Toothbrushes and John Frieda hair care products are free after Extra Bucks with the right coupons. You’ll also be able to find great prices on children’s toothpaste, digestive care products, Zantac, Pantene, and more.
While this week’s ad is filled with great deals on personal care items, with the back-to-school season starting to get underway, it is definitely lacking in that department with only one deal worth mentioning. Hopefully we will start to see free-after-Extra Bucks school supplies deals in the next couple of ads as we did last year around this time.
If you’re new to CVS, your first step is to learn the ins and outs of the Extra Bucks program and learn how to read this shopping list. For those who use reusable bags, you may want to buy a green bag tag.
Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. We will update this list as readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas or we read about other deals across the blogosphere. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.
Your turn: What other deals did you find this week at CVS?

Gillette Fusion ProSeries Sensitive Face Wash and Gillette Fusion ProSeries Instant Hydration UV Moisturizer are both on clearance at CVS.
They normally cost $7.99 and $8.99 respectively but were on clearance for $1.94 and $2.12
Using the Gillette ProSeries Skin Care Product $2/1 6/5/2011 P&G coupons you can get the face wash for free and the moisturizer for just $0.12!
I picked up 3 of each. =)
These were not marked as being on clearance at either of the CVS stores I went to but I did a price check at the coupon machine and indeed they are on clearance just as I read
I will look for that-thanks!
My daughter will be excited to buy more kiddo tpaste–almost like getting a treat at cvs. Also, if your cvs accepts competitor coupons you can use the Target web coupon for $1 off of Papetmate products to get two pkgs for free or buy one for a $.50 overage.
JoAnna, what CVS do you buy at?
Chanhassen
Extra Buck deal: Buy 3 Pepsi 12-packs for 3/$10, Get $3 Extra Bucks (Limit 1)
Deal idea:
Buy three Diet Pepsi 12-packs, and use three $0.75/1 Diet Pepsi 12oz can 12-pack coupons in 7/17 Smart Source insert (also in the 7/13 mailed Smart Source in Minneapolis)
Final price $1.58 each after Extra Bucks
I see in the CVS ad this week that olay.com is supposed to have a $20 rebate when you buy $50 but I don’t see it on their website? Does anyone know if this is true? Where is the form?
I tried to use a Similac check last time they had a baby sale and they wouldn’t accept it!! Anyone else have trouble using them at CVS?
We use to be able to do our CVS deals on Saturday afternoon, after 3 pm for both the current week and the upcoming week’s ads. I went to do it last Saturday and the upcoming week did not register in the computer as it normally does. This is a change that I wasn’t aware of, so thought I’d share in the event it helps someone else out. So . . . even though the new ad’s deals are posted on PYD on Saturday, you can’t cash in on them until Sunday when the ad “actually starts”, per the register at my CVS, now. Bummer!
Melissa – I talked with a cashier at a CVS near me and she mentioned that different stores can choose when to activate the sales as long as it’s anytime after 4pm. Some stores choose to activate them early, some don’t. My guess is that whatever store you shop at decided to switch.
Mine is the Brooklyn Park location. Laura, do you frequent Maple Grove? If I remember correctly you’re in the vicinity of Champlin? Thanks!
Melissa – I regularly visit both Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove. The cashier I talked to was actually at the Brooklyn Park location, but I talked to her several weeks ago so it must have changed since then. I did notice that they now except EBs only 30 days expired, not 60 like it used to be. :(
4:00 in Apple Valley…
No prints remaining on the olive oil coupon.
Thanks, Violet!
Bummer! I was going to use that at Pick N Save…they have the Extra Virgin on Cut Back for $3.90 for the 16.x oz. bottle…woulda made a great deal! Bummer! :-(
Sarah – I just got this coupon via email and added it to the list; I’m hoping it works for more than just me. Let me know if it doesn’t work for you: http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=MDGK7LCGWXRWI
Thanks Laura! I hope it works for someone…for some reason SmartSource has blocked me from printing their coupons and I’ve given up trying to communicate with a live, thinking person about it, even with the number they say I “HAVE TO” reference I keep getting computer generated responses and no resolution. Such a bummer because I’ve missed out on tons of coupons over the past couple months. Someone I talked to on the phone claims that someone may have tried to copy one of the coupons I printed and it was reported or flagged or something?…none of which they are able to prove or, it seems, fix. How a printed coupon could be linked to a specific computer is beyond me! LOL I figure it must have happened at one of the stores in my area though because they the same “freeze” on my other computer too and even a friend of mine’s computer. Since we frequent the same stores, there must have been someone doing something funny with coupons. Very annoying, especially when I’m so careful to be ethical, fair, and honest. :-(
Just Checking To See If We Received The Red Plum In The Minneapolis Paper
I Might Have Grabbed A Bad Paper. Thanks
c-
We were scheduled to receive only the smart source insert today.
Ok Thank You
I tried to do the John Freida deal at the Robbinsdale CVS and was told they are not offering Extra Bucks on the products now. I ended up just returning the products and got my coupons back.
Did they say why? I thought it was a month long deal.
Does anyone know about the Olay Rebate the CVS ad is talking about?! Its not up on the website:(
It wasn’t there on Sunday but it’s there now:
http://www.olay.com/publishingimages/offers/rebate/july152011/crossbrandpg/20_olay.pdf
Thanks for the reply! I came home from work and saw it today! YAY!
I have four Similac $5 checks that I can send to the first two people who respond and send a SASE. My email is s_ buck 3 at hotmail dot com. (remove spaces and add characters).
I thought the $2 ECB for the GIllette shave gel was only on the 7oz. size?
The Kleenex 200 box was $2.27, so with the B1G1 and the .60/3 printable I had, I bought 6 boxes for $5.61 plus tax. I didn’t pay attention to the cost of the other varieties of Kleenex on sale.
The john Frieda deal IS still active. I called CVS on tuesday and wednesday, and they eventually said they had someone looking into the problems with this deal. I’ve heard that others are now getting this to work again, but if you previously purchased john frieda earlier this week and its not showing on your receipt, you may need to call CVS extracare (number is on the back of your card) and they can force the ECB to print.
Thanks, Larry!
Another Jule monthly ECB deal:
Buy 6 Pepsi or Lipton 20 oz bottles -or- .99/1.29 Frito-Lay Snack bags get one free
So I tried this deal this morning. I bought 6 Lipton green tea bottles at the $1 sale price, and received this unusual ECB:
Extrabucks
$1.89
rewards
1 free 20oz Pepsi or Single-serve Frito Lay
(up to $1.89 value)
Limit is at least 3.
But like most monthly deals, you should purchase only enough for the ECB deal, then purchase more in separate transactions to be sure of getting the ECB’s multiple times.
Thanks Larry. I did not see this deal marked today. Will try the price scanner
The gillete fusion travel size shave cream was marked at my store for the ecb deal :)
Wondering which CVS’s take expired ECB? Thanks!
Kristin-
Chanhassen and Eden Prairie accept expired ECBs.
how long expired can they be?
I just called the Robbinsdale CVS and I was told they will take them if they are only a few days expired.
A deal idea that worked for me at CVS last night: the coupon machine gave me a $5/20 for skincare and a $7 off Lumene Excellent future products. I like Lumene, so I thought I would try it. The cheapest was an eye cream at $23. With the $5 ECB, it came to about $6 for the eye cream. If only we had gotten the Lumene coupon in the Twin Cities, it would have made it even better. Thanks to PYD!
any reason why we cannot use 3 of the $2 Clean & Clear coupons on the deal?
