Several stores are offering free events this weekend for you to bring the family to and enjoy some family fun together. Events include crafts and (yes, already) pictures with Santa! Here’s the list we’ve rounded up for you.
Home Depot
Need a new spice rack? Your child can make you one at a Home Depot near you on Nov. 6 between 9 a.m. and noon as part of Home Depot’s How-To Workshops. The workshops are geared towards kids ages 5-12 and are designed to not only give kids a sense of accomplishment, but also to teach them do-it-yourself skills and tools safety. Each child will receive a free project kit, kid-sized orange apron and an achievement pin when they complete their project.
Workshops are held on the first Saturday of each month between 9 a.m. and noon.

Michaels
Michaels is offering two free events this weekend as part of The Knack program for kids ages 3 and up. In honor of Veterans Day this coming Thursday, your kids can create a Thank-You Star for a veteran or soldier from 10 a.m. until noon on Nov. 6. This could be a nice little gift to give to a military family member or friend. If you need some Thanksgiving décor, you can bring the kids to Michaels Nov. 7 from 1-3 p.m. to create a turkey placeholder. Both events available while supplies last. Find a Michaels store near you.
Bass Pro Shops
If your kids are already itching to see Santa this year, stop by a Bass Pro Shop near you on Nov. 6 between 6-8 p.m. or Nov. 7 between noon and 8 p.m. to get a free 4×6 photo with Santa.
If you head into Bass Pro Shops Nov. 6, there will be a magical tree lighting, the arrival of Santa, the unveiling of Santa’s Wonderland, carolers and free cookies and hot chocolate starting at 5 p.m.
The weekend is packed with other activities the family can do as well as part of its Santa’s Secret Wonderland event, which runs daily between now and Dec. 24. Note: For our Minnesota readers, there are no Bass Pro locations in Minnesota. Bummer!
Other freebies at Bass Pro Shops include:
– Free games and activities. Kids can participate in some great games and activities, including a Laser Arcade, Strike & The Hunt games, remote control trucks and moving trains Nov. 6 from 6-8p.m. or Nov. 7 during store hours.
– Free crafts. Your kids can color their own stocking during the Color Your Own Stocking craft Nov. 6 from 5-8 p.m. or create their own Elf Mask Nov. 7 from noon-5 p.m.
– Free Santa Bandz. Be one of the first 150 kids to visit Santa’s Wonderland, and you will receive the week’s featured Santa Bandz for free.
Lowe’s
If you are looking for something to do next weekend, you can bring the family to a Lowe’s store near you for its Build and Grow Clinic Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. The featured craft is a periscope. Plus, the first 50 kids to register and arrive at the store at 10 a.m. will each receive a free apron, goggles, a project-themed patch and a certificate of merit when they finish their project. You can register for a Build and Grow clinic in-store or online.
