8 Email Lists Worth Joining

I am willing to join email newsletters for companies and brands with reckless abandon. I subscribe using a secondary email address I created for that purpose so I keep my primary inbox clean. Sometimes online coupon codes, alerts about freebies, giveaways or other special offers are first announced via a company’s email list and then, ultimately, shared on blogs like this one.

This past weekend I spent some time unsubscribing to dozens of email newsletters that I decided were no longer valuable or relevant to me. My reasons for unsubscribing varied from deciding to connect with the company via Facebook instead of email to getting way too many emails from them to not finding the content relevant.

Yet, with that time spent unsubscribing, I join almost any new email newsletter with reckless abandon. It takes all of 5 seconds to click the “unsubscribe” link if I want to opt out and who knows, maybe I’ll gain something valuable with what they have to say.

That said, every company, restaurant and brand has an email list you can join, so I would never attempt to list them all. I will however share a short list of email newsletters you may want to consider, depending on your interests and tolerance for this kind of email.

If you all want to hear about these kinds of newsletters I can round a few up occasionally and pass them along to you. Be sure to leave comments with your favorite email lists so I can learn from all of you too.

Your turn: What are some of your favorite email newsletters?

All You. Sign up for All You’s emails to get weekly low-cost recipe ideas, including a pie guide right now, coupons, and other promotional offers from their partners. Personally, I like the daily free sample they promote and think that alone is worth having them in my inbox.

Daily Worth. I have mentioned Daily Worth before as I think it is an easy way to keep your mind sharp about personal finance. You get a succinct daily tip or tidbit about money aimed at women. Sign up for your free Daily Worth subscription.

Digitwirl. Technology changes all the time and seriously, by the time I figure out how to do something online there is a newer version and I am behind again. Digitwirl is a free weekly email newsletter that shares easy-to-digest tech tips that help busy folks like us make use of the tech products around us.

Fisher Price. I have toys on the brain and love the idea of snagging coupons or getting a head’s up on toy deals. We don’t see tons of online printable coupons for toys, so joining Fisher Price’s email list is one way to keep up with the best they have to offer.

Free Coupon Alerts. If you get nervous that you might be missing out on new printable coupons, then sign up for free coupon alerts. You will get an email every time there are new online coupons. Beware, I suspect this will send a lot of email, but some of you might appreciate it.

JC Penney. As recently as this afternoon I touted some JC Penney sales in a television segment I did (and no one paid me to do it). You can keep up with their online coupon codes and clearance sales when you join the JC Penney email list.

Techlicious. Like Digitwirl, Techlicious is a source for ideas on how to apply technology to you busy life to make it run a little better.

Ziploc Right at Home. Right at Home is a generous site with frequently changing printable coupons and frequent full-size product giveaways. Keep up with their current online coupons and freebies when you join Ziploc Right at Home for yourself.

I am a fan of Caribou’s email list. Their coffee is expensive so I like to know when they are going to offer a great deal :)

    • Christine says:

I agree with JoAnna, the Caribou list is really nice. They also send you an email for a free drink on your birthday. They also send half price coupons and bogo coupons.

Christine-I keep the bday email all year. I print the email and include it in bday cards, forward it to friends on their bday…. :)

The 2nd link to join the ziplock right at home site is wrong. I still found it, but FYI.

Caribou is a good list! I also like D’Amico, they often have discounts based on extreme heat during the summer.

About unsubscribing–I have been trying to unsubscribe to the Martha Stewart site for over 3 months. I tried going through the proper way and it didn’t make a difference. About 6 weeks ago I wrote a letter (couldn’t find a phone number). Still no change.

  4. SarahBeth says:

I am on the Archiver’s email list. Get great coupons all the time!

  5. Jess says:

I love the Similac Strong Moms program. They send out a monthly email, and formula coupons in the mail. I’ve received coupons worth $3, $5, $10 and most recently up to $25 off!
