Spend $30, Earn Free $10 Gas Gift Card at CVS (Exp 8/28)

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

While browsing through this week’s CVS ad looking at this week’s CVS shopping list, you probably noticed over a dozen items with a special note about getting free gas. Starting today (5/22), CVS is running a summer-long promotion that will help you save on gas all summer.

Through August 28, you can earn a free $10 gas gift card to Exxon/Mobil, Shell, BP Amoco or BP Arco every time you purchase $30 worth of specially-marked products at CVS. One $10 gift card can be earned per week, meaning you could potentially earn $140 worth of free gas throughout the promotion.

How it works

Every week, CVS will list specially-marked items in its weekly ad which will be tagged with a “get free gas” icon. The items will rotate each week, giving you an opportunity to find products you need or are interested in buying.

Once you spend $30 (before coupons) on eligible items, a special coupon will print at the bottom of your receipt that can be redeemed immediately in-store for a $10 gas card. Or, if you prefer to wait, you will have up to 30 days to redeem the coupon.

Though it definitely helps with the $30 threshold being totaled before coupons, do know that all purchases must be made during the same week in order to earn your free gift card. However, the purchases do not have to be in the same transaction and can be made at multiple CVS store locations.

Now, I wouldn’t run out and buy with a special note just to get free gas (especially if it’s not a great deal), but it’s definitely worth an extra look each week to see if you need any of the special items.

Your turn: Were you able to earn your free $10 gas gift card this week?

I had plans on tring to do this deal yesterday. I had 6 $1 Tostito Q’s(expired yesterday), 2 $1.50 M&M Q’s, I don’t recall what else. The expiration date on the chips were June 9th!! I’ve learned to make sure to check dates lately, I’m glad I did this time. Maybe I’ll try later in the week.

I think most CVS stores take expired coupons if they’re within a few weeks.

Chanhassen does not take MQ expired but they take CVS coupons and ECBs expired.

Eden Prairie CVS is AWESOME – they also take competitors coupons, so I frequently use Target coupons along with manufacturers coupons on ECB deals for more savings. Love that place. I have never had bad customer service.
