The daily deal fad continues with two more sites that will send you one deeply discounted daily deal in your inbox. Use your secondary email account when you sign up for these so that your main one doesn’t get cluttered up with the daily emails.
Roozt
Roozt stands out from other daily deal sites in a couple of ways.
First, they express a commitment to only provide deals from socially responsible companies; socially responsible companies only feature companies that have demonstrated a significant commitment to being Humanitarian, Community Conscious, Ethical, and/or Eco-Friendly.
Roozt also gives back. They are the only daily deal site, that I know of, where 1% of every purchase is given to non-profits. When you register you select which non-profit you’d like to receive your 1% and they’ll make it happen; there is a very short list of eleligble non-profits, but I suspect it will grow over time.
Whereas many daily deal sites feature local recreation and dining options, my understanding is that Roozt will feature more web-based deals. That means anyone, anywhere can benefit from their daily bargains.
Roozt is just finishing its pre-launch and offering one deal per week for the next couple weeks, then it will move to a daily deal. I signed up a few minutes ago, got a confirmation email, but can’t see the current deal yet.
CheapToday
CheapToday is another new daily deal site. I think it will be different than many of the other daily deal sites by including information on the hottest deals at large nationwide chains like Kohls and Macy’s. I just signed up myself, and have yet to receive my first email, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they send out a daily digest of free shipping codes and great clearance finds.
I’m not sure if I’ll like CheapToday’s newsletter, but I did it anyway since I’m game for signing up for most any email newsletter. I know I can cancel it in just a click if the emails aren’t for me (unsubscribe information is at the bottom of almost every newsletter)
Your turn: Since this daily deal fad started within the last year, what have you learned about buying daily deals?

I’ve learned you need to read the fine print very carefully.
Ditto. I have learned that you have to see how much tax and shipping is for any online deals because it may not be such a great deal after all.
