Both Redbox and Blockbuster stores (not to be confused with Blockbuster Express kiosks) are running summer promotions to help you save on movie rentals this summer. The Blockbuster store promotion is nice not only for the free movie rentals, but also for those of you who have yet to use those “fancy” movie rental kiosks and prefer the traditional walk-in movie rental stores.
Blockbuster Stores
Through July 4, you can rent an unlimited number of 1-day movie rentals that are priced at $1.99 or less when you download and present the printable coupon found on Blockbuster’s website and rent any new release movie for $2.99. Limit 1 free rental out at a time.
With promotions like this, I advise calling your local Blockbuster store to ensure participation.
Thanks, Coupon Pro Blog!
Redbox
Now through Sunday, June 12, you can get a promo code for a free 1-night movie rental from Redbox when you rent 2 movies in the same transaction. No promo code needed.
You will receive the promo code for your free rental via email with 72 hours of renting your movies. Just be sure to enter your email address at checkout in order to receive your promo code, which will expire 1 week after it is issued.
Movies can be reserved online at Redbox.com or at a Redbox kiosk near you. Limit 1 free rental code per person, per day. Offer cannot be combined with any other promo codes.
Another promotion Redbox will be running (although it doesn’t start until June 22) is Wednesday Discounts on Family Fun. Every Wednesday through July 27, you can get $0.50 off a 1-night movie rental when you reserve a family-friendly DVD, Blu-ray Disc or video game on Redbox.com. Discount will automatically be applied at checkout.
Your turn: With the widespread availability of movie rental kiosks, do you still rent movies at a traditional movie rental store?
