  1. Carrie,

It costs $20 to become a REI member. With membership you get a dividend on your purchases, 20% off coupons 3-5 times a yr and easy returns when you forget your receipt.

  2. The ability to do returns is actually quite amazing. I bought a pair of 90 dollar chacos (sandals) that ended up hurting my feet and didn't wear them for about 5 years, because I bought them when I had a membership, I returned them with no receipt and got my 90 cash back less my dividend …so that was like 84 dollars! I have done that with a pair of snowboard pants too that I bought early in my pregnancy and now are way too big, but you get the total you paid for back! Its quite a deal. No questions asked no matter how used it is!

  3. Sorry to say, but that is taking advantage of the store! 5 years is WAY TOO long and changing your size. Get real! No wonder the store has to increase their prices.
