Aldi Shopping List 1/23 – 1/29/11

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

In addition to pointing out any notable sales at Aldi this week we have also included a list of regular-priced items, as many of these match or beat sale prices at grocery stores. The list of regularly priced items is a compilation of information generously provided by a number of Pocketeers.  I have not personally verified all the prices. I noticed that quantity/size would be useful on some items where it is currently missing. As we all work together to share what we find our store, then we can make this an even better list over time. As always, prices at your store may vary.

First-time Aldi shoppers, you’ll need to bring a quarter (not 25 cents, but a quarter) for the refundable deposit on your cart and bring your own grocery bags. They take cash or debit card, but not credit card. Find an Aldi near you. If you don’t live near an Aldi, but can get your hands on an ad remember that Walmart will price match equivalent produce items (if sold in the same quantity, packaging, etc.) and generics if they carry a Great Value brand in the same size/quantity as Aldi advertises.

If it helps you appreciate Aldi a little more, read Wikipedia’s article about them and learn that Aldi is owned by the parent company that owns Trader Joe’s. Don’t forget Aldi’s double guarantee too, where you will get a replacement product AND a refund if you are not 100% satisfied.

Your turn: Do you have additions or changes to suggest to the list of regularly priced items?

Thanks so much for listing the regular prices for everything, helps so much!

  2. Kyle says:

Awesome! This is going to be a great reference for me. Thanks so much!

  3. AJM says:

    Ditto!

  4. Michelle says:

Thanks much!! I copied it and pasted into Excel so I can spreadsheet my shopping lists and get specific on my budget for the “normal run of stuff.”

BTW: Pretty sure the sugar is 5lbs. They have a sign above it in Elk River noting this….that other stores run 4lb bags but Aldi has 5lb bags and for customers to note this in our shopping comparisons. :-)

  5. AJM says:

I was at Aldi (in Mahtomedi) on Saturday.
    * In case you want a “lower fat” ground beef, their 93/7 ground beef is $3.23.
    * Their Fit&Active brand of snack crackers (similar to Wheat Thins) is REALLY GOOD and the box is $1.29 for 9 oz.
    * Their dark chocolate bars are really yummy (I didn’t buy any this time, so I don’t have the price).

I really love ALDI. Not real close to my home, so I only go about once every couple of weeks to stock up, but with this price list, I’ll probably go more often when I compare their prices! Thanks, Carrie!

  6. Jessie M says:

This is great! Thanks for the list! :D

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Thank you! I won’t get the list updated for a day or two, but I will integrate all of this into the master list. I appreciate you taking time to do that for all of us.

  8. Jodi says:

Wow, thanks so much for the list. I love Aldis.

  9. Jennifer says:

This list is FANTASTIC! I’ve already started using it as I prepare my shopping lists at other places, and I’m sure I will buy more things at Aldi now than I used to. Thank you so much!

  10. Jenni says:

Hi! Thanks so much for this list. Wanted to mention that I was at Aldi a couple of weeks ago and paid .29 for Mac and Cheese. My parents mentioned it being a lower price before Christmas- so I don’t believe it to be a “sale” price…

  11. Jenny says:

20 oz ground turkey is 2.49

  12. Judi says:

Thank you Carrie. We shop Aldi all the time. I just wanted to mention that we just got back from there and the Primrose plants were already there for sale. They are beautiful for only 99 cents.

  13. AJM says:

There’s a new commercial building going up on Hwy 36 in Stillwater and today I say the sign and it’s an ALDI! I am so excited! Don’t know when it’s set to open, but I’ll let everyone know as soon as I know. Wooohoooo!

  14. Anne says:

My husband does a Rainbow/Aldi shopping trip every Wednesday morning, and I do a Rainbow/Target shopping trip every Wednesday night. My husband said that Aldi is the only store at which he feels “safe to deviate from the list!” We both love their prices and have been so satisfied with the quality of their food!

I appreciate the list above. It certainly helps in comparing the sale prices at other stores to the regular price at Aldi!
