If you are like me, then getting some free tips on how to coordinate your home’s decor would be nice. Home Depot is offering a free workshop tomorrow night from 7 – 8:30 pm, September 30, that is focused on Decor Coordination and features ideas (and products, I suppose) from the Martha Stewart Living line. Most Home Depot stores nationwide are holding this same seminar and it’s free, although pre-registration is required (go here and then click on the advertising banner at the top of the page to register). The first 30 registrants at each store get a free project organizer.
Here’s my stream of consciousness this morning about home decor :) My family will spend a lot of time inside our house this winter and I know that when I feel good about my surroundings, then I feel better overall and get more done. Yes, that means I enjoy having dishes put away and carpets vacuumed, but I also like how it feels when my decor is current…ok, at least semi-current…and reflects my style. Getting ideas is free and then if something costs money to do (like painting, for instance), then I can add it into my budget and buy when I am ready.
I am teaching a class on how to save 50% on your groceries tomorrow night so I can’t make this. If you go and learn some cool things, please email me because it would be fun to share some ideas for budget decorating.
Other Home Depot Tips
If you are a Home Depot lover, then be sure you have signed up for the free Home Depot Home Improver Club so you get emails about these types of free workshop, occasional coupons and head’s up on promotions. Likewise, you green thumbs (which leaves me out) will likely enjoy the free Home Depot Garden Club and its gardening tips and access to expert gardening advice – which I would need lots of.
Your turn: What kind of do-it-yourself project have you and your family done that saved you a ton of money?
