    Thank you!!

  2. Lynda says:

I am having such a hard time getting started on the coupon savings. It is confusing. Any tips to make it easier to get going?

    • Alison says:

Lynda – give yourself time and start small. Maybe just start with one store and really try to “master” the ins and outs of that store. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I learned by posting many questions and having more experienced couponers answer my novice questions, and by just going and trying it out. It was frustrating at first, but when I got some amazing deals and got a bag of groceries for $3, it was well worth the effort! My favorite stores are Rainbow (double coupon days) and CVS (great customer service and I like their ECB program).

    • betty c says:

Check this website weekly!! It’s so helpful..Carrie knows all the bargains.

  3. April says:

How do you get tampons free? The lowest I’ve been able to get them for is $1.50, if I do WG RR or CVS $$ I have to spend them right away. . b/c I don’t shop at those places enough.

    • Jennifer M. says:

April ~ this week at Rainbow (see the regular weekly shopping list) there are tampons for $.75 per box. This is one of the lowest prices I remember seeing for a while, but every once in a while they will go even cheaper and once in a blue moon you will get a freebie. When those sales come up, you have to stock up enough to get you to the next great sale so you won’t end up paying the $1.50 per box when you are running low!

  4. Melissa says:

Score on Similac! I just got a $10 similac check in the mail today!

  5. Therese S. says:

Is it just me or is it slim pickings for great deals with this booklet. It’s been quite a while since Roundy’s booklet had awesome steals..I mean deals!

    • Lisa says:

I agree. I clipped one of the coupons. Other times, I’ve clipped several more. Then again, I don’t really *need* anything…

  6. Hilary says:

the athenos hummus might be a good price but it is awful and has preservatives. phoenician is made in minneaplois and all natural

  7. sh says:

    Hi
We live n stlouis park .we didnot get the booklet of coupons.

  8. reba c says:

I agree that the coupon book isn’t that great this time. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a killer sale at Copp’s.

  9. Alex says:

Did anyone get a look at the Scott toilet paper in the store? The coupon says “Select Varieties” and the pictures is of their single-ply that I bought once and wouldn’t recommend.

  10. Alex says:

    There’s a $1/1 Halls printable here:

I’ve never seen this site before but it is a manufacturer coupon with a watermark so I think it will be good at Rainbow.

  11. Chris says:

Any ideas when we can look forward to a Double Double days again? Also for regular double days, what is everyone buying to get that $25 worth and be able to get the free items and still feel like you did great? I have a hard time wrapping my head around the best way to take advantage of this. Whereas when its DblDbl, and you can use 10 coupons its no problem to come up with the $25. thanks for any tips!!

    • Jenny says:

THe best way to take advantage of Double days is only buy the things you are going to use doubled coupons on, then buy a gift card to make up the $25 total. Then do another transaction where you only buy the things you will get doubled coupons on, buy another gift card, and then use the 1st gift card to pay for it. That way you are spending very little, and using lots of coupons. A cashier at Rainbow told me to do this, so it is legal! I do my transactions in a row, and use the gift cards, and no one has said anything about it at any of the stores I go to.

      • Nancy says:

Using the BP $25 gas card purchase also helps you get to the $25 limit and you get gas perks besides!

      • Leann says:

I was told at the Rockford Rd location that you can’t buy a gift card to reach your $25. Has anyone else done this at that location?

  12. Sheila says:

Is anyone else having trouble at Rainbow accepting coupons? They go over my items in great detail and read and reread the coupons before they accept them. Today they wouldn’t accept the manufacturer’s coupon on the hummus with the store coupon. They make me feel like i am doing something wrong – but i am not. I am using the right coupons for the right products and they are not expired. Plus, i am not doing more than one transaction or gift cards or anything like that. I have tried 3 Rainbow stores and they are all the same. the computer systems seems to be rejecting more and more coupons and then the cashiers won’t take them and if they do, they need manager approval. I am about ready to give up shopping at Rainbow all together.

    • Eyris says:

I had a lot of trouble last week. Today was fine though, everything went through cept that hummus coupon. My cashier tried scanning it, putting in the number and nothing.. ended up calling for coupon assistance (that was kinda funny) and the lady put it through right away. I know the other manager probably wouldn’t have though.

    • Laura Wales says:

Sheila and Eyris – I had the same issue with the hummus coupon today – it wouldn’t scan no matter what. I’m wondering if maybe the store coupon actually scans as two coupons ($1 off each) and then it won’t accept the $2/2 hummus coupon because it looks like an “extra” coupon? I’m thinking this may be the case because the store hummus coupon is listed twice on my receipt (both times for $1.00). Weird.

  13. val-WI says:

i am looking to stock up on my string cheese bc DD loves them! and they are good for snacking here and there, however, with all these deals on string cheese, does anyone know if you can freeze them and how well the defrost?

  14. Karen says:

For Mucinex (guaifsen), it’s an ok price but if you have sinus/allergy issues & use a guaifsen product regularly as I do Walgreens has their “W” brand 120 ct. for 20.99 with an instore ad booklet coupon for 5 dollars off.

  15. Marianne says:

The price for the Mucinex is very good. You can use store brand, but the amount of the active ingredient is less, so are you really getting a better deal?

  16. Lisa says:

I used a Yoplait coupon for 75 cents off of 8 cups on the multi pack and got it doubled. I noticed a lot of comments about difficulty with coupons, I shop at the Riverdale Rainbow in Coon Rapids and I rarely have any problems.

  17. T says:

there is $1 off athenos product on coupons.com.
