Mark your calendar for several fall festivals going on this weekend or stop by Home Depot in Maple Grove (and possibly other locations) for Fire Safety Day on Saturday. What other local deals have you recently discovered?
Free Grand Opening Gala
The Cathedral Hill Montessori School in St. Paul is celebrating their grand opening with a free event on Saturday, 10/1 from 2-6pm. Kids and families can enjoy puppet-making, face-painting, a bouncy castle, free food and drinks, and live music from local artists (including Chris Koza – I love Chris Koza!).
Free Lynde Greenhouse & Nursery Fall Festival
This annual fall event in Maple Grove is this Saturday, 10/1 starting at 10am. Kids events (which run until 1pm) include gourd decorating, pumpkin bowling, face painting and more. Other events, including a showcase of local artists, run until 3pm. Snacks and beverages will be provided for everyone.
Carrie and her family have gone to this the past two years and have really enjoyed themselves. I’m hoping to make it there with my family this year, too – maybe we’ll see you there!
Free St. David’s Center 6th Annual Fall Festival
If Maple Grove isn’t in your neck of the woods, St. David’s Center in Minnetonka is also having a Fall Festival this Saturday, 10/1 from 10am-2pm. Check out yoga, dancing, horse-drawn wagon rides, nature crafts, a climbing wall and more.
Free Fire Safety Day at Maple Grove Home Depot
Meet Maple Grove firefighters and police offers as well as hospital emergency staff on Saturday, 10/1 from 9am-2pm at Home Depot in Maple Grove. Free hotdogs and popcorn will be available, and Sparky the Fire Dog and McGruff the Crime Dog will be there to take pictures with kids.
Kids can also build and paint a Fire Rescue helicopter toy at the Home Depot Kids’ Workshop that morning from 9am-12pm. These workshops are designed for children ages 5-12; all kids also receive a free apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
Free Screening of “Real Steel”
Check out a free screening of “Real Steel” tonight (9/26) in Bloomington or Wednesday, 9/28 in Roseville courtesy of Film Metro. To get your tickets (two per Film Metro member), click “Event Details” next to your chosen screening, then click “Register to Download Tickets” to create a new account (or login to your account if you already have one – it’s free!).
You’ll need to print the page that comes up and bring it to the theater. Seating is first-come, first-served and theaters are always overbooked to ensure a full house, so get there early! (Thanks, The Coupon Sista!)
Feel free to contact us if you know of any additional coupons, deals and events available to readers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. You can also access a Google calendar of all of the time-sensitive offers we post.
Your turn: Have you been to any of these events before? What other local events are going on this weekend?

Thanks for mentioning :)!
