3 Reviews You Can Write Without Having Traveled

There is nothing that says you have to review someplace you recently were. If you have ever traveled anywhere, then you can write about a place you stayed or attraction you saw. Or, you can opt for one of these three types of reviews that will all garner a free photo book, but without having made a trip.

Local attraction. You don’t have to have traveled to do this one since your review could be of your local mall, amusement park or even the Water Park of America (this could be easy for those of you who have received free passes to the Water Park of America for subscribing to the Star Tribune through Pocket Your Dollars.)

Local restaurant. Is there a small mom and pop restaurant you absolutely love? Well, help others discover this great restaurant by writing a review.

Nearby city/town. This could be the hometown you grew up in, the place you live now, a city you traveled to for either leisure or business, or a vacation spot your family has visited.

Recent stay at a hotel. Even if it was simply visiting friends/family, you can write a review of what your stay was like, what you liked and what you disliked. (To be true to the heading, this is a fourth kind of review and it does require you to have traveled).

As you may or may not know, I recently took a trip sponsored by Share A Sale to attend Think Tank 2010, a networking and training event about affiliate marketing. Share A Sale put everyone up, including my husband and me, at the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay (they also paid for our food for most of the time we were there, too – it was great!). Click through to see the pictures on their website because it’s awesome and yes, we did have a little gas fueled firepit with an ocean view outside our room. Read the review I wrote of Ritz Carlton Half Moon that got me my free photobook.

It did take a few days for them to read through my review and then approve it to the website, but I got my code for the photobook along with an email notifying me that it had been published.

Your turn: I wrote a review and got my free photo book – did you? What did you write a review about?

I posted a review too and never received my code for free photo book. Was there a specific link? I clicked through the one above when writing my review.
