There’s another Video on Demand service now available for PlayStation 3 and with its release, new customers can get a free $5.99 credit good towards an HD movie rental.
The new service offered by VUDU features over 4,000 HD movie titles to choose from, including new releases available the same day they are released on DVD or Blu-ray Disc. The service also provides a large variety of popular movies you can rent for only $2 for 2 nights.
Many readers have asked me how they can save on their cable and satellite TV bills and this is one way you can do so. Using Video on Demand services such as this one in place of subscribing to premium movie channels can help alleviate those inflated monthly bills by allowing you to pay for only the movies you choose to watch.
How it Works
You can download the new VUDU PlayStation 3 Application by following these steps:
– Visit the PlayStation store on the PlayStation XrossMediaBar available on the main screen of your PlayStation 3 console.
– Scroll down and select the “Media” option.
– Click on the VUDU icon on the right side of the screen.
– Select the “Download” button to begin installation.
– Once the installation is complete, exit the PlayStation store and select the “VUDU Movies” application that will now appear in the XrossMediaBar.
– Follow the on-screen instructions to either set up a new account or link an existing VUDU account to your PlayStation 3.
You should be able to view the $5.99 credit once your PlayStation 3 account is all set up.
For those of you unfamiliar with VUDU’s Video on Demand service, you can also stream movies on your computer or with other VUDU enabled devices.
Note: I am not sure if this credit is only available to new customers who use the service through PlayStation 3 or if it’s available to any new VUDU customer in general, but it would be worth a try! Please leave a comment below if you find out.
