If you’re new to Walgreens shopping, then learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list. Don’t forget that some other stores will accept Register Rewards like a manufacturer’s coupon. Also, it’s a good idea to print out Walgreens’ official coupon policy and keep it with you in case an issue comes up at checkout.
If you haven’t noticed, we added a new printing feature to all the shopping lists at Pocket Your Dollars. Each item has a check box before it. Click the boxes for items you want to include on your shopping list, then select “Print my list” at the bottom of the list. You can print a separate list for each store. We actually had to deactivate the printing list feature because it caused the website to crash earlier this week :(
This is a starting list of deals for the week and is not a comprehensive list of every sale item and its coupons, but just the best deals (things at prices I’d actually pay). We will update this list as readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas or we read about other deals across the blogosphere. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week, we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.
Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2/$4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.

On-Going Deals
If you know of any good deals at Walgreens on their regularly-priced items (with a coupon or not), please leave a comment so we can add it to this section of the list. What do you always buy when your Register Rewards are nearing their expiration date, or what are some good standard “filler” items?

The gummy vitamins are just what we need–and now they are free. Thanks :)
I hope I can get some of the Uno games as Target was out right away. Thanks for the list.
My Walgreens had at least 50 UNO games this morning.
In the January Wags coupon booklet there is a Wags coupon for $2 off Loreal Shampoo/Conditioner/Styling product. Not sure if that helps create a deal?
Dawn – It looks like the coupon in the January coupon booklet is for products that aren’t included in the Register Reward deal.
The BIC triumph 2 pack is also free this week with this printable coupon
http://www.bictriumph.com/where_to_find.aspx
Watch this as the register beeps on the second and third q’s for the pens. They need to manual key them in.
It indicates I have already printed the coupon the number of times allowed and I haven’t printed it so think it is out.
Hey
Change the date for the thread to 2011 :)
Walgreen’s ad can be taken to Target for the Uno price match this week. As long as Target has them back in stock.
Thank you for the check box/print list option. Could you also add a “Check all boxes” option?
Thank you for adding the print my list feature!
I agree, great new feature!
For the Special K cereals, couldn’t you use one of the $.70/1 with the BOGO for the one you aren’t getting free?
Katherine – In theory, yes, but I couldn’t find a $0.70/1 Special K printable coupon that was good for one of the varieties available at Walgreens.
It appears the Target price for Uno 40th Anniversary is always $1.00. Last week was just an as advertised price since I asked for a rain check and when the clerk flipped up the price under the tag it was still $1.00. Yesterday when I was there she did a store search and found none in the Twin Cities area. Maybe later this week.
The Clairol nice ‘n easy hair colors are 2/$12 get $2 register rewards.
That makes them $3 each after coupons and rewards. Not the best deal… :(
Mary – Oops, thanks!
Has anyone found the Children’s Gummy viatmins? My store didn’t have them and I would really like to get some!
The couple of Wags I go to usually have the free after RR items on a little table near the entrance – just as you go start down the makeup aisle.
I looked ALL OVER for the gummy vitamins…at my eye level. My husband, who’s much taller, finally found them up on the TOP shelf. Give it a try at your store!
I think the pen coupon might be out of prints…it said I have already printed my number of coupons allowed and I know I haven’t….I’ve never even heard of this kind of pen! :( bummer
I can’t get the list to print. I click on the items and then when i click to print the list it says that i have not slected any items. Can anyone help, please?
After selecting my items, I only get 1 to show for printing. I do love this new option/ idea! Think there’s a programing glitch.
Uh oh. You selected multiple items, but only one showed up to print? Any chance you can replicate the problem and provide more specifics so we can troubleshoot it. This is actually the first problem I’ve heard of so I want to track down what’s going on.
I just changed a few things on the Walgreens list Linda so try again and see if it is fixed now??
I can only get the items under Month Long Deals to come up on the print list?
Another item to add to the list – The larger size Stayfree packs are $6.79 and there is a $3 off Wags Q in the ad. Plus there is a BOGO in today’s paper. The Wags Q says limit 3, but today I did this deal – 4@6.79 / $12 off Wags Q ($3×4) / 2 BOGO Q’s (Max $6 each). $27.16 – $12 Wags – $12 ManuQ’s = $3.16 or $0.79 each. You could do 2 transactions if your Wags won’t honor the coupon up for the 4th pack. I thought this was an incredible deal.
Actually, this deal can be even better if your Wags allows you to use any of the $1/1 Stayfree q’s available (I looked in the coupon database) for the item you’re not getting free. That would be an additional $2 off, or $0.29 each. Wow. Guess I’m going back this week.
I did the stayfree deal yesterday and today. Yesterday I was charged $6.79 x 2, 1 had 1 BOG1 coupon, a $1 off coupon and the Walgreens in ad coupon which brought off $6.00. which I think is correct
Today the cashier only deducted $3.79 for the B1G1 amount. because she was using the amount after the walgreens coupon has been deducted, is this correct or when using a B1G1 coupon are they suppose to deduct how much the product rings up without the walgreens coupon dedcted.
Does this make sense.
Thank you
Angie – It depends on how your cashier wants you to hand your coupons over to them. I always hand manufacturer’s coupons first, then in-ad coupons, then Register Rewards. This way, the cashier takes off the full value of the product with the B1G1 manufacturer’s coupon, then the store discount is on top of that.
I have often thought of buying and giving the Brita pitcher for a shower gift….does anyone think that would be a good/bad idea??
I gave a pitcher for a gift exchange/dice game at Christmas – it was a big hit.
I would have liked that a lot more than some of the gifts I did get :)
on moneysavingmom.com, it lists a RR deal for the Nature Valley bars…has anyone tried to buy 5 and get a $3.50 RR back? With printable coupons, this can be a good deal.
Kim – I tried it with buying four and it worked for me. We’ve updated the list to add this deal – thanks!
On the Kelloggs cereal deal….how come I thought with a bogo coupon you could also use the .70 off coupon for the first one?? Didn’t we used to do it that way or did something change???
V – You can still use another coupon with the B1G1 deal; we just didn’t find another coupon that would work with the Special K varieties that are on sale at Walgreens.
Regarding the Buy Bic Disposable Razors for $4.99, Get $1 Register Reward.
Their is also a coupon in PYD database, Bricks $2/1 Soleil Bella Shaver 3-pack – not as broad as other one, but I just started and don’t have the SS coupon.
Question: You state you can use an additional MF coupon for the non-free razor pack on top of the MF BOGO coupon? This is allowed? (I thought it was only ok to stack one MF and one store coupon???) Should the $2/1 coupon be rung up before the BOGO?
Jessie – Thanks for the tip on the printable coupon.
As for using an additional coupon along with the Buy 1, Get 1 Free coupon – some stores allow it, some don’t. Most stores I go to are fine with it. You’re using the Buy 1, Get 1 Free toward the free product, you’re using the other manufacturer’s coupon toward the other product. I don’t think it matters which coupon you give the cashier first.
Another use for nylons – fill with icemelt/salts and put them on your roof/gutters where there is ice building up.
This is great trick that I have used for years for ice dams. But don’t use any salt, just the Ice melt stuff. Any type of salt of rock salt will damage the roof and your gardens.
I have LOVED the Special K deal…I have bought 8 boxes of cereal so far this week. I will probably try and find a computer to print off more of the BOGO coupons….2.00 for 8 boxes of cereal! Now, that I love!
Hello! Where did I miss the Red Plum for 1/3/10? I have 1/2/10. I’m looking for the Rembrandt coupons from the 1/3/10 Red Plum – any suggestions? The 3rd was a monday……..
Steph – 1/3/10 was a Sunday, 1/3/11 was a Monday. 1/2/11 is the insert we got this year, 1/3/10 is the insert we got last year.
I didn’t see this on the list, but eggs are .99/dozen this week. There was a printable coupon for .55 off 2 dozen at one point – I’m not sure if it’s available still, but that makes them less than .75 a dozen – I’m pretty sure that’s the best deal in town this week. Aldi’s eggs are 1.19.
Also, on the Kellogg’s deal, I saw a couple boxes of Smart Start that were “Try Me Free” after rebate. I didn’t have any coupons for it, but if the rebate is for 2.50, that makes them .25 each.
Emily – Thanks for the tip on the Smart Start rebate!
Re the eggs, there is a coupon on smart source, pg 6 for .55 off two 12 ct cartons
I can’t get the print list to work on any. I mark boxes and then select print list. It loads the page and states nothing checked. Did it numerous times.
The coupon for special k cereals “buy one get one” is for 12oz ,but the store has 14oz cereal only. The coupon beeped but the cashier gave the coupon manually. Is there any store that carry 12 oz cereal around eden Prairie.
Thanks
Shirin – The Special K original variety boxes at my store were 12oz.
Am attempting to print my selected list from the Walgreens list but each time I click the print button it takes me to a page that says “you haven’t selected anything to print” – then it erases my checkmarks. Have attempted it a number of times. Something’s amiss. Thanks!
Just an FYI – I used my RR’s from last week’s Pantene deal to do the same deal again today and I got the RR again. I was not expecting them to roll. Anyone else have this happen?
The lists are still not printing right.
My Smart Start cereal did not get RR printed with it when I purchaced it today… Fluke or anyone else have this problem?
Lisa – If it was listed as part of the Register Reward deal (which I think it was), you can always show the ad to the manager and let him/her know the issue. If it’s listed in the ad, the manager should give you the reward (I’ve gotten mine in gift card form sometimes).
The Kellogg Try One Free rebate is good once per flavor, so you can use it 2x during the rebate period, just FYI.
Couldn’t get the list to print. The month-ling deal is all that showed up to print, and I had checked off many items.
I think that the egg coupon has disappeared! Too bad!!
There are (or were as of Monday) $1/2 Nature Valley granola bar printables on the boxtops for education website: http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/clip/Coupons.aspx?WT.ac=QL_Coupons. You may need to register; I was able to print 2 copies.
Thanks, TB!
Another use for the knee high nylons, is to catch the lint from the water coming out of the washer. I use a clothes pin to attach to the hose and it works great!
The milk at our walgreens is Land O Lakes,-so a gallon of milk is on sale for 2.69 and then use the $1.00 off in last weeks coupons. A gallon of milk for 1.69`!!!
