Find out who has the best school supply deals this week as we price compare almost 40 items at 10 national stores. Use the ”Lowest price this season” column to gauge whether something is a hot or a mediocre deal.
Below is a scrollable Excel-type look at this week’s comparison chart (only one page is viewable below. You’ll need to print the pdf or download the Word doc to see all three pages). You can also print a pdf version of it to carry with you as you shop.
To view this list on the web click on the button in the upper left-hand corner of this document viewer (it looks like a dark square inside another square).

Your turn: How are you coming along on your school supply shopping?

Really disappointed in Target and Walmart this year (compared to last).
I’m pretty sure I saw 1 subject notebooks for .15 @ Walmart.
This is a great spreadsheet. It would be really interesting/helpful to see it updated with the week’s current prices at each store for the items listed. (IE: This week crayons are .40 at Walmart vs. .25 at Walgreens etc.–I made that up as an example.) I think that would be good bc then you’d know when to pull the trigger on certain (more expensive) supplies. (Esp for things like when buy 2 get one free sounds good but it’s not.)
Can someone comment on where they would shop for school supplies if they were to go to just one location and get it done with coupons? I don’t have time to go to all the different stores and would really just like to shop one store and just use coupons.
THANKS!
I would do Target or Shopko.
Thanks Ali!
Definitely Walmart. Cheapest – even though I hate going there ;-)
Almost done with shopping for supplies, but Walmart was out of the .15 notebooks when I was there last week. Wonder if they restock those? (even stocked up on cardstock poster boards when they were .25 earlier this summer :) )
I went to Staples last night to pick up a bunch of pocket folders for .05 cents, they had no clue what I was talking about.
