hey all! I do coupon match-ups for Mackenthun’s of Waconia. I also do match-ups for Jubilee of Mound and Becker (Jubilee doubles coupons up to $0.50). My website is http://emssoapbox.blogspot.com/ I also have a Facebook page that you can visit at http://www.facebook.com/emily.rinke#!/pages/Ems-Soapbox/187565751315665. I’d appreciate it if you would spread the word if you know of anyone in the areas of these stores who could benefit from these ad matches. I don’t do this for any other reason (money, fame -Ha!, or recognition) than to help people save money. And, as always, thanks to Carrie and the girls for letting me use this to spread the word! <3
It appears that a person can print as many Palermo’s Pizza coupons as they wish. I don’t feel right doing so, especially because each coupon is exact regarding the bar code number/serial number. However, the coupon says, “limit one coupon per item purchased.” I always want to use coupons in an honest way, but I’m not sure what to think about this situation. I know that there is usually a two coupon print limit, but not this time. I’m confused. Just wondering what others think.
I’m planning my first double coupon trip to rainbow tomorrow and have a question. Since I’m just getting into couponing I had to print out a lot of them from coupons.com. I noticed the bar code starts with a “5″. They do not say that they can’t be doubled. Will Rainbow double these or will they not work. They are all $1.00 or less. Thanks..so new to this and learning a lot!
Coupons with a barcode beginning with ’5′ will double. Coupons with a barcode beginning with a ’9′ will not. If all of yours begin with a 5 you should be fine.
“It appears that a person can print as many Palermo’s Pizza coupons as they wish. I don’t feel right doing so, especially because each coupon is exact regarding the bar code number/serial number. However, the coupon says, “limit one coupon per item purchased.” ”
“limit one coupon per item purchased” means that you can only use one of those types of coupons per item. You can stack a store coupon with the manufactures coupon, but you can not use two of those manufactures coupons on a single item. You can buy several of the same item however and use a coupon on each seperate duplicate item.
I’m not sure about the lack of printing restrictions. I ran into that the other day with a different coupon. If you are not blocked, then I’m not sure what the ethical thing would be. When it happened to me, I printed off two like I normally do. I am interested in how others view this topic so thank you for posing the question!
I got next week’s ad. There is no double game for the coming Saturday any more.
