I (Laura) am not a big movie-goer, but when I do want to see a movie (whether in the movie theater or at home), I like to get the best deal possible. Here are three different deals available right now that can help you save on the latest new releases.
Groupon/Blockbuster Express
Get 5 Blockbuster Express movie rentals for just $2 total from Groupon through 11pm CST today (Thursday, 3/10). While this deal is available through Groupon Philadelphia, it can be purchased and used anywhere nationwide. Limit 1 per person; valid through 5/1/13.
Redbox Rental Referral Program
Earn free movie rentals for referring friends to Redbox when you create or login to your Redbox account, then send your referral link on to friends and family. You’ll receive a credit for each friend that clicks on your link and completes an online reservation through Thursday, 3/17. Please note that you will only receive credit for paid transactions, so if your friend uses a coupon code, you won’t receive a credit. (Thanks, Deal Seeking Mom!)
AMC Movie Package through CityDeals
Order an AMC movie package through CityDeals and you’ll receive a voucher via postal mail good for two movie tickets, two small drinks and one small popcorn. This may be a better deal for some rather than others because movie tickets prices vary greatly nationwide. Your drinks and popcorn vouchers can also be used toward the purchase of larger-sized items, if you’d like.
Your turn: Which of these deals did you get in on? How often do you go to the movie theater and/or rent from a Redbox or Blockbuster Express location?
**Disclosure: Actions you take from the hyperlinks within this blog post may yield commissions for Pocket Your Dollars.com. See Pocket Your Dollars’ disclosure statement for more details.

Laura, I clicked on the 2 links under the AMC deal for CityDeals. The page loaded with a 404 Page Not Found error. Can you verify the links? I love going to see movies in theaters but it can be incredibly pricy these days. And the Blockbuster Express deal sounds fabulous. Too bad there are so few in the Mpls area.
Jody – The links should work now. Thanks for the heads up!
