It’s been a year since I first told you about this free copy of Betty Crocker’s Soups, Stews and Chilies Cookbook. It is still available for download or print. I don’t know how much these small cookbooks are on the newsstand, since it’s been years since I’ve bought one, but I love them and use the few I have all. the. time. The recipes in this cookbook are great during our deep January freeze in Minnesota and also work well in the crockpot.
Your turn: What’s your favorite recipe in the book?

Oh my gosh, Carrie! I have never been a big soup, stew, or chili fan, but these recipes look awesome! I can’t wait to make so many of them. (Unfortunately, I’ve already done my early Wednesday morning shopping run to Rainbow for double coupon day!)
I’m a sucker for those little cookbooks stores strategically placed in the cash register line so already have stacks of them. Lately, I’ve stopped buying any magazines (have you noticed the cost?) but miss these because they have such great, simple recipes. This is great! Off to make one for lunch now, using the Oriental-flavored ramen noodles I picked up on sale yesterday while doing my weekly Wednesday double coupon shopping at Rainbow. Love the work you’re doing, Carrie! You’re such an inspiration to all of us trying to keep our heads above water these days.
Carrie – There is a price of $5.99 on the corner by the barcode.
They are expensive for only a couple recipes out of a book. I love these books too!
This is great, we love soups and stews but once i clicked on it and it downloaded it, where does it go?? I want to put it on my desktop, but I can’t find it???
Heidi – Once you click “save,” the download file goes to wherever your default download location is. Mine is my “Downloads” folder in my “My Documents” folder. You can also do a file search for gm_soups.exe and you should be able to find it that way, too.
