If you like the idea of earning rewards for your online searches, you will definitely want to check out the new rewards program Bing has recently rolled out. The program rewards you with credits redeemable for various prizes and gift cards each time you use the Bing search engine for your online searches.

It is pretty similar to the rewards program offered by the Swagbucks search engine; however, I have a feeling you might like the search capabilities of Bing over Swagbucks.

How It Works

To start earning rewards through Bing, you have to register for a free Bing account using your Windows Live ID. If you don’t have a Windows Live ID one will be automatically created for you. Your account will be credited with 250 free credits once the registration process is complete. Now you can start earning points!

Earn Points

In comparison to Swagbucks, Bing doesn’t reward you for taking surveys or completing various activities or offers, but it does offer a few ways for you to earn credits. Of course, the most obvious way is by using Bing for your online searches, but other credit-earning opportunities include making Bing your homepage and trying out different Bing features.

What Can I Win?

Bing offers a variety of rewards to choose from once you’ve earned enough credits to redeem. Prizes include gift cards to popular retailers and restaurants, electronics, popular DVD titles, or if you prefer, you can make a charitable donation to various charities.

Your turn: Are you going to join the Bing rewards program? How do you think it ranks in comparison to Swagbucks?

I will probably switch to this after I have enough Swagbucks for a gift card. We already have Bing as our homepage – the search capabilities are definitely better and the pictures are so pretty!

    This is perfect!

Swabucks was blocked through my smartfilter @ work, and Bing is the suggested search engine by my employer! Yay!

It's tempting to try this, but when I searched on Bing before Halloween for face painting ideas for my costume, some porn was mixed in with the rest, unlike Google, which never included such contributions. Bing already comes up automatically for me due to my email account, but I prefer other search engines at this point.

I didn't get any points except for the points for joining, even though I did a few searches. I'm sticking with Swagbucks, but thanks for the info.

What are the terms and conditions? I bet that the tool bar is a web tracking application to collect data about the pages you visit. Anyone who has signed up did you notice about the infomation it collects about your computer? Just wondering. Thanks for any responses.

Just so you know, if you click on the little box that shows your total points it will have a few suggested links. Click each of those for 6 points each. Then for every 5 regular searches you complete, you earn 6 points, up to six times a day for a total of 36 points. It takes a lot longer to earn points with Bing, but it's a nice supplement to all those amazon gift cards I'm winning at swagbucks. I've been doing SB for 6 weeks and have allready won 5 x $5 gift cards! I can probably earn another one each month on Bing for a toatl of $30 free dollars a month. It's not a ton, but it only takes me about 20 a day, which I do while drinking coffee and trying to wake up in the morning, lol.

newbie, How do you go about getting so many points a month from swagbucks to get that many giftcards. My searches give me 10- 20 points a day and maybe a few more on Friday. Thanks for your help.

Actually it DOES support Mac OS. Working now on Mac Snow Leopard with Chrome or Firefox. It's via the website, so it will work regardless of which OS you use.
