Smart School Time Recipes: Free eBook with 125 Kid-Friendly Recipes

If you enjoy baking or cooking meals or snacks, versus buying pre-made varieties, then I think you’ll enjoy this free 125-recipe Smart School Time Recipes eCookbook. One Frugal Foodie led the effort to put this book together, but gained recipe contributions from more than a dozen cooking bloggers.

Recipes are organized into the following categories:

  • Morning Muffin Mania
  • Sensational Smoothies
  • Easy Freezin’ Waffles, Pancakes, and French Toast
  • More Smart Starts
  • Dips, Fillings, and Spreads
  • Soups and Stews
  • Salad-Style
  • More Lunchbox Love
  • Sweet Snackin’
  • Craving Cookies
  • Essential Extras

I just downloaded my copy, started thumbing through it and then had to peel myself away to come back to writing this blog post and sharing it with you. I am not what you’d call a health nut, but I do really enjoy cooking and baking from scratch. I also enjoy learning new things about cooking and baking, like new flavor combinations, ingredient substitutions and foods that freeze and reheat well.

This cookbook is chocked full of all of those things I love and I’m eager to try out many of the recipes in the months ahead. I have done very little cooking this summer and zero baking, so my freezer is empty and ready to be restocked.

Honestly, I think I love this cookbook.

Your turn: Do you love this cookbook or is it not your thing?

I am passionate about helping people keep their money where it belongs - in their pocket. I live in Minneapolis, MN with my husband and two little girls.

Thank you! I had so much fun reading and printing select pages. GREAT and healthy recipes.

I bought 5 lbs of chia seeds awhile back and have been trying to use them in “regular” recipes to replace the oil, but having not-so-great results. I’m so happy to find some recipes that actually call for chia!! Thanks, Carrie!!

I’ll own being a health nut. :) Thanks for sharing, Carrie. Can’t wait to check it out! It’s so hard not to feed kids too much processed junk, because it’s so easy! Our school lunches (at a private school) have gone up to $3 each this year. 3 kids * 3 lunches = ouch!

Kristin – 5 lbs?! You went all in. I’m experimenting with them too. Shall we keep each other posted? Did you find a really good bargain on them somewhere?
