Rainbow Foods, Copps, Pick N Save Shopping List 8/1 – 8/7/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

Hold on to your hats for one of the best week’s of grocery sales we’ve seen at Rainbow Foods, Copps and Pick N Save in months. Plus, they have extended the Saturday Double Daze promotion into October, which means they will continue to double up to 5 coupons on either Wednesday or Saturday (Restrictions apply. Read the complete rules of coupon doubling here before you get started).

If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.

Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list. As we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Your turn: What deal ideas are you putting together for all the special promotional buys this week?

Comments

  1. Heidi says:

Looks to me like the Hunt’s tomatoes coupon (8/1 SS) is just for $0.45/3, not $1/3. Was it a different coupon that I’m not seeing?

  2. Neil says:

I went to Rainbow 3 times today. I got the $10 off future purchase coupon on the 1st visit and used it on my 2nd visit. She scanned in all the coupons so I know it went thru fine. Well of course I get home, and I’m scratching my head wondering why my $ 10.00 off doesn’t show up on my receipt, but now I see why. My final total before taxes is $9.93, After taxes it was $ 10.05. I’m guessing that since my final total before taxes was less than $10 that my $10 coupon didn’t get added. If I go back and talk to customer service and ask them, is there a way for them to verify my $ 10 coupon and give me another one (or a $ 10 giftcard?) It’s kind of sticky since obviously I don’t have the coupon anymore, and it’s just my word….but I’m thinking possibly it might be in their system. Anybody have experience with this?

    • Amber says:

It wouldn’t hurt to go in and ask. I think it will depend on the cashier and the manager.

I used a self checkout lane yesterday and bought 5 Philadelphia Cream Cheeses for the $5 off your next order catalina and completely forgot to grab it because I was distracted by my screaming 1 year old. I didn’t realize until an hour after I was there. I did go back right after I realized it because I wanted to see what they would say…of course no one turned it in. The customer service girl said there was nothing she could do because they have no proof I didn’t grab it. I asked to talk to the manager and he said “I am not going to argue with you over $5″ and hesitantly reprinted the catalina out for me.

So my advice would be go in there today, see what they say. If the customer service employee says there’s nothing he/she can do, then ask to talk to a manager. If the manager says no, I would contact corporate and they would more than likely do something about it.
      Hope this helps!

Do you know if there is a policy change for Rainbow to stop accepting Walgreens Register Rewards? MG wouldn’t take them though they always have in the past. Thanks.

  6. Ilene says:

I tried to use a Walgreen’s RR at WSP yesterday but the young male cashier would not accept it referring to it saying “Aceptable at Walgreens” which is true but it doesnt indicate “Only at Walgreens”. I did point out it was a manufacture coupon but wasnt going to aruge as there were customers behind waiting to check out. SHould have taken it to Customer Service but at that point I was tired of shopping. Tried using one at the WSP Cub a month or so ago and the long time cashier said she had never seen one before.

Good news on my $ 10 Kellogg’s coupon that was scanned but not deducted… I just went to customer service at the Robbinsdale store and explained what happened. She had no problem handing me a crisp $ 10 bill. She said she’s supposed to fill out some form for me to use at the register the next time I go, but she says sometimes cashiers have problems with the form/slip. Sweet!

I did awesome. I lost one of my receipts so I am only 90% sure on my math here. I give myself pretty darn detailed grocery lists with before and after prices including my doubled coupons. Anway, I think I would have spent $103.78, but after all your help and thanks to Roundy’s for doubling coupons I spent $22.32. The $22.32 I know for sure. This is the first time I did more than two transactions. I have started going out to my car bewteen to be polite. The cashier even commented on this. That they appreciate it and so do other customers. I did the Kraft deal the week before and used that $5 to pay with my first transaction. Got the Kellogg’s $10 on first order and used it to pay for my second. On my second I did the Unilever deal and used the Kellogg’s $10 off and received the Unilever $5. I then used the $5 on my last transaction. Yay! Got all that? Ha ha. I did find the Western $1/2 coupons on the shelf in a dispenser so was better than my $1.50/2 I was going to use.

Want to mention that I got majorly scolded and a check mark next to my name (not really, but they work like demerits) for posting on a coupon forum about one of my transactions reaching the $25 by using the shelf price of the chicken and not the sale price. I didn’t know that this went against policy. Now I feel really bad and won’t be telling anyone to try this. It was the first time ever I calculated a transaction to go by this math. I only used the chicken to do it. It was the last transaction I did. My post got deleted and I got an email telling me I was naughty from the moderator. :( It was huge post explaining my great finds and such. Oh well. I learned my lesson.

    HELP!

I can’t get coupons to print on my mac! Does anyone have a solution? I have downloaded the “printer installer” four times now and the coupons simply won’t print. Any advice?

    Thanks!

  13. Michelle says:

I keep seeing you mention the Red Plum insert. The only Red Plum I get is in the mail, and it never has the coupons you mention. Where do I get this Red Plum insert? It’s never in my Sunday Paper!

  14. Linda says:

I was afraid to do the eggo waffle deal on Wednesday, but after reading the comments I decided to try it today. I can’t believe I got 10 boxes of Eggo waffles for free!! Thanks so much for you blog and all of the helpful tips. My kids are going to love these.

I also noticed tonight that the regular price of Pop Tarts is $1.99 so if someone has 5 $1/2 Pop Tarts coupons it will be free after the money off next order too. I’ll try to remember to add that to next week’s shopping list, since the $10 promotion continues beyond this week’s sales.

  15. Michele says:

What a great shopping day – Spent $63 and saved $176! If you are still planning to do the The P&G free grill promotion be aware it is $25 before coupons. At LV RB they have the reynolds recycled aluminum foil 50% off ($1.39), there are $1.00 off coupons in the back of the store just to the left of the yogurt coolers. Thanks for the wonderful website!

I never do catalina deals at pick n save…sometimes it accidently just happens but i NEVER (well thats not true I did the california pizza chicken one a few months back… i bought like 10 pizzas in the span of 3 days and got a whooping one dollar off next visit one time) get the catalina to print out. I don’t know what it is. Today I got the 10 kellogs promotion..and nothing printed out, I went to CS and stood there for 15 mins while they were on the phone only for the catalina person to tell me they will mail it or call me to tell me why it didnt work. I dont get it? Makes me really angry because I wanted to get in on these deals but if they dont print out it’s not worth it.

  17. Valrie says:

Very excited about the Eggo waffles deal since my 1 year old loves to have those as breakfast. Ordered 20 coupons from ebay for the very first time and received them in time. Got 10 boxes today for free!~ Will be back for another 10 next Wednesday! Now I only regretted that I didn’t take advantage of the freezer deal at cubs couple months ago…

Don’t forget next Wednesday 8/11 is the double double coupon day at Pick N Save that you get to double 10 coupons!

  18. Valrie says:
