I (Laura) am beginning to think that these daily deal websites know what they’re doing. Not all of the deals they offer are stellar, but some of them are just good enough to tempt you to purchase something that you otherwise might not. That being said, I think it’s important to learn how to save money on our pet “splurges” (remember the Finish This Sentence discussion on splurges from last week?).
Plum District is offering a $10 Caribou Coffee gift card for just $5 through tomorrow. This offer is available to Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area residents only, limit one per household. Since your gift card will be mailed to the address you provide at checkout, you’ll be able to use it on multiple purchases that add up to $10. The gift card expires 8/26/15 – plus, the first 100 purchasers will also receive a coupon (I’m guessing via snail mail) for a free kids cocoa!

DealStork‘s deal of the day is $20 for a complete makeover/hairstyle, photo shoot and a 10×13 portrait from Glamour Shots in the Mall of America (a $90 value and 78% savings). Limit one voucher per person/family/group, expires 3/1/11. I’ve never been to Glamour Shots before so I have no advice or tips to give, but this sounds like a fun and super inexpensive opportunity to get a nice photo taken.
You can purchase this voucher through Saturday, and the Get It Done Fitness deal posted yesterday can still be purchased through tomorrow (Friday).

When I clicked on the link for Plum District, I got a baby clothing deal of the day. I can’t find the Caribou one, even looked under “Recent Plums”. Help, someone! I would really like to know what I’m doing wrong so I can order a Caribou card. Thanks!
Same thing happend to me at first. You need to change the location from ALL to Minneapolis, then it will show up. :)

I LOVE their Mango Ice Tea but since I got a FABULOUS deal on their tea bags at the warehouse sale last weekend I will be using this card to splurge on some iced mochas! :)

Tried to get the Carribou Coffee deal, and a pop up said it wasn’t available in that (Minneapolis/St. Paul) area when I tried to check out. Anyone else have that problem?

Before purchasing the Glamour Shots deal I would look at their website. They have similar offers that you won’t have to purchase before hand. Also you will love the pictures and want to purchase more sheets. My family has done the Glamour Shots experience several times, and each additional sheet can be $50-$75.
Question for the gals: Is it safe for a husband/fiancee/boyfriend to give a makeover certificate to their gal?? I sense disaster.
How many different sites are there to purchase discounts? CrowdCut, Groupon, LivingSocial. They just keep coming and coming.

I love the BOU and am so sad that IL seems to underappreciate them ( the closest is 45 min away!) The best drink to order is an iced coffee with a shot of white chocolate! Yum :)
