Yay!! It is here! We have chosen a name, secured a location, finalized the date and are ready to open registration for our first-ever conference called, Pocket Your Dollars Live 2011. Details on the event including instructions on how to purchase tickets are included below. I can’t tell you how excited I am at the thought of hundreds of Pocketeers gathered for a weekend’s worth of fun and learning.
Pocket Your Dollars Live 2011
Pocket Your Dollars Live 2011 is a 2-day conference hosted by Carrie Rocha of PocketYourDollars.com. The event’s primary purpose is to help attendees broaden and deepen their money-saving skills in an environment intended to fast-track this learning. While we accomplish that, we will meet those with whom we have interacted online and maybe make some new friends along the way.
On Friday night, Carrie will be the keynote speaker teaching her popular class on how to get out and stay out of debt. Saturday is full of workshops led by subject matter experts; the speaker list is to-be-finalized, but we are talking with
professional chefs, car repair experts, home repair experts, fashion bloggers and many others.
Schedule of Events
Friday, March 25, 7 pm – 10 pm
Carrie Rocha teaches “Debt: How to Get Out and Stay Out.” This is a perfect event for couples or parents with an adult child/children to attend together as you begin to walk on a path leading to a better financial destiny. Admission to this session is included with the 2-day conference ticket, but tickets can be purchased exclusively for this session. Light refreshments will follow the session.
Saturday, March 26, 8:30 am – 4 pm
Our goal for Saturday is to offer a variety of trainings, relationship-building opportunities, workshops and food (can’t forget the food!) to appeal to everyone from newbies to money-saving experts. Carrie will be offering her popular class, “How to Save 50% on Your Groceries” and an “Advanced Grocery Savings” class, but for those who have already attended those there will be plenty of other workshops to choose from. As speakers and workshop sessions are finalized, we will make that information available. In the meantime, know that we are working to cover a wide range of topics from home repair/car repair to cooking and canning to online shopping tricks.
Lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day.
Purchase Tickets
Pocket Your Dollars Live 2011 is a ticketed event that requires advanced-purchase tickets. Early bird tickets will be sold through January 15, 2011. Regular-priced tickets will be available for sale through March 12, 2011.
You have the option of purchasing a ticket to the entire 2-day event including Friday night’s session and all day Saturday including keynotes, workshops, and lunch. Or, you can purchase a ticket just for Friday night’s session: “Debt: How to Get Out and Stay Out.” These options are available to facilitate couples coming together on Friday night and then one spouse returning for the workshops and learning available on Saturday. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase a ticket exclusively for Saturday.

WHOOHOOO!
I was able to register me and my husband to your two-day event. CAN’T WAIT!!!!
I registered; I am bringing three friends. Have you considered getting a group rate for a nearby hotel? Thanks.
Ellen – yes, getting a group rate at nearby hotel on board is on my to-do list. Theoretically next week should be slower for deals and I can get that arranged. I will pass along details when I have them.
It sounds great but it is up in MN, have you considered every coming to Madison, Wisconsin area?
Katie – Yes, I have thought about having events in other areas. For this first conference I thought it would be easier to do it near where I live. If it is well-received then I can think about what might be next in terms of future events, locations, etc. If you can afford it, maybe make it a fun weekend getaway with a couple friends. Come to teh conference, stay in a hotel and enjoy yourselves. I’d love to meet you!
