Deals at Walgreens this week include free hand sanitizer, cheap toothpaste, and a fantastic deal on Garnier hair color (it’s an even better deal than the one going on at CVS this week).
If you’re new to Walgreens shopping, then learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list. Don’t forget that some other stores will accept Register Rewards like a manufacturer’s coupon. Also, it’s a good idea to print out Walgreens’ official coupon policy and keep it with you in case an issue comes up at checkout.
This is a starting list of deals for the week and is not a comprehensive list of every sale item and its coupons, but just the best deals (things at prices I’d actually pay). We will update this list as readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas or we read about other deals across the blogosphere. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week, we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.
Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2/$4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.

I can always use more hand sanitizer at school.
I got a $5/1 coupon for Nature Made vitamins in the mail last week. (In Rochester) Did anyone else get one? Should make a pretty good deal with this week’s BOGO deal on Nature Made.
Has anyone seen coupons for the new Olay scents?
Can the manufacturer’s coupon (either 1/30 SS or printable) be used in conjunction with the Walgreen’s coupon? The fine print of my Walgreen’s coupon says “Manufacturer’s coupon only good at Walgreen’s.” Thanks!
Oops, forgot to say that’s for the Hershey’s Minis, Drops or Pieces. Sorry about that!
I used both coupons with no problem.
Thanks, Traci!
The Walgreen’s I went to today would not accept both coupons.
There is a $0.50 off any Blue Diamond product coupon on the Blue Diamond website when you register. Makes the almonds a better deal!
Looking forward to my trip to Wags today- from what I can see with the ads, manufacture Q’s and RR I have from last week my pre Q total will be $47.92 (without tax) after Q’s will be $1.68 (plus the tax) and will get $19 back in RR. Hopefully my update is as positive !!!!!
I don’t see much this week?
Jo – if your list works it would be great to post your list.
Thanks Carrie
Dawn – here is the Tally:
Snickers PB Candy Bar 49 cents (4) 2-B1G1F Q’s
Gain/Joy Dish Soap 5/$5 3-$1 q’s for Gain and 2-25 cent Joy Q’s $1 RR given
Gilette Body Wash B1G1 1/2 off (2) $4.99(1) $2.50 (2nd) 2-$2 Q’s
Veripur Hand Sanitizer $3.99 $4 RR Given
OS Cranberry Juice $2.99 – $1 Q $2 RR given
Colgate Toothpaste 2/$5 2-$1 Q’s $3 RR Given
Gillette Deod B1G1 1/2 off $5.49 (1) $2.75 (2nd) $5.49 Q amount given
Coke Zero 20 0z 2/$3 – 2 free Q’s from Coke mailed points program
Gross $ amount was $42.90 less 50% Gillette items ($5.25) less Q’s $16.97) + $20 in RR from last week’s sale net OOP was $3.74 and received back $10 in RR.
I had some Olay Q’s for the $10 get $3 RR but adding it up was not a good deal so that is why the total is $7 less than my planned trip.
Is anyone still doing or know of someone doing packages for the troops. The woman at my office in charge of it no longer works there and would like to thin out my freebie closet a little this month. I can drop off a box or ship to you. Thanks
Wow thanks for posting.
Where did you get the $1 gain dish soap cpns and the OS juice?
It helps to see lists put together. Thanks
I got the $1.00 Gain from the P&G Coupon Booklet. Had to mail in $50.00 in receipts, and then they sent it to you…
Jo,
We do packages for the troops. I have 2 nephews doing ‘rotations’ into Iraq and Afghanistan, so they go to their units. We usually send our boxes at Christmas, but would enjoy sending more.
cindyjo1959@yahoo.com
I see that a dozen eggs are $.99 (up to 3 dozen).
Totally off subject but I was accepted to be host of a house party @ Houseparty.com!!!
We are doing the Huggies “do the Potty dance”
Good for you! I have hosted before, and enjoy it.
Anyone else having trouble printing the Pull Ups coupon? I get a screen with an error message from the Pull ups website when I click on get coupon.
Dove Visible Care Body Wash is only $2 for the 10oz. Use the $1/1 or $1.25/1 from the 1/30 RP. AWESOME deal for a full size body wash.
The link to the Excedrin coupon does not work. :(
Betsy – The Excedrin coupon should work now.
If you happened to have printed out the $2 Kaytee wild bird food coupons off coupons.com a while back (no longer available), they expire today.
And today is good day to redeem them. Mills Fleet Farm has 7 lb bags of Kaytee Premium Songbird Food on sale for $4.49 – so only $2.49 after coupon. That exact same bag is regularly priced at Target for $8.99.
In general, Fleet Farm is a great place for small animal food bargains. We have guinea pigs, and the regular FF prices on their food and hay are half what they are at pet stores and discount stores — good news, as coupons and sales on this stuff are few and far between.
excederin coupon link is not found?
There are $1 peelie coupons on the Right Guard body wash. I got mine free using this after you factor in the RR. The Right Guard that had these coupons was in a special display box sitting in the cosmetics area.
Can you tell me if the diaper deal is great or just so so? Thanks!
Jennifer – It depends on your diaper stockpile. If you don’t have any diapers stockpiled, these is a good price. If you’ve bought bigger boxes through the Amazon diaper deal going on right now (20% off coupons + 30% off discount through Subscribe & Save), I’d say that’s a better deal. I won’t be running out and buying this deal, if that’s what you’re asking, but I might have when I first started couponing.
Where did you find the 8ct Excedrin? I looked but couldn’t find it. Thanks.
I found it in the Travel Size section.
I love Walgreens RR, but it is so hard to shop at my nearest Walgreens when one or two of their managers and one or two of their employees cringe when they see me (the coupon lady). One of the employees told me today that I was committing fraud by trying to hand them a coupon that was of higher value than their rain check. (I tried to explain to her that when it was on sale, the $2.25 was under the sale price. I had the FINISH raincheck – because they weren’t stocked the week of the sale – the original price was $3.49 minus $1.50 RR, so $1.99. I had the $2.25 coupon.). So, after her manager came over, he said he could take $1.99 off my order. I then said you are committing fraud by only taking $1.99 off with my $2.25 coupon. I just hate being looked down upon by these employees. That being said, this store DOES have one employee who likes me! Yay! (Any comments? Should I write to walgreen’s ?)
you poor thing! dont you hate it when people rain on your parade, really why do they really care if we use coupons? Its not the employees problem or money. Some just think they are managers when they arent. Just go in with a smile, dont let them bring you down.
Sarah, I had an issue a couple of weeks ago with a cashier & i did email corporate & they had a manager call me. He was very aloof & really didn’t address my issue. I was trying to do the Maalox deal ( buy $30 & get $10 RR.) The cashier told me I couldn’t get the RR if I used coupons. So I didn’t do the deal. So I lost out. The Manager couldn’t have cared less. All he was interested in was who it was.
Sarah- You may want to consider taking your business elsewhere if addressing the matter with the managers doesn’t resolve the issue. And yes, I would definately share your thoughts with a headquarters or main office of Walgreens as you shouldn’t be treated this way. A few dollars for a business shouldn’t mean losing a customer when the corporation says this is permissable.
There were $2.00 off any Olay product coupons in the Herbal Essence “holiday gift packs/Magazine Deal/Rebate” I got on clearance after Christmas which makes $1.00 for 3 bottles of body wash this week! By the way, has anyone received their rebate on the gift pack/magazine deal yet?
I don’t believe that there is an in-ad coupon for the Honey this week. Anyone spot it?
It’s on page 2 in my ad-lower right hand corner
Anyone recieve the $20 Olay/Venus/Secret rebate yet?
Halls Cough Drop deal:
There is a tear pad next to the Hall cough drops – save 50 cents on one bag (30 ct. or larger). Use the in-ad coupon to get the 30 ct bag for 99 cents AND use the 50 cent off coupon – final price is 49 cents per bag. (Also, look for the 33% larger for free bags – makes the 40 count bags 49 cents.)
I’m confused…can I use a B1G1 coupon on two products that are on a B1G1 sale this week? I have B1G1 coupons for the Old Spice products on sale this week but that seems too good to be true. ;) I read Walgreens coupon policy again but it doesn’t specifically address this. Thank you everyone for all the great info you post here!
Julie – Yes, you should be able to use a B1G1 coupon on a buy one, get one 50% off sale (which the Gillette/Old Spice deal is). In theory, the cashier should take off the value of the full-priced item with the coupon, but not all cashiers will do that.
Where do I get the Home Made Simple booklet?
Heather – You can request a booklet here.
I have a spot in my basement where I put the things I get for free, or really “cheap”, to donate to a woman’s shelter. If I cant use something but can pay a minimal price (.75 cents or less, FREE is best-due to financial “tightness” around here), I usually get it. I feel so great being able to donate PRACTICAL items to a shelter. It can be for a holiday, or just because!! It is SO appreciated. A couple weeks ago I bought $134 worth of stuff for $15 to donate. Razors, shampoo, lotion, etc. Basics are the best, but fun stuff is great too! If you are able to help those less fortunate and pass it on, it makes couponing SO MUCH more FUN!!! Women and childrens shelters;homeless shelters;military, etc!!!! Wonderful feeling =) =) =)
I found the Right Guard body wash at my local Walgreens yesterday with the $1 peelie. Yay! When I was debating which Garnier products to buy, a cashier came by and told me she has some extra coupons for those products if I need them. Everyone is so nice and helpful at my WG – I just had to share! ;)
Julie, that is great to know! I have gone to another Walgreens that is further away and they have wonderful management and service! I’m just sad I can’t get the same service at the Walgreens which is closer to my house. More gas = more $ !
I hope this is okay to post–
I’m wondering if anyone has two extra Garnier Nutrisse haircolor coupons from this last Sunday’s newspapers. I wasn’t able to get extra papers this weekend and would like to do the Walgreens deal this week. Perhaps a coupon trade for something you need?
Erin–
I have 2 extra Garnier Nutrisse haircolor coupons…how would you like to trade?
Hi, Heather. Thanks for your reply! Please email me at erin_elizabeth8000@hotmail.com with a list of coupons you’re interested in and we’ll work something out. :)
Is anyone else having problems when their Register Rewards are scanned? Two times this week the cashier attempted to scan my register Rewards and then told me my total. However the Register Rewards did NOT scan & the amount was NOT deducted from my total. The first time the transaction was already done so the manager had to refund me the $5. The second time I caught that my bill was too high and had her recheck the receipt. She couldn’t even add my 4 register rewards together to get 10 (3+2+4+1). Sometimes I REALLY hate WG….but then I think of the deals!
My Walgreens just got new scanners and have been having issues getting the RR’s scanned, but they just keep trying until it works and takes off the $. Maybe that’s why your store is having issues with them?
The Walgreens in Apple Valley won’t let me use coupons from the coupon book along with manufacturers coupons. This happened this week with the Hershey’s drops/Reese’s Minis, and a couple months ago when I did some kind of Sparking Juice… Needless that’s why I don’t try the deals very often anymore :( They say they are manufacture’s coupons, or this time they said they are “manager’s coupons”… It was still a good enough deal for me on the hershey’s tho. hubby loves the cookies and cream drops.
