Unless we hear an announcement later this week, which is entirely possible, this would be the last week when coupons will be doubled on Saturdays, as that promotion is slated to end on July 31. My bet, although I could be wrong, is that they announce an extension to it mid-week. I hope I’m not wrong, as I have really enjoyed the opportunity to shop on the weekends. If you hear something official, not scuttlebutt from your cashier, please let us know.
Read the rules of coupon doubling before you go so you understand how to ensure you get your coupons doubled. Most stores have stopped doubling coupons that say “do not double” and corporate policy says that you cannot use a coupon for the free item in a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal. Although I wish I could, I cannot tell which coupons say “do not double.” Generally though, most printable coupons from General Mills brands (including Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Yoplait, etc.) say that.
If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.
Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list. As we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

This deal works out to $2.49/lb for the meat, which is above my buy price. I am not considering the value of the free ketchup, mustard and buns as I have picked up all three this summer for less than $1 total; that to say, their value is nominal in my opinion.

woodbury has a sign on their window that they extended double saturdays through september 26th, 2010. i saw this sign yesterday
i like knowing i can go on saturday if i miss wednesday.
The SLP store has a similar sign….Double Saturdays ending September 25th.
Wa hoo my store in NE WI too :) I kinda figured, but hey a good thing is a good thing.
Reach Dental Floss – there is one type for $1.29 & another for $1.79 – both are free with $1 doubled coupon.
The reg. price on the Dentyne is $1.19
Thanks, K!
Do we know if any Rainbows are accepting the Manuf. cpns from Walgreens or ? Last week on Saturday they wouldn’t take them at the Northtown Rainbow store MN. I know someone in FL experienced this as well with another cpn like that? Thanks
Recently i’ve been able to use RRs at the EP Cub Foods.
When I clicked on the link for the Marcal Napkins it said to Please check back for upcoming promotions and offers. Is there another link that might work?
I followed the link for the Tombstone pizza coupons, posted as directed, and did not get any coupons! Anyone else experience this?
do you know if Rainbow carries Oscar mayer “selects” beef franks? if yes and they are on sale, then there is a $1 off one coupon at
http://www.kraftbrands.com/goodmoodmission/#/section/save/offer/selects
The Rainbow at the Quarry does – they’re sort of the “premium” (i.e. higher priced) variety
The Selects aren’t included in the sale I’m guessing. Too pricey.
They are $4.39 a pack at my Rainbow.
I got a free pack with a coupon from First Taste last week.
selects are included.
Thanks, Tatiana!
I don’t know if this has been mentioned before but i spoke with a Rainbow rep regarding the fuel perks and that has been extended through Oct 2. Also, your perk $ is redeemable AFTER they discontinue the program once and for all, you do not have to rush out and redeem them by the final date, it just means you no longer can earn $.
Terri – thank you! I was wondering 1) if they had really ended the fuel perks and 2) if the earned points expired the same day. Good to know we don’t have to rush out and use them up!
Eagan had a sign that Saturdays is extended thru mid Sept( cant remember the exact date). Wednesdays is thru the end of the year.
Yep, I was going to say the same thing– Eagan store advertised Sat doubles thru end of September!
I didn’t know the Fuel Perks was ending. I’ll probably shop there less then, since they have been so anal retentive lately about printed manufacture coupons…
Does anyone else think that the coupons in the paper lately have been lame? The last two weeks especially, only about 10 coupon in the SS inserts..yuck!
They haven’t been anything to write home about…I’m using this time to “regroup” and clean up my coupons!
I agree–we’ve been using the last few weeks to do our own “eat from the pantry” challenge. Good thing we were stocked up!
Agreed — Most of the match ups the last couple of weeks seem to be more for printable coupons (which I’m bad about getting around to printing, have troubles printing, out of prints etc etc). I also think the sales have been pretty lame too. Nothing is calling me to run out and buy. Also, I think prices have gone up. It used to be pretty easy to get a lot of stuff free (ie $2.00 sale price with a $1 MQ). Now it seems like everything on sale is over $2.
I’ve only been using this website since January…I wonder if fewer deals/not as good of coupons are normal in the summer?? (especially sincce they don’t do coupon inserts on holiday weekends–maybe they think people are too busy in the summer to cut coupons??)
I’ve noticed that the coupons really pick up in the fall right before school starts and through the holidays. Tons more in the paper, double inserts (2 SS’s are common) and the inserts are thick!
Agreed, Amanda!
Wish they had FuelPerks in WI! I was told they aren’t in our area yet but can’t wait till they are someday!
We have fuelperks in Madison, WI at BP stations.
We also have fuel perks in Manitowoc WI – through BP
We have fuel perks in Janesville as well
I ran into the cashier who thought they were the coupon police Sat when I went to Rainbow. My normal cashier had a line a mile liong so I used a different one – what a mistake. It took literally 15 minutes to cash out from thime she received coupons to time I left- she read every coupon word for word and then matched to the item that the bagger had already bagged up. Come on lady – the coupon scans the coupon is good.
Really not sure if double coupons worth the hassle Rainbow – I hope you are monitoring the blog.
I purposefully went to a young guy’s line yesterday at the Rainbow in Bloomington, since I thought he’d be less likely to be so anal retentive, and he was. : ) He looked at all the printed coupons, but briefly – probably just a tad longer than they used to. The last time I was there, the woman took so long looking at my coupons and showing them to other people, and there were about 6 people lined up behind me! I felt bad about that, but I couldn’t do anything about it.
Also having much more “coupon hassle” at RB these days too– went to Cub the other day and breezed thru with internet BOGO’s cupons and other types that wouldn’t make it at RB!
I had surgery in April and been too tired to go through the hassle of coupon police at Rainbow. Started shopping at Cub, which I used to not like, but they are so much better about not being “anal retentive” about coupons. It’s funny how I went from mostly Rainbow to mostly Cub. But, i must say I am glad to be in town where I have 6 choices (2 Cubs, a Rainbow, an Aldi, Festival, Super Targe and Target Greatland).
I have similar choices… Isn’t choice great, and I think it keeps the prices lower than towns without so many options.
I had 1 $1.00 off printed coupon at cub and the lady was like a freak about it and had to go ask a manager n everything! I was like really $1.00? it had the proper water marks and everything! they took it.
is this Kristi S? :)
The SLP Rainbow has a sign posted near the timeclock (next to customer service)
It shows what the cashier should be looking for (watermark) on internet coupons.
I was happy to read that the manager states that he wants all cashiers to become uniform with the store’s coupon policy.
i saw the same sign at my rainbow as well!
Does a manufacturer still reimburse a store for a coupon without a watermark, or is that just the Rainbow policy?
The reason I ask is because I just realized I have one printer that is set on fast print to save ink; it doesn’t print the watermark, my other printer does.
I’d much rather print with less ink, but wanted to make sure the manufacturer will reimburse the store.
Organic valley milk coupon is now only $.75/gallon
The Deli Creation coupon is gone. The Purnia Busy Chews is also gone.Yes the coupon have been lame..
There’s a coupon for Mott’s Apple Juice on the Meijer Mealbox site (you can reach it from the PYD coupon database) for $1 off 2, 64 oz. With the coupon from this weeks ad, where you can buy up to 2 for $1.58 each, you’ll end up paying $.58 each on a double day.
Just realized that there’s a DND on the coupon. Also, it doesn’t have a watermark, so we’ll see if Rainbow will take it.
I have a $1/1 morning star product from the kelloggs cereal boxes a while back that had the “$5 off breakfast coupons” inside HTH
I agree with the girls above. The deals are few and far between the last few weeks. The other day I had to pick up a prescription at WAGs and walked around for 15 minutes gasping at the prices of everything and only walking out with my medicine. It was a bizarre experience to say the least. I thought my problem might be that I have too many razors, shampoo and feminine products, but now I dont think so. So glad I stock piled now! Even my once large Kleenex/Puffs stack is almost gone.
Just a reminder that Byerly’s has Edy’s ice cream for $1.77, but I think there sales end on Wednesday, so good through tomorrow. Their price for that ice cream is usually over $5 (which I wouldn’t pay), and this is pretty good since Rainbow doesn’t appear to have any great sales on ice cream this week.
Shelly – Not sure if someone’s mentioned this already, but the Lunds/Byerly’s ice cream deal has been extended through next Wednesday, 8/4. Yay!
Thanks, Laura! I actually did mention it and I think someone else did on that special post you did about some good deals of the week. I’m especially glad because I made a special stop to get my 4th Edy’s at Byerlys the other night (I just bought 3 the first time). This morning, I discovered that my 14 year old son and his friends had polished off an entire container. This is certainly no big feat for four 14 year old boys : ) but you can imagine my unhappiness to see that a 2nd container was sitting out unopened and had been left out all night. Life with teenage boys is always an adventure, and I’m grateful for the good deals for the junk food that keeps them at our house : )
There is also a $1/1 coupon for Ronzoni Smart Taste in the August issue of Family Fun!
Still wondering on the change of policy for Rainbow and Walgreens Register Rewards. I know Cub takes them with no problem and just last week Rainbow stopped? Any updates on why they are no longer doing that or is it just the Rainbow by Northtown, Blaine, MN?
My lists have been shorter or not at all for some stores recently so either I have finally have a back up or deals aren’t as good (or I am missing deals?).
I haven’t seen much to write home about either. I do have a stockpile of a number of things and with the garden starting to really produce that’s lessening the trips too.
Dawn – I honestly have no idea what the latest it. I’ve heard that my Cub and Rainbow stores (in Maple Grove) don’t take them anymore, but I went to Cub just last week and the cashier took it just fine. We need to look into this and get back to everyone, but it seems as if the policies are in flux (yet again) and differ from store to store.
Does anyone know if Folgers Black Silk brand is included in the Rainbow $6.99 sale?
Thanks!
FYI – Black Silk is included in the $6.99 Folgers coffee sale.
There was a $1.00 off coupon a few weeks back (can’t remember which insert) that when doubled = $4.99
I thought this was a pretty good price……..
I can’t find the Tropicana coupon! Is it gone already?
Thanks!
Is Rainbow doubling 5 or 10 coupons this week??
Just the usual 5 this week
The SLP West End Rainbow had Baby Butter Beans (canned) for 50% off “while supplies last”. I think that made them 42 cents per can. Also some Pedigree dog treats were 50% off, and I wish I had brought a coupon. Pedigree “Good Bites” for $1.65. Roundys Bagels were $1 – maybe that’s in the ad, but I didn’t know until I got there.
There is a $1/1 coupon for the Pedigree Good Bites in the 6/20Red Plum making this a money-maker if it on sale at your store!
Just a heads up that last week I got a catalina coupon for $1 of Silk soy milk. This will be nice to use this week. I think it’s because I bought the Blue Diamond Almond milk last week.
I got that as well, Neil, although mine was for Silk almond milk. Is yours different? When I was there today, I found that the Silk almond wasn’t on sale – only the soy. So, I’m glad I had also brought the 75 cent coupon for Silk soy!!
Heh. You posted, nearly to the word, my exact experience! Still a great price for Silk soy!
ah thx for the update on the Silk coupon. I was just about ready to go out and do my weekly shopping. I’ll grab the $0.75 coupon as well. :)
FYI, the B2GO on cereals is for family size ones only and the only try it free box I could see at MG Rainbow was on the Simply Cinnamon Corn Flakes, which also produced a $1/1 cat. The Family size Corn Flakes still had the $5 off breakfast. The Yo-Plus is 2.69 so 2 for 1.69 by the time you double a $.50 coupon. They are 4 oz. cups so around 21 cents per cup.
The last time Bullfrog was BOGO, a lot of the packages had $1.00 off coupons around the necks.
They do! Hopefully this will do us for the summer for sun screen :-)
Frank’s RedHot Sauce, 4 oz., is free after doubling the $1 off coupon in the latest SmartSource.
Thanks, Erik!
The 4 oz. bottle is only $1.25. The 12 oz. bottle is $2.49, so if that ever goes on sale it would be pretty cheap or maybe even free w/ a doubled coupon.
Use daninio cupon printabe on website $1/1 on six pack on sale this week for 2/$4, free after coupon double!!
I had a young cashier at Rainbow during the dinner rush – but he doubled all my coupons. In fact. I got the Wacky Mac free because he just scanned it. Something to be said about the younger cashiers. Also, no matter how anal retentive they are at RB, I won’t shop at Cub. They do not help unload, bag or load car, even when I have all 3 kids.
Did anyone do the Quaker deal? (Buy 5 at $10, get free milk) I have a stack of $1/1 and $1/2 Quaker product coupons I have from the boxes of Quaker oatmeal I purchased earlier in the year. Just wondering if the boxes or cereal and granola bars ring up at regular price before the store card is scanned or if they ring up at $2 each. I’m curious b/c it makes a difference how much more I should plan to buy for fillers to my $25. :)
I did the Quaker deal… all the products range up at $2, and in the Bloomington Rainbow the products were well marked in the isle. The milk coupon is on the bottom of the receipt.
Carrie and company,
In all your *free time* would it be possible for you to start a list on some household staples and what is a good range of prices for them? That’s one of my favorite parts of this site is Carrie’s comments in the lists on what her *buy* price is. If this were a separate list, readers of all the shopping lists could reference it in one, static place.
Thanks for all your work!
Libby – We actually have a target list of rock bottom prices here. It’s not complete and should probably be updated as we’ve seen some variation in prices over the past few months, but it’s a good place to start. Carrie and I both encourage people to create their own lists, as well, as some people are more brand-loyal than others and have different weekly needs for their families.
Exactly what I was looking for! A great start. Thanks.
Clicked on the printable link for Ball Canning Discovery Kit and the coupon is not there. Does anyone know where I can find it?
I bought 3 morning star products and I got this catalina printout:
Buy any 10 Kelloggs, Keebler, Sunshine, Eggo, and /or Morningstar Farms products (3.8 oz or larger, any flavor, mix or match) in one shopping order between 8/1/10 and 8/18/10 and save $10 on a future order with coupon.
HTH!
Thanks, Amanda!! I can totally use that.
where do you find the link to print the stouffers coupon ?
