Free eBooks for Nook & PC (Incl. a Cookbook), Games for Kindle + Free Audio Book

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

We found some free eBooks and an audiobook that should cover everyone whether you read on a PC, a Kindle or a Nook, or like to listen to your books.

Your turn: Other than the library, do you get free books online somewhere that we should know about and share with everyone?

Free Kindle Games

Amazon is currently offering 6 free games for Kindle. Games include Word Morph, Mine Sweeper, Every Word, Shuffled Row, Blackjack and Jumble. I am not sure how long these games will be free so I would grab them sooner rather than later. (Thanks, Frugally Thrifty!)

Free Nookbook ($10.99 Value)

Free eBooks for the Nook are rare, so I’m thrilled to have found one. Whisper on the Wind, by Maureen Lang, is available free from the Barnes & Noble website. (Thanks, Freebies 4 Mom!)

Free eCookbook for any PC

Amazon is also offering a free download of Circle of Friends Cookbook 25 Slow Cooker Recipes right now. Although this download is available in the Amazon Kindle store, you can download and view this cookbook on your Smartphone or computer. (Thanks, For the Mommas!)

Free Christian Audio Book

Christian Audio’s free audiobook this month is The Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul. No coupon code is required. Simply visit the website, download and listen.

On the Nook put in 0.00 when searching for a book. This will give you free books that are available.

there is a website called http://www.inkmesh.com – they have free and payable e-books for several of the different devices, sony, nook, and kindle just to mention a couple.

I love my Nook and the fact that I can download books for free from the library makes it even better. Barnes and Noble usually offers a free book every Friday and I have built up quite a collection in the past few months. They are also worth following on Facebook [look up nook in the search bar] for additional free titles. In fact, one was just offered again today – free serialization of James Grippando’s bestselling thriller “When Darkness Falls”.

    Happy Reading!

Books that have expired copyrights can be downloaded from http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page . 33,000 books are available. Lots of classics and other popular titles. If you want suggestions you can search by “Top 100″ at http://www.gutenberg.org/browse/scores/top . If you know what you want, you can search by author or title at http://www.gutenberg.org/catalog/ There are various formats available. E.g., for The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (#2 on yesterday’s top 100), the choices are HTML, EPUB (with images), EPUB (no images), Kindle (with images), Kindle (no images), Plucker, QiOO Mobile, Plain Text UTF-8. I don’t know which viewers use some of those formats, but Kindle is definitely listed on lots of books….

This page tells how to download Project Gutenberg titles to various readers — e.g,. it tells how to download EPUB formats to Nook:

**Sigh* I would have loved to get the Nook book — sounded like a good read — but I refused to input my credit card info for a free book. They claim they store this info to make future purchases and downloads easier but I really don’t want my info languishing in computers all over the place just waiting for hackers to access. Drats …

If you become a fan of the Nook on Facebook they have “Free Fridays” and give away a free book every Friday.

Where is a good place to find free/low cost audiobooks for my ipod? I’m not tech savy so I usually end up getting Audiobooks on CDs and lug them around with my old cd player. Books from Audible are getting too expensive since I only listen to each book once and delete them off my ipod.

  9. BEP says:

Last week this site posted a list of ebooks that were free, but when I clicked on the link, it took me to the Kindle ebook. So I checked B&N, and found that the same books that were free for Kindles were also free through B&N for the Nook. So if you ever hear of a free Kindle ebook that sounds interesting to you, but you have a Nook, remember to check B&N.

Notice that the0.00 trick only gives 3 books now? Still works if you do 0.00 then type a genre or an author. Anyone know a way to get the complete list now?
