There aren’t a lot of great deals this week at Walgreens, but the best ones available are on school supplies (surprise, surprise). Remember that it’s best to stock up on school supplies now as prices on them slowly rise over the course of the summer. Think ahead too, at buying extra school supplies for stocking stuffers and to give away at toy drives and Operation Christmas Child in a few months.
If you’re new to Walgreens shopping, then learn how the Register Rewards program works and learn how to read this shopping list. Don’t forget that some other stores will accept Register Rewards like a manufacturer’s coupon.
This is a starting list of deals for the week and is not a comprehensive list of every sale item and its coupons, but just the best deals (things at prices I’d actually pay). As readers leave comments with bargains they found at their local store, we get emails with deal ideas, or we read about other deals across the blogosphere, we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.
Helpful hint: Walgreens is the one store where an advertised sale like “2 for $4” usually requires you to buy two products. The first one rings at full price and the second product will ring at a lesser price to bring the total to $4, using our example. If you ever question whether you need to buy two to receive a sale price, ask the cashier to scan one item for you. If it rings at full price, then you know you need to buy two products. If it rings at the sale price, then you don’t.
Your turn: What other deals did you find at Walgreens this week?

Um, STILL use Twizzlers as straws! It’s the best with Dr. Pepper.
Jen – I deleted a sentence where I’d written that I used Twizzler straws to drink pop (that’s soda to those not from Minnesota), but now that you admitted it first I’ll say that I always did that too :)
I also used twizzlers for straws for pop. I definitely thought I was cool when I did that…
Sprite was my favorite and is still delicious in my memory. If you leave the “straw” in there long enough, it turns it pink. I’m sure I would now wonder why I loved it so much…
I rarely did, but my 2 year old caught onto it, and we now keep twizzlers in the house for that.
“Soda” is making inroads in Minnesota. After all the trouble I went to remembering to say “pop.” Note: In various parts of the US it’s pop, soda, soda pop, coke (all kinds), tonic.
When you shop at SuperTarget the aisle says “Soda” – guess they are trying to get us to switch from saying pop!
Dollar Tree has scientific calculators for $1. Made by a Chinese company you’ve never heard of, and the keyboard is smaller than the Texas Instrument keyboards (the calculator itself is smaller.) The one I got a few days ago is working fine so far.
The ink deal isn’t that great. The $10 off gets the price down to about what Office Max has their ink at retail. I always have a $15 off coupon for Office Max, so OM is a better deal.
I was thinking the same thing. But where do you get a $15.00 off coupon?
I forgot to hit “reply” on my response. See comment below.
Hey Carrie….when I was in 6th grade a calculator was the size of an 1990′s computer monitor…I feel a bit like I lived in a cave! :)
I remember working at Wards during High School and we sold those calculators and 100.00 or so was the going price with sales bringing them down in the 90.00 range. Didn’t need it except for special classes in High School or for College courses. What a difference time makes.
Yes, and now my 5th grade daughter needs one for school. Glad they are not $100 anymore!
I can’t seem to get the Celsius tea link to work. Is anyone else having that problem?
Karen – Try the link again or try this one: http://www.trycelsius.com/Default.asp?bhjs=0.
the honey coupon expiered 6-30
I have 4 Red Plum inserts 6-27.Only one has the Mars coupon in it..BUMMER
Regarding the Walgreens pain relief…if that is for the Walgreens over the counter medicines you should be able to use the 50 cent off coupon that was in this week’s Parade magazine to further discount the deal.
Thanks, Karen!
Does anyone know if the Woodbury CUB takes expired Register Rewards coupons?
[...] you to Pocket Your Dollars for their [...]
For the tea I printed cpns last week. I did see a coupon in the parade magazine today for .50 cents off a single can and $2 off a 4 pack or higher so be sure to check your parade advertisement for the cpns. I do get a Star & Trib (mpls) and the Pioneer Press (st. paul) paper and have only gone through one insert.
You can buy Grape Nuts cereal for 50 cents a box this week. It is on sale at 2/$5. I happened to have two coupons for $2 off 1 box…. they were prinatables for a CVS sale a few weeks ago. (CVS was out of them so I still had the coupons.)
Has anyone heard that you can dilute Listerine and use it as an insect repellant?? Haven’t tried it yet but for 99cents this week I’m curious . . . .
SS 6/27 according to the coupon database for the Twizzlers $1 off 3
There was a coupon for a $1 off 3 twizzlers a couple weeks ago, sorry don’t have the date or which pub it was in.
I noticed in the shampoo/conditioner isle that some of the Renpure Organics conditioners were 6.99 with a tag around the neck of the bottle for a “Try Me Free” mail in rebate. Just says it needs to be mailed within 30 days of purchase (no expiration date otherwise listed)
I get a number of the $15 coupons because I own a business, and I got on their mailing list. And I am a member of their Max Perks program. I usually have more than I can use. Send me an email at kristins@mm.com, and I can mail you one.
Great List! I linked to your site this week:)

SarahBeth–we do use a generic version as an insect repellent. We spray it around the area we are in too. For example around the playset, the driveway, or the baby’s stroller. It’s not as good as the regular bug spray…but it works. Saves a ton of money and it isn’t spraying chemicals all over my kids and baby.
Was at the Walgreens in Coon Rapids, (corner of University and Egret) today.
Getting my free Renpure Organics shampoo and conditioner, love the smell by the way!!
VERY nice cosmetics cashier comes up to me as I’m holding them and says,”come to the cosmetics counter check out, I have coupons for those”. She was SO helpful and sweet, trying to get me the best deal on what I was buying.
Just had to mention it.
