Amazon: Free $5 Video on Demand Credit (Twitter Offer)

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

If you have a Twitter account, Amazon is offering a free $5 Video on Demand credit now through Tuesday, July 19, when you link your Amazon.com account to your Twitter account.

Unrelated to Amazon, be sure to follow me on Twitter (@CarrieRocha). I sometimes post time-sensitive deals there that don’t make it to the website or daily email, plus other randomness from my life. After you follow me, then include me in a message so I know to follow you back.

Now, back to the deal at hand. Here’s how to receive your free credit:

  1. Visit this specific Amazon page and click on the “Tweet and get $5” button (if you are not already logged into your Amazon account, you will have to click on the “Sign in to continue” button first).
  2. You will then be prompted to login to your Twitter account (if you are not already logged in) and allow an application to run by clicking on the blue “Authorize app” button. This application will automatically have you follow @amazonvideo and will tweet a specific congratulatory message from your account (done only once) about receiving your $5 credit.
  3. Once these steps have been completed, your free $5 Amazon Video on Demand credit will be applied to your Amazon.com account.

Credit may not be used for certain titles and must be used by August 31. Limit 1 promotional credit per Amazon.com customer.

Don’t have a Twitter account? You will have the option to sign up for one when you are prompted to login and allow the application.

If you don’t feel comfortable giving Amazon access to your Twitter account, you can revoke this access once you receive your $5 credit by going to your Twitter account settings, selecting “Connections” and clicking the link that says “Revoke Access”.

Thanks, Centsable Momma!

Your turn: Do you know what movie you are going to rent from Amazon’s Instant Video store using this free $5 Video on Demand credit?

I’ve never heard of Amazon Video on Demand. It appears to be something sort of like Netflix?
