Midwest Home Show (Actually) Free Tickets. After I posted on Monday that you can order free tickets to the Midwest Home Show from Goldstar and pay a $3 service fee for each ticket, several readers commented that Menards stores are giving the tickets away for free. The Brooklyn Park and St. Paul locations had them at the service desk, so check your local Menards to see if they have them, too. (Thanks, Heather, Angela and Jennifer!)

Outdoor Adventure Expo. Admission is free to this 51st bi-annual event at Midwest Mountaineering from 11/19 – 11/21. Check out special sales, featured presenters and programs, and the Banff Mountain Film Festival (there is a charge to attend the Film Festival).

Your turn: How often do you check out winter farmers markets in the Twin Cities? Which one is your favorite?
