Update: PineCone as opened up again and is looking for certain types of females – sorry guys, I’ll let you know when they are recuriting men.

PineCone Research is a well-respected research firm that conducts on-line interviews with consumers from all walks of life to obtain their opinions about new products. They are currently recruiting female members ages 18-24 or 35+, with a particular need for females ages 55+. If you’re a female of qualifying age, register by completing this registration form. From there, they will confirm you aren’t already registered and that you meet their demographic requirements.
After being accepted, you can expect to receive online surveys from them that pay $3 each. PineCone has a good reputation for paying its members promptly. Plus, each time you complete a survey you are entered into a bi-weekly sweepstakes.
Pocketeers that have worked with PineCone Research in times past report that they were also occasionally provided free products to try in their home, as part of their work with PineCone.
They only open up for new members a couple times each year, so if you’re interested sign up now or you’ll likely have to wait a few months before the opportunity comes up again.
If at-home surveys interest you, then Consumer Village is another reputable organization that is still accepting new members.
Your turn: What have you learned by trial and error about survey and research companies that a newbie should know?

PineCone is a good opportunity. My husband participates in surveys and gives his opinions on products. We regularly get $3 checks from the company. Wish I could participate too, but I’m in between age groups.
I’ve been taking surveys with this company for a while now. Its actually really fun compared to other websites.
Sometimes I get to try the products I’ve taken surveys on which is really cool.
Also I would like to add that I’ve taken some surveys and they’ve asked me for passwords and account info on credit cards and my cellphone log-in information…obviously a SCAM! Definitely beware!!
Shauna – You mean PineCone has sent you surveys asking for personal info?
No, sorry. I meant surveys I’ve taken from other companies that offer you money have asked for personal information. PineCone is by far the best place to take surveys.
Hi…just signed up for Pinecone. Have done surveys for ipso I- Say and just received an American Express with some of my reward to use for purchases. Not a bad idea for retired at-home work. Thanks
Oh the not-too-long-ago good ole days when they were $5/survey!! Thats was nice!! It is a very reputable company. Much better than the Co.’s who put your name in for a drawing after you’ve done a survey, with only a few chances to win.
I’ve signed up for this but NEVER got any response/confirmation emails. Do people usually get accepted right away?
I got a confirmation response within a couple days. Check you junk folder.
Re PineCone (rather curious name?)
Once I was taking a survey and it was taking a really taking a long time,
I will only do these in 20 min or less, just my orneriness, I guess.
Sent them a email that it was taking too long and they emailed back apologizing.
They do pay very promptly.
I think this place is only looking for people who have kids. We don’t have children and we never qualify. Ugh!
Jackie – Sorry :( I have another survey company I’m going to mention later this week or early next and hopefully that one will work out.
Well I have kids and didn’t qualify. Guess that they are not looking for white females ages 35-44.
Every time I sign up I don’t qualify. I am thinking it’s because we don’t have kids. It’s completely frustrating!
I’m 25 with no kids and I qualified…weird.
May be they are also looking for races/ethnicities other than white/caucasion. I’m 29 and white with one kid and didn’t qualify, but my husband would classify as “other” so out of curiosity I put in other and it brought me to the screen to put more info in. Maybe I’ll have hubby join!
I didn’t qualify either, white female over 40 with 4 kids. I think we’re the ones that have TIME to do these surveys, which is funny, they don’t *need* us…?
Female, 45+, white, 2 kids – didn’t qualify.
I am African American – 36 Married with 3 children, I signed up for this Last week and received 2 surveys to take already. I guess I am who they are looking for. :-) These checks will come in handy! Thanks Carrie.
Korean-American, 47, married with 3 college-age kids, qualified this week. Thanks, Carrie.
