Rainbow Foods, Copps, Pick N Save Shopping List 8/22 – 8/28/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Hey everybody! It’s Carrie and I am back from a wonderful vacation. Be sure you cut out the prescription coupon from this week’s ad as it doesn’t expire until October 16 (the day before my birthday, in case you are keeping track!) and might come in handy. Also, there are a number of other manufacturer’s coupons in the ad that can be used at any retailer that accepts coupons.

If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.

Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list: as we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Buy 6 Boxes or General Mills Cereal at Regular Price, Get $10 Off Instantly at Checkout and Coupons for a Gallon of Roundy’s Milk Free and 1 Dozen Roundy’s Eggs Free on a future visit

A few notes:

– The ad does not specify, but in times past you only received the $10 off when you scanned your Roundy’s loyalty card at the time of purchase.

— I bet, but won’t guarantee, that all the General Mills cereal printable coupons say “do not double” on them.

— In my experience with the free milk coupons generated from a General Mills promotion they take off $3.25 off your next order that includes milk, regardless of the price of the milk. Ditto with the egg coupon taking off $1.75 regardless of the value of the eggs.

— This is one case where I bring all my cereal coupons with me. It helps a lot when they are sold out of a kind I wanted.

— To easily figure out if you are getting a good deal work backwards. For instance, I won’t pay more than $1 per box of cereal, which would mean my final price needs to be $6 or less for all 6 boxes. From there, add in the $10 you’ll get off for buying six boxes; this means the price for all 6 boxes can’t be more than $16. Then, add in whatever coupons you have (and double 5 of them, if that applies). Let’s say you had five $1/1 coupons that could be doubled and one $0.75/1 coupon; add $10.75 more (five $1 coupons, doubled to $10, plus the $0.75 for the last coupon) to bring your pre-coupon, pre-discount total to $26.75. What is $26.75? That is the highest price that all six boxes can total if you want to buy at a target price of $1 per box. The nice thing about this method is that it doesn’t count the value of the milk as part of what it takes to reach your target price.

Buy 6 and use combination of the following coupons:

Buy $20 worth of Kimberly-Clark products and use a Roundy’s loyalty card, Get a free box of Kleenex on your current grocery order and $5 off your next shopping trip

A few notes:

– You won’t get the deal if you don’t have the cashier scan your free Roundy’s loyalty card before your order is complete. You can get a card at the Customer Service counter.

– The ad reads “$20 worth of Kimberly Clark products” not “select Kimberly Clark products” so I assume any of their products are eligible, even if they are not on sale and advertised in this week’s ad.

— This promotion runs through August 31, although the sale priced items are likely only going to be around this week.

– I am not putting together a deal idea with this because, apart from using multiple coupons on something like Poise Liners or Glade Plug-Ins, nothing will be free or close to it. My personal favorite items are the Scott paper towels and TP, since I think they are at a good price even without the extra $5 off. Also, with enough coupons the Huggies wipes could be a great deal and the big box of diapers plus a Kleenex could be a good price.

Advertised sale items with coupons are listed below:

Poise Liners $2.49

  1. Alison says:

If you live near St. Louis Park, they have an additional flyer this week celebrating their 1st anniversary of the store. Oscar Mayer hot dogs for 99 cents each, $1/2 in 8/22 SS doubled would be 2 packs of free hot dogs.

  2. JoAnna says:

It is a very long and detailed list this wk–thanks and welcome back.

  3. JoAnna says:

Nivea lipcare $2/2–it says it is no longer available.

  4. Lisa says:

Wow, thanks for getting the list up so quickly – I love your website. Hope you had a wonderful vacation :)

  5. sandy watson says:

My canning coupons say do not double
SS today had GM cereal coupon — did not say DO NOT DOUBLE
Starbucks Ice Cream — $2.50 less doubled $1 = .50 and I purchased the ice cream at Walgreens today B1G1; could only use one $1 off coupon – $1.67 each DARN!!

  6. Julie DeWilde says:

    Carrie,

A few things… I have several General Mills coupons that allow doubling. There was one in fact in the paper today. I am excited to get some Rice Chex as my daughter and I both eat gluten-free. That motivated me to go get a second paper. I also have some smartsource coupons for General Mills that will double.

Also, just wondering what your thoughts are on the following. We stuck to our budget the last 2 months, and we could make it through the month without going over. That said, I am really tempted as 1) I can get the gluten free cereal so cheap this week at Rainbow, and we are in fact running low on that one. 2) there are several things we can get for free this week at Rainbow, which of course, means spending the $25 worth to get them. We have the cash flow to spend; it just would mean putting a tad less in savings this month. Do you have an opinion?

Also, I have a $10 Rainbow catalina coupon. Do I have to spend $25 after the catalina? And it’s $25 regular price right? Not sales price? Thanks for any feedback.

Also, just thought I’d pass this on: I visited all 3 Mike’s Discount Foods the past 2 weeks, went back to the one in Fridley today. I highly recommend checking out the one in Fridley, especially if you can car pool with someone (to justify the gas). Their prices are truly amazing, lower than Aldi on many items, although not as much variety. A 10# bag of Russet potatoes was $2. I know Cub has that too this week. Peaches were .99 a pound. Strawberries were $1 for a 16 oz size. Blueberries were 4 pints for $5. Organic bananas were .39 a pound. Rice was very cheap, but most of it was not enriched. Cherries were $1.99 a pound. Ground beef 80/20-$1.49 a pound. Many more deals. They buy meat and deep freeze it before the expiration date. Last week I got 12 oz of broccoli for .50 and organic peaches for .99 a pound. I was not as impressed with the Columbia Heights or Anoka stores. In Fridley, if you spend $50, you get 10% off. I think bags of corn chips were .50 each. They do not take coupons. Easy access to carts. They take cash, I think checks, and for sure debit cards. I think it’s worth checking out.

    -Julie

    • Dan Goodman says:

Julie, thanks for Mike’s Discount Foods! Looks like I can get to the Columbia Heights store by bus without much trouble.

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Julie – First, congrats on sticking to your budget in recent months! Yay! The $10 off coupon is like any other coupon, meaning you have to reach $25 BEFORE you use it based on the “shelf” price (which is the highest price listed on the shelf. It typically is the same as the full price, but not always). On the idea of going over budget – in addition to asking “do we have cash to go over budget?” is “what are we giving up by spending more in this area?” If you are okay giving up whatever else you’d use the money for, by actually making this conscious decision to go over budget, then I would do it. I’m not quite as rigid as it might seem and as I write more about getting out of debt I’ll talk about how we handle these kinds of situations in my family. Good questions!

      • Jen says:

But since that coupon isn’t doubling, if you were using it on a regular transaction of any amount shouldn’t that come off no matter what as long as you’re spending more than $10? I’m not sure the $25 threshold would apply to using your basic, “$10 off your next order” coupon right?

        • Jen says:

What I meant was on a non-doubling day of course! ;) I just re-read that and went, “wait I only said half of what I meant”. But yes on a doubling day….oy, just ignore me! No caffeine yet this morning! ;)

  7. Carol says:

your link to the coupon for the black forest gummies doesn’t go anywhere

  8. Jenni says:

Hi! Hostess is out of prints, so is Capri Suns. I found a link to a Lunchables printable: http://kraft.promotions.com/lunchnotespromise2010/splash.do?utm_source=Specific

thanks for this awesome list and website! :)

  9. MA says:

Thanks for getting these up so quick! It was a big list!
FYI…there is problem with the Black Forest gummie link.

  10. Laura says:

Both of the Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh $1/1 links are out of prints. So is the Yoplait Splitz. Jenni, thanks for the lunchables link!

  11. Laura2 says:

The Chicken breasts were priced at 5.39/lb on Saturday (which I think is very high). However, there were packages with widely varied weights so I just chose a smaller package (under a pound) and used the $3 coupon.

  12. Dawn N says:

Carrie, welcome back, hope you had a fantastic vacation.

When figuring toliet paper within price range per roll do you figure by single roll or double roll?

  13. Mary says:

Does anyone know what the Anniversary specials are this week at the SLP rainbow?

    Thanks!

    • Alison says:

Okay, here’s most of the anniversary specials at the SLP store. I didn’t see that many great deals other than the grapes and the hot dogs. Maybe the pop if you have a coke coupon, or the cheese if there is a Kraft coupon out there.

USDA choice black angus boneless beef top sirloin steak – 2.99 lb
      green grapes 88 cents lb
oscar mayer hot dogs 99 cents (16 oz)
      1.77 coke 12 packs (must purchase 4) limit 4
Old Dutch potato or tortilla chips BOGO (save up to 3.99 it says)
Kraft shredded or chunk cheese – 5-9.6 oz – 1.50
      Deli Ham 3.99 lb
      Edy’s ice cream 2.28
      roundy’s white bread 50 cents
      Kraft dressing 1.50
      Jacks pizzas $2 (limit 5)
fresh (ball) mozzarella 8 oz 2.99
Dial pump or 3 bar soap 1.50
Kraft singles or melt downs $1.88
Ore Ida hash browns or tator tots – $2
      Oreo cookies $2.50
      Tide 8.99 (100oz) limit 1
      French bread 16 oz – 99 cents
Charmin tissue 4.99 (6-24 roll varieties) limit 1
      Revlon Make-up 25% off

      • Mary says:

Thanks! Your list helps my planning alot! For the Jacks there is a $0.55/1 from the 8/22 SS

      • Shelly says:

I thought there were some pretty good deals in the SLP anniversary ad. The $4.99 Charmin price for a big package goes with a $1 off coupon any Charmin I had in my file. (Sorry, I don’t know where I got it since it was already in there). $2.99 is a great price!

Jacks pizza for $2 apiece is a good price, and there was a $1 off 3 coupon in my SS this past weekend. The teens in this house like that brand.

  14. Julie DeWilde says:

Mike’s Discount Foods in Fridley has all natural chicken breasts. I think it was $4 for 24 oz. That’s about $2.67 a pound.

    • SarahBeth says:

      Where is this store located?

      • Sarah says:

The one in Fridley is just off University Ave. and Osborne. It is on the south west side in a little strip mall behind the Freedom gas station. It is right next to the Mill End Textile. Good luck, hope you find it great deals are to be had there!

  15. Therese S. says:

will be a good week at Rainbow…thanks for the list!

  16. Emily says:

On the cereal deal, do you have to reach $25 before or after the automatic $10 off?

  17. Melissa says:

Does anyone know where the Wanchai Entrees are located? I thought about purchasing one the last time they were on sale, however, I couldn’t find them.

    Thanks in advance,
    Melissa

    • Toni says:

Well, I don’t know if this is only at my store, but they USED to be by the TV dinners, etc., but then they moved them across the aisle, nestled between breakfast foods and frozen pizza. I would have never thought to look there for Wanchai (and Kahiki) if I hadn’t asked the employee stocking frozen items back there.

      • Melissa says:

Thanks Toni. Have you tried them?

        • Toni says:

I’ve tried the Orange Chicken (whatever the name is) from Wanchai, and I thought it was very good. The sauce was great, and had a slight bite to it. Just one warning, though, if you’re really big on meat (like my mom)—you might think that there wasn’t enough chicken in the overall dish. It’s a matter of taste, I guess.

        • Laura says:

We LOVE the orange chicken from Wanchai Ferry. The others – Meh. But the orange chicken is very good.

  18. Maria says:

Unless I’m mistaken, my August All You has Dole Fruit Bowls coupon $1 on 3, not on one.

    • Dawn N says:

Mine says that as well so if you double coupon on that item the FP would be .33 cents after doubled coupon on the jar type.

  19. Tori says:

Does anyone know if the purchase of a gift card (such as iTunes) counts towards your $25 for doubling?

  20. Em says:

Does anyone know what is this ‘Roundys Loyalty Card’? Is that same as the Roundys Rewards card that we use for fuel perks?

  21. Bethany C says:

Question: If I do the GM cereal promotion two times in the same transaction will BOTH (2) free milk and (2) free eggs CRT’s print?? I don’t want to do it and have only one print!!

    • Toni says:

I believe you would have to do two transactions, because I’m pretty sure multiple catalinas won’t print for two GM deals purchased in one transaction.

  22. S says:

FYI…. There’s a correction on the Kimberly Clark promotion the free box of kleenex will not be on your current shopping it will print a coupon to use in your next shopping trip as well as the $5.00

    • In my ad it specifically states to bring your free Kleenex up to the register when you check out, as all participating items must be purchased together. Did you try this and it printed out the coupon instead? Thanks!

      • s says:

at the Coon Rapids Rainbow there’s papers posted under the kleenex and other kimberly clark products with the correction: the free kleenex and the $5.00 OYNO wll print at the end of your purchase or something like that

  23. Ashley says:

fyi- if you are going to do the soyjoy deal: it does not include the money you are saving from the buy1/get1 towards the $25 dollar mark to get the $5 dollars off.

  24. Ashley says:

FYI on the SOYJOY promo: it does not include the free bars pricing towards the $25 mark to get the $5 off.

  25. Diane Emahiser says:

I saw that Rainbow is going to start doing UPromise. Does anyone know anything about this. Also, does that site give you coupons like Cellfire to load on your card.

    • With UPromise, you load e-coupons onto your Roundy’s card, but you don’t save that money off your bill. The “savings” goes into your UPromise account for buying that item. Go to their website to sign up and learn more.

  26. Jill says:

Is Wednesday still the double coupon day?

  27. Carrie-
Glade is not a Kimberly-Clark product, so it will not count toward the $20 worth of KC products to get ther $5 OYNO. Glade is made by SC Johnson.

  28. Kim says:

Check out your Holiday Station Stores, mine had coupons for 1.00 off of one Stouffers or Lean Cuisine. They were on a pad stuck on the freezer door.

  29. Carol says:

when i go to print the keebler coupon, it says i need to install the coupon printer and when i click on install it doesn’t do anything is anyone else having trouble with this

    • Toni says:

What browser are you using? I’ve had this problem with both Firefox and IE, but more often with Firefox. There are a number of things I could recommend, but sometimes the simplest way around this is to restart your computer, and try again. :(

  30. Alissa says:

The 16 ounce Roundy’s sour cream and French onion dip is $1.00 this week–$.50 per 8 ounces.

  31. Mary says:

I stopped in at the Rainbow in Bloomington on Tuesday, and there was a sign for the Perdue Chicken, that they are not accepting the $3 roundy’s coupon, but the chicken will all be rung up at 1.99/lb package weight varied around 1.3lbs. It did not look like there was a limit, and there was plenty of supply.

Also, the Roundy cheese at $1 was wiped out, I hope they restock for Wednesday. I am out of swiss and cheddar.

  32. Michelle M says:

FYI. The PG ad for Crest toothpast had a $.75 coupon – it looks identical to the $.50 coupon.

  33. Jen says:

Is there a list of the shelf prices for the General Mills cereals somewhere? Maybe we could compile a list this week if not based on our own shopping receipts?

    • Erica says:

I’ve seen them for $3.00 to $4.15 in previous shopping trips. I’ll update my reply with my results after I go to Rainbow this afternoon.

    • Kristi says:

I have gotten some for 2.99 (lowest price for gm)

    • Denise says:

I got 6 boxes of Chex Mix (2 wheat, 2 corn and 2 rice) for $3.09 each. The wheat chex came in a much smaller box, but was the same price.

      • Denise says:

sorry, meant Chex cereal, am planning to make Chex mix soon :)

      • Mary says:

The boxes of rice and corn Chex in the Bloomington MN Rainbow were $2.99, Total $3.59, and the small box of cinnamon toast crunch $2.79

        • Amber says:

I found these prices today on the smaller boxes:
          Chex Mix $3.09
          Regular Cheerios $2.99
          Cocoa Puffs $2.99
          Cinnamon Toast Crunch $2.79

I am also pretty sure I saw Fiber One cereal for $4.19 (because I was going to use the $0.75 Fiber One coupon but decided not too after seeing the price) and Wheaties for $3.29 (maybe $3.19)

    • Jen says:

      I bought:

      Multigrain Cheerios (9 oz box) $3.39 (I bought 5)
Cinnamon Toast Crunch (9 oz box) $2.79

    • Shelly says:

If you have a kid that is totally into the new Wheaties Fuel cereal, the small box is crazy expensive. $4.49 at Rainbow. However, that’s what he likes, and – because it’s new – I had a stack of $1 and .75 off ONE box coupons. One was expired on 8/23, but because of people on this site saying sometimes coupons don’t actually expire until the end of the week, I had it, and it went through just fine. So I spent something like $7.50 for my 6 boxes of Wheaties Fuel, but the milk and egg coupon always end up being “money makers”; so I’m pleased to have gotten the cereal he likes for that price. I can’t imagine paying that much for one small box of cereal!!!

The Charmin deal was great. I got the big 12 double roll pack for $2.99. The chicken breast deal was on at SLP, too. Both packages I got were about $8 on the package, but both rang up at about $3. That is boneless, skinless, cage free, hormone free.

Lastly, I always think the Arnold bread for $1.50 is a good deal. The whole wheat kind is very comparable to Brownberry as far as I can tell. No high-fructose corn syrup; whole wheat flour is 1st ingredient. And, actually, as I compared the ingredients of my current Brownberry loaf to the Arnold I just bought, I see that Brownberry is a part of the Arnold Bread company. I never knew that! Rainbow puts Arnold varieties for $1.50 quite often.

  34. Melissa says:

Am i missing something on the Campbells Select soups? If the coupon is for $1 and the soup is $1.66, wouldn’t it be free after doubled coupon? Help!

    Campbell’s Select Harvest Soup $1.66
Use $1/1 Campbell’s Harvest Select Soup printable
Final price: $0.66 after doubled coupon**

  35. Emily says:

Just a heads up- I was just at the Coon Rapids Rainbow at 8am and they are out of: crest toothpaste, skintimate shaving cream, ERA for HE washers, Glad Sandwich bags, and Roundy’s Strawberry jelly. Bring extra coupons!!

    • Denise says:

I was at CR this morning shortly after you, and it seemed like they were out of a LOT of things. Chicken nuggets were out, they did have a few chicken strips left. The roasts were all gigantic $15 ones, they didn’t have any smaller ones. Definitely bring extra coupons, I had to improvise a couple of times.

  36. Raine says:

If you need a Red Hot Savings coupon booklet, check with the service counter. They had a whole stack at the Shoreview Rainbow. Also, the Perdue boneless skinless chicken in the coupon book says a limit of 1 but I was told by the meat guy and a sales assoc that there is no limit. There are some that are under $3. I had two orders and used coupons for each- paid $0.06 for one and $0.20 for the other! Also, they accepted three coupons for the Pampers- the $8.88 from the booklet, a $1.50 off and the free wipes with purchase- she had to key in the discount, but made no qualms about doing so. This location also had Jennie -O turkey brats and patties (or burgers, I can’t remember) on sale 2/$7 and had $0.55/1 peelies on them… Good day shopping for me!

  37. Jamie says:

Does anyone know what the cost is on the Honey Nut Cheerios?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Amber says:

I am pretty sure I saw them for $3.99…I was going to get them, but when I saw the regular Cheerios were $2.99, I got those instead

  38. Amanda says:

There is a coupon for $1/1 snyder’s pretzels in the 7/25 (i think…I’m at work right now) They are on sale for $2.00 each, so free!

  39. Leann says:

The Oscar Mayer Regular Lunchables $1.00 coupon is for the ones that have water with them. Has anyone gotten it to work for the ones on sale?
And the Hillshire Farm Ultra Thin Deli Shaved or Hearty Slices Lunchmeat (8-9 oz.) $3.50 are all out of prints.

    • Leann says:

Almost forgot. I did get 3 of the lunchables over the weekend (without using any coupons) and got at catalina for $1/5! Doubled that will make them .60 each!

  40. Mary says:

I did the Buy $20 worth of Kimberly-Clark products and had an extra nice surprise, a Playtex tampon Catalina for 1 box up to $4.99 in value, on the receipt were the coupons for the free box of Kleenex and $5 off your next shopping trip

    I bought:
    1 Kotex U Tampons $3.49
    1 Kotex Tampons $2.49
    1. Scott Bath Tissue or Paper Towels $5.98
    6 Kleenex at $1.50 each

I don’t know if you need to buy both Kotex tampon products, or if just 1 of them will generate the extra catalina.

  41. Jen says:

About the Roundy’s 16 oz sour cream….be sure to check the dates on them. I was going to buy the Fat Free and the date on it was tomorrow! I ended up buying the other one instead that had a date toward the middle of September if I remember correctly.

Does anyone know…can you freeze sour cream as is in an unopened container?

    • val-WI says:

i tried it once…and it was really grainy and watery after i took it out of the freezer i wouldn’t recommend it.

  42. Michelle says:

There is no $3.00 coupon for Huggies diapers on the link for either diaper deal listed.

  43. Amber says:

FYI — You will only get a $5 catalina for the Kimberly Clark deal by purchasing the products listed. I was hoping it would print for any Kimberly Clark product so I bought the Poise liners for $2.49 and Huggies wipes (64 ct) for $2.99 (along with some things posted in the picture) and the catalina didn’t print. The woman at Customer Service said it was only for the featured products :-( Hope this helps for someone planning their Rainbow trip!

    • Amber says:

After that little mix up got fixed, I got $200 worth of groceries (including 2 packs of Huggies wipe refills and 4 jumbo Huggies packages) for $37 (before tax)! Very good trip today

    • Brenda P says:

You know I shopped at the EP Rainbow today and purchased two of the Cottonelle 12-roll packages pictured in the flyer. I also bought 2 of the 4-roll packs as well as 3 boxes of the Kleenex hand towels (had coupons to double for all)… and I did get the $5 off my next purchase as well as a coupon for a free box of Kleenex.

    • Jen says:

I should know this already but I don’t….can you roll the $5 Kimberly Clark into another Kimberly Clark transaction? I only ask because at WAGS you can’t but that’s a WAG’s thing and I assume this is all manufacturer-based, right?

  44. angela says:

The GUM Sunstar Toothbrush coupon worked for me with the one I selected. I don’t know if it works for all of them.

  45. Jane says:

I just went to the Rainbow in the Quarry at 35W and New Brighton Blvd and the Perdue chicken is marked down to $1.99 a pound and I could use my coupon for $3 off. I bought a package that was $3.07 so I just got my chicken for $.07!

    • Cindy P. says:

Bummer, Columbia Heights didn’t have that deal.

      • Cindy P. says:

I just looked at my receipt and the chicken might have been marked down! It said it was $4.38 before my coupon. And I know the price tag said $7 something. Whoo-Hoo!

  46. Brenda P says:

I was lucky today. I forgot to have my Roundy’s card scanned, but still got the $10 off on the Kellogg’s promotion as well as the coupons for the free milk and eggs. Phew.

    • Amanda says:

Did your coupons still double? You may want to check your receipt. (my husband forgot once, and it was a hassle to have the service counter refund the “doubled” part, but they did do it)

  47. Kristen says:

I can’t find the Rice/Roni Q on the link? Anyone else find it? Thanks.

  48. Cindy P. says:

In the Rainbow flyer there is a coupon for $1 off Jif peanut butter and it is $2.00 on sale this week. So with the double coupon it was free!

I spent $28 today and saved $51 on 1 transaction.

  49. Judith says:

I have a quick question… first time couponing. I did pretty well! Spent $25 and saved $55. =D Anyway… I did the 6 boxes of cereal thing and got the $10 off and coupon for milk and eggs (no rewards card either at that point), and I got a coupon for 2 dollars of 5 boxes of GM cereal. So I was thinking about doing the cereal deal again, but I was wondering if the cereal adds up to $25 before the instant $10 off if they’ll double coupons, or if the transaction would have to add up to $25 after the $10 off. Anyone know?

    LOVE this site!!

    • Erica says:

I purchased 6 General Mills cereals, diced tomatoes and strawberries – my transaction came to $17.21 ($27.21 shelf price less $10 instant coupon) before I gave my coupons to double. My total came to $8.96!

So, your cereal and other items should add up to $25 BEFORE the isntant $10 off for your coupons to double.

      Does that make sense?

  50. Moncia says:

If you are planning to stop at Mike’s discount foods in Fridley–check the weekly online ad for Bob’s produce too to see if there are any specials there to make it worth the stop as it’s just across the street from the Mike’s in Fridley. Also, Bob’s has a clearance section usually on a tall multi-shelf bakers type rack towards the bananas. If you want to hit another place in the same area for deals, be sure to check out the Concept 2Bakery-used to be a McGlynn’s outlet store and now sells mostly breads. (It’s on Commerce Lane between 73rd and Osborne Rd.) I can’t recall for sure but it’s like 3 loaves for $2 or something very reasonable. The variety of breads varies from day to day and from morning to afternoon. We’ve gotten foccacia rolls for 10 cents each, chocolate bread, rye bread, whole grain bread, etc. It can be frozen once brought home and it’s very good bread!
