The top of this week’s Cub Foods ad mentions a new coupon book, but I have yet to get mine. When it comes we’ll be sure to let you know which manufacturer’s coupons coincide with the store coupons to maximize the savings.
Since Cub Foods’ stores accept manufacturer-issued coupons up to 3 months past their expiration date (and in some cases up to 5 or 6 months past) some of those referenced on this list are expired. If you are new to Pocket Your Dollars, then learn to read this shopping list. If you are having issues, troubleshoot problems printing coupons here.
Remember that this is a starting list of deals for the week. As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store or we get emails with deal ideas, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.
Your turn: Which items did you pick up with the Kraft “Buy 5, Get $5 Off Next Shopping Order” promotion?

I loved Kraft’s deal last wk! I bought 10 pkgs of shredded chz (free after using the $5 coupon both times), 10 pkgs of block chz and 5 tubs of Cool Whip. I used those catalinas and a lot of RR to save 99% off my grocery bill of about $100– Thanks Carrie!!
There is an unadvertised catalina for Kelloggs!! I heard a rumor and made a gamble today. $10 back WYB 10. Here’s my deal idea that worked for me!

I did also get the progresso, betty crocker fruit and fiber one bar cats today, though IIRC, they ended today. Awesome trip for me today! Thanks Carrie for all your hard work and encouragment toward couponing!
Where did you read about the Kelloggs deal? Wondering what other items are included? Thanks
I picked up a coupon book at Cub on Saturday that has manufacturer’s coupons in it. The only one I remember is $1 off 3 Kraft Mac& cheese. Used it tonight!
Sheepy – I have that too. I think we’ll see another different coupon booklet this week too.
-Lay’s sale does NOT include the Kettle chips, I had expired tear pads of Buy 2, get $3 off produce that matched nicely.
-Corn.. sign on display states “save $3″ when using B6G6 coupon.
-Didn’t see in ad, but noticed sale on all Pepsi branded 2 liters for 77 cents each. That’s cheaper than Walmart brand 2 liters!
****Think of the general mills promo as 50 cents off each item wyb 10, a little easier to think of the sale price before you apply the matching coupon savings. **********
The “boil in bag” type of frozen GG vegies is the small boxed vegetables, there are current printables for 50/2 and possible expired printables at higher value.
I had expired printables for 50/1 on the Steamers as well as $1/2 manu prints ?Target?
50 cents a bag for frozen vegies is a stellar deal!
Lots of printables for $1/1 smoothies matched with offer, equals .50 each.
Chex mix 50/1 with sale, equals .50 each.
My freezer is overflowing with all the good deals recently. Cheese, vegetables and smoothies.
I found an $1.00 off two pkgs Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs in 8/22/2010 Smart Source today to couple w/ the in-ad coupon for 2/$3 for same. (I’m a newbie and don’t have the older inserts)
Be sure to check your receipt before you leave the store for the instant $5 off items. I was there early yesterday morning and apparently was the THIRD person who it didn’t take off for. Thankfully, my bill seemed higher than I thought it was going to be and I looked before I left to discover it was missing.
Same with me – I was there at about 11 am Sunday morning and my $5 didn’t come off either. I hope they fixed it and/or everyone got their $5 off in another form!
IF any of you live or have family near Waseca, this is where I get my “stocking up” sweet corn. They have a Bird’s Eye plant in town and every day that they’re processing corn, they have a wagonful outside their door. You can buy the corn for $1/dozen or fill up a grocery bag full for $3. I usually get close to 4 dozen in a bag with tight packing. It’s great corn and was just picked that morning, so it can’t get fresher. It’s a great deal and I usually have my corn for the wimter. And Carrie – you can have all the cobs you need to make a good base stock! :~)
Oh, I wish i lived near Waseca! :)
Has anyone successfuly used Walgreens RR at the Cub in Sun Ray?
The Cub WSP and Cub in Sun Ray are both franchise stores, and do not accept RR. It seems that the only Cub stores that I can get to accept the RRs are corporate stores. Good luck!
Where are the fuel for school booklets found? I haven’t seen those. I’d love to know!
I found the ones I have at County Market (N Branch) and I’ve seen them somewhere else, maybe SuperOne (up northern MN) or one of the Rainbows?
Walmart had them on a display for Kellogs snacks.
I didn’t see these mentioned, but I see them on the website as being a week-long deal
(in ad coupons)
Jimmy Dean Roll Sausage 1.49
Cub Large Eggs 0.78
Thomas English Muffins 2/$3
Two Pounds Free bananas
Lisa – I think those coupons are specific to a particular store.
Oops you’re right, I didn’t see that since I missed getting a paper this week and was only looking online. It’s for Apple Valley.
Yesterday I went to Cub foods to use the $2 off $10 coupon (signed up their email) that expires yesterday. I got 10 Progresso soups for $15, get $5 off, and then I used the $2 off $10 coupon. And then 2 $1 off 4 Progresso soups (prints from coupons.com) and then $1 off 2 Pregresso from the gm insert a few weeks ago. So I am done to $5.50. Then I used the last $5 rr (I got from the Kraft deal last week). So I paid $0.50. On the rr printer, it printed a 50 bonus box tops. And then to my surprise, a $3 rr from general mills. It is not listed in the ad. So I got 10 cans off Progresso soups for $2.50. Not a bad deal.
At http://www.bettycrocker.com/coupons-promotions/coupons/coupons they have a lot of coupons that coincide with these deals for pizza rolls, smoothies, cake mix and frosting, soup, yogurt,..etc.
I was at Cub in Rogers last week and tried to use the Bush’s grilling coupons. The coupons expired 4/16/2010 (I believe) and the cashier would not take them. She said that they will only accpet coupons 3 months past expiration dates. The manger on duty said that has been the case for 3 months at least; I was bummed. Has anyone else found this to be true? I thought I had read Cub accepted coupons 5-6 months past expiration dates.
The Cub in Maple Grove will only take them for 3 months past expiration.
The Cub in Crystal takes coupons past the 3 month expiration. A cashier once told me that they’ll take all expired coupons. I usually don’t do 6 months past the expiration date, though.
Julie – Most Cub stores accept them for 3 months. I think there are only a handful that do for longer than that (Eden Prairie, maybe?).

If I have a $5 of $50 coupon from cub that expired 9-5-10 will they still take it expired or is that only with man fac coupons?
it is only for the manufacture coupons. I work there so we dont take the store coupons unless it is a raincheck. We only take manufacture coupons up to 3 months.
If you have your Cub insert from last week- you might be able to use the manu coupon for $2 off of four 12 packs of Coca Cola products. It did expire on 9/04/10, but Cub does take manu coupons past their date. So you might end up paying around $4 for 4 packs! I’ve done this before, but not yet with this week’s pop deal.
NOT included in the GM deal are these Chex mixes- Chocolate or Sweet & Salty. They ring up at $2.75. Only a few Bugles are included. Does not include Carmel or Chocolate Peanut Butter Bugles.
Despite having to go to customer service to re-ring with the Chex varieties that will work, I had a good trip. Both my cashier and the customer in line behind me wanted to know how I managed to get 2 cans of green bean, 3 boxes of GG vegs, 4 Totinos pizzas and a Smoothie mix for 49 cents!!! My second order for 3 boxes of GG vegs, and 7 asst’d packages of yogurt came to $.75! I used lots of coupons and a $5 catalina for each. I gave the the name of this website to both.
I did the unadvertised $10 Kellogg’s catalina today. I bought:
6 boxes of Apple Jacks – priced at $2.50 ea, used 3 of the coupons.com $1.50/2 coupons
2 boxes of Kellogg’s fruit snacks – priced at 2.00 ea, used 2 of the $1/1 listed above
2 boxes of 12 ct Poptarts – priced at $2.50 ea, used two FREE coupons from entering flavor codes at their website
Spent $12.50, got $10 catalina. Not bad!!!
If anyone else is willing to try/risk it, there are Kelloggs coupons in the 7/25RP, 8/1RP#1, 8/8RP, 8/15RP, 8/29SS, 8/29RP – none of which are expired.
If you want to use up expired coupons check the 5/2RP, 5/23RP, 6/6RP, 6/13RP, 6/20RP, 6/27RP and 7/11RP.
Carrie: I believe I had read a comment earlier from you regarding buying corn, blanching it, and making some type of corn chowder? I site to check might be http://www.organicgardening.com. It looks like there are recipes there for corn and what to do with it. I hope that helps.

Many of the GM coupons are available on Target’s coupon site. They are manufacturers coupons and DO NOT have the the Target logo! Included are Chex Mix, Progresso soup, Totinos, and more.
At the Cub closest to my house (E. Lake Street in Minneapolis). The crescent rolls did not work, either for $5 wyb 10. I am pretty convinced their system was programmed wrong. Three manager/supervisor types tried to convince me that the word “crescents” in the ad referred to some kind of yogurt!!!
There is also a catalina going that mirrors the one at Rainbow ($1 off your next order when you buy 4 biscuits, etc — there were signs posted near the items). I didn’t get this catalina either. I tried to be really nice about it and they were being pretty nice about it too. They finally gave me the $5 credit, but not the catalina. I had another transaction planned, but after that one I figured I should call it a night!
Just a heads up for anyone else who shops at that store or plans to buy crescents.
I found a booklet today, at Food Fest (Lammer’s in Menomonie, WI) postcard sized, yellow shaded cover, “better at home, eat at home for less” save up to $15 now. Included are recipes and coupons. Coupons I saw that are better than what I can print are $1/any cinnamon toast crunch cereal, and $1/2 any betty crocker boxed potatoes (except potato buds and betty crocker pouch. I plan to do those transactions tomorrow.
There is an unadvertised promotion going on with Pillsbury refrigerated items that mirrors the one at Rainbow. I can’t say FOR SURE which items are included, except the one that I did–Pillsbury Grands. The promotion reads like this:
Buy 4, get $1 coupon off your next order
Buy 5, get $2
Buy 6, get $3
I bought 6 Pillsbury Grands and 4 Yoplait Smoothies (to get the “Buy 10 sale price” on each item). I used two $0.75/3 coupons for the Grands and got a $3 catalina back. The Grands ended up being $0.25 each after coupons and the catalina. Nice!
Thanks, Mary!
Okay, did I just imagine the Land o Lakes .75 coupon off your next shopping order? I thought that is what it said on here earlier as an “unadvertised deal”. Either way I tried it today and I never got .75 back and no one seemed to know anything about it. Can someone please explain to me what an “unadvertised deal” means?
Now I see it on here again…I’m losing it, sorry. Anyways, didn’t work in WBL Cub and those containers are tiny so I ended up with a not so stellar deal, imo.
Received an amazing coupon booklet yesterday with a $10/$50 order coupon on the front. Good for 2 weeks. I think this one is regional to the Forest Lake area.
I didn’t get mine yet :(
Cascadian Farms is listed above under the General Mills deal. I did not know that Cascadian Farms was GM??? Is this in the wrong spot??
SarahBeth – Nope, it is in the right spot. Cascadian Farms is a General Mills brand as is Muir Glen, since we are talking organic :)
I received mine in Mendota Heights either on Wednesday or Thursday.
Carrie you should be recieving yours soon, I live in brooklyn Park by hwy9 and we recvd yesterday but our coupon was only 5 off 50
The coupon for $1/2 Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks brings me to Hills coffee web site.
Also, the $1/1 Kellogg’s Fruit Snack printable brings me to snackpicks with only two coupon choices, Cheez-Its and Famous Amos cookies. Did anyone find the fruit snacks?
I had a great day at Cub – shopped there rather than Rainbow this week due to the coupon book that came to us on Thursday. I used several of the coupons in the booklet and matched up manuf q’s to go with them. The G/M deal is great ($5 off order with 10 qualifying purhcases) – you just have to be very careful to get the exact products. Like, I realized the Green Giant Steamers do not count towards the 10 items even though they are on sale and I had good coupons to go with them. It’s just the frozen boil in the bag Green Giant veggies that count (and I think canned which I wasn’t buying). I ended up with just 7 qualifying items, but didn’t realize it until I went through my receipt at home. Cub was so good – I went back and they let me get 3 more qualifying items; then she just rang it with a $5 off. I saved $47 and spent about $65.
