Whoops! I made a silly mistake. As you’ll read at the bottom of this blog post, Laura drafted this post weeks ago. I polished it up a few days ago and published it to the website. But, the publish date was backdated to April 19, so unless you were roaming through deals from that timeframe, you wouldn’t have seen this. Sorry about that as the selection may have dwindled since I first published this on Monday.

Shop Taste of Home is having another fantastic sale on Taste of Home cookbooks now through May 2. 55+ cookbooks are marked down to just $5 each, making them as much as 80% off the original price. Are you thinking Mother’s Day gifts? I might be. Well, except my mom is probably reading this so the element of surprise is foiled. All together, “Hi mom!”
Through 4/26 the following coupons should help you save on shipping (I’ll update with new ones after the 26th, if they become available):
Free shipping on orders $25+ with code LST49 at checkout$1 shipping per item with code LST48 at checkoutSave 10% on your order with code LST51 at checkout
Here’s what I found for current promo codes that should work alongside this sale:
- Free shipping when you spend $20 with the code 401 at checkout
- Pay $1 shipping per book with code 1131 at checkout, no minimum purchase required
- Save 10% with the code CABIN at checkout (maybe it will save you 15%. I am getting conflicting info about it)
Please note that while this sale is being advertised as going through May 2, products are only available while supplies last; if history holds true, this is a hot sale and books often sell out long before the end date of the sale.
A couple of titles that looked good to me include (browse all $5 titles):
Everyday Slow Cooker & One Dish Recipes (80% off)
The Vegetarian Cookbook (80% off)
Favorite Casseroles (80% off)
And of course one that contains dessert recipes :) Contest Winning Recipes (80% off)
If you browse all the $5 titles you’ll notice also some seemingly random Birds & Bloom books (no relation to the cookbooks, thankfully) and a Handyman title.
P.S. – Shop Taste of Home emailed me in early April with a head’s up that the sale was coming. I was so excited that I asked Laura to draft a skeleton of this blog post before she had her baby so that I’d be sure to remember to tell you about it. Yep, another indication I am a deal geek. As if we needed more evidence.

Your turn: Which cookbook(s) did you purchase? Are you keeping these for yourself or giving them as gifts?

you can get free shipping on orders over $20 using code 401
I might be doing something wrong, but my order is over $20 and it assessed the shipping charge. I tried entering the 1131 code and that did not work.
Any suggestions????
Thank you
Just got several Christmas gifts taken care of, thanks!
Great cookbooks at a wonderful price. Thanks
Thank you – I’m taking advantage of a few of these! Just a caution that some of the 2010 annual cookbooks seem to come with a subscription deal that they’ll send you notice of a preview book you’ll receive unless you tell them not to.
Thanks soo much for this tip. I’m a cook-book-aholic! I read them like other read novels. I got 8 really nice books!
I got to the checkout and can’t find where to enter the code for shipping. Can someone help me?
Thank you, thank you , thank you for posting this deal. Between the cook books and the cute aprons that were on here earlier this week I have awesome Mother’s Day gifts.
I only ordered one book and couldn’t get the code 1131 to work, but I found another code 2046P (P must be capital) that did allow me get $1 shipping.
I received an order confirmation yesterday and am confused… I ordered 8 books ($40) + free shipping. I checked my online banking acct and a charge of $15 was on it. So I did a little digging, One place I looked said all books are in-stock, another say some are no longer available. Did anyone else come across this?
