I did this last year when I adopted my dog!

We found both our dogs on petfinder.com. Both are mixed breeds adopted in memory of our previous beloved dog, Louie, who passed away in 2004. We adopted Telly (short for Fratelli, the name of the restaurant in NY where we had our wedding reception in 2003) as a puppy and he is a happy-go-lucky dog. We adopted Stella Maris (the name of the summer camp near where we were married) about 6 months after we brought Telly home because he needed some dog manners and we figured a more mature dog might be able to make Telly understand that dogs relieve themselves OUTSIDE. Stella whipped him into shape in about a week. Stella is getting up there in age, they estimated she was between 3 and 6 when she was rescued from a farm in Marshall, MN (they were keeping her chained to a refrigerator in a field) and we’ve had her 6 years now. Her face is gray now and she still has some anxiety issues from her sad beginnings, but she knows she is loved and home forever.
