Rainbow Foods, Copps, Pick N Save Shopping List 7/11 – 7/17/10

This deal has expired and may no longer be valid.

This Wednesday Rainbow Foods will double 10 manufacturer-issued coupons when you meet the criteria when you meet the rules for coupon doubling. Are Copps and Pick N Save doubling 10 coupons on Wednesday as well?

Read the rules of coupon doubling before you go so you understand how to ensure you get your coupons doubled. Most stores have stopped doubling coupons that say “do not double” and corporate policy says that you cannot use a coupon for the free item in a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal. Although I wish I could, I cannot tell which coupons say “do not double.” Generally though, most printable coupons from General Mills brands (including Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Yoplait, etc.) say that.

If you shop at Copps and your ad doesn’t match the items mentioned in this shopping list, then check out what we saw for sales last week.

Two things to remember about this list of deals. First, it does not include every sale-priced item that has a coupon. It only has those items whose final price is low enough for us to mention it. Second, it is a starting list. As we learn of more deals whose final price is low enough we will update this list. Items that are added throughout the week will be noted as NEW. Items whose final price changes as a result of a new or modified coupon scenario will be noted as UPDATED. At least once this week we will send out a reminder to come back and check this list for the hottest new deals.

Comments

  1. SC says:

I was at rainbow last night and the Cinnabon ceareal is not included in the $1.99 Kellogg’s deal.

  2. BILL says:

The johnsonville brat coupon is for a 3 lb. box. The one on sale must be the 1 lb package, correct?

  3. Surina says:

The Shawano, WI Pick ‘n Save is also doubling 10 coupons on Wednesday. :-)

  4. Shelly says:

Does anyone know if Nutri-grain bars are included in the Kelloggs sale (I know they aren’t mentioned in the ad, but sometimes they include a wide variety of products)

    • Evalcorek says:

At our local Copps store the Nutri-Gran bars were not included in the $1.99 sale but they were on sale for $2.69 – so you can still use the .75/1 – doubled and get a box for $1.19 – not the best price I’ve seen but if you’re out like we are $1.19 is not bad.

      • Shelly says:

Thanks! I guess I can still hope they’re included at our Rainbow, but doesn’t sound too hopeful!

  5. Lisa ** says:

Heads up – There’s an Eat Better America rebate that started 07/11/10 ends 07/30/10, I beleive. The rebate appears to be sent to anyone on their mailing list and you have to be able to print off a form with a barcode from that email. It’s spend $30 get $15 back. There’s a list of products that are eligible……Check your emails everyone!

    • jen says:

So what are some good deals/coupons to make this rebate even sweeter?

      • Carrie Rocha says:

I didn’t get the rebate form (something weird with my email) so if someone can send it to me or email me the details, then I’m happy to look at how to put together some deals.

      • jen says:
        • Lisa ** says:

Thanks Jen. My email is printed at home and saved on that computer so I couldn’t access any of the dates/products from here but wanted to post it before I forgot to let everyone know.

        • Jessica Schnake says:

Do you know when you got the email? I don’t ever recall getting one. Thanks!

          • Maryellen says:

I got the email on the 9th. My email says purchases must be made between the 9th and the 23rd of July. Not many things on sale this week that are on the list. (As far as I can tell). Maybe next week will be better.

        • Jenn B says:

I didn’t receive this email either and the link to this rebate doesn’t show the “barcode” that Lisa said needed to be on the form. So I’m assuming we can’t use this rebate form unless we were an original recipient of the email (see the fine print of the link at the bottom)? I just don’t want to go through all the hastle of the rebate if it won’t work. Any thoughts??

          • Maryellen says:

Yes, if you didn’t get the email you can’t do it. It says “This promotion is only for pre-selected consumers who were the original recipients of the valued subscriber email.”

  6. Mary says:

Milwaukee Area pick’n save are doubling 10 this Wed too. We are on last weeks sale schedule till Thursday.

  7. Jennifer says:

Last night, I scouted things at Rainbow to prep for my Wed. trip. The BIC Soleil Disposable Razors were $6.15 or so (I don’t remember to the penny but under $6.25). CVS had them marked down to $5 and you could use the $3 off. The bogo at Rainbow will be a good deal, I think at about .37 a razor.:)

    • JoannaV says:

These are my favorite razors, but if you wait you can get them free. Rainbow often has them for $3, as does Walgreens.

  8. Erica says:

There is also a $1/1 Kahki printable coupon at coupons.com and it doesn’t say do not double so it would be only $0.50 each!

  9. Cara says:

I wasn’t able to find the Nestle’s coupon with the link provided. Is it working for anyone else?

    • Mary says:

I found the Nestle coupon, it was a few clicks.

Log in or create an account, then
Click on special offers, then click on who would you bake for, then click special offers again.

      • Maryellen says:

Thanks for the help finding it. That is insane trying to find it, but what I found is 2 coupons. The one for $1.00 off is for refrigerated cookie dough not the morsels. There is a .50 off 2 for the morsels.

        • Cara says:

I found that one too, but as you mentioned it’s for $0.50/2. I wasn’t able to find the $1/2 that Carrie mentioned. It looks like the promo with that coupon has ended.

  10. SarahBeth says:

My Rainbow used to always carry the Marcal napkins and I’d often get them free when they went on sale for $2 – but this last week when they were on sale I could not find them at my store. It is like they stopped carrying them. I found this very strange and was disappointed. Does anyone know of a Rainbow that still carries these??

  11. Denise says:

I got them at the Coon Rapids one last week.

  12. Sarah says:

Anyone think the Fresh Pork Shoulder Butt Steak or Roast for $1.99/lbs is a good price? I think I might pick one up and do a batch of pulled pork regardless. (Might go well with the $0.67 KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce!)

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Sarah – I did notice that and do think it is a good deal. I know Sam’s Club sells it cheaper, if you or a friend has a membership. We are almost out of our pulled pork from the shoulder I bought this spring, so I’ll get this and then cook, shred and freeze it. We add the BBQ sauce after defrosting it.

      • Kristi says:

sam’s might of went up, I know the ribs did and I was very bummed, they use to be $1.67/lb, now well over $2. but do not recall actual cost, just our usually splurge went up about $10+ a package, so glad target did the $1.49 sale before the 4th we stocked up!

    • Kim says:

Question: I noticed Target has turkey breast on sale for 0.98/lb. Has anyone tried the same recipe for pulled pork with this? I was thinking of trying it…should be yummy!

      • Tonya says:

Kim, I do that a lot with Turkey breasts, I cook them in the oven in one of those oven bags and season it with Montreal Chicken seasoning (schilling?) it is good plain (with the montreal seasoning)or with BBQ sauce..I shred it and it freezes really well once cooked and is a great quick meal.

  13. Mark says:

    Cats Pride Cat litter
Normal price $2.19 for the small bag
Use 1.00/1 any size 7/11 SS
    = .19 OP if doubled

    • Karie says:

I was at Blaine this morning and all the Cat’s Pride Litter is marked down. I did not see any small regular litter bags for $2 something. I did see plastic trays with liter in it. They were $2.39 and I believe you could use the $1/1 cpn on it. Anyways, I bought a couple 14lb scoopables that were reg. $6.55 for $2.80 after double cpns. I thought this was a good deal.

  14. Lisa Buettner says:

The Suave $1/2 coupon is out of prints – you don’t find out til after you wasted 5 min filling out their demographics form and product survey. Gotta love that!

  15. Lisa Buettner says:

I’m confused on the BOGO’s – the Shedd spread has a comment about store policy prohibits using a coupon on the free item. Does that mean that the Gogurt won’t work if the coupons are $.75/2 if I buy two and one is free?

  16. Sarah says:

Just a note on the Morton System Saver salt…you need to buy 5 to get the 5/$20 (all other purchases are $5 ea…) So not as good of a deal as I initially thought…

    • SarahBeth says:

Thanks! That will affect my list as well. Think it might be better to go to Cub this week for water softner salts with in-ad coupon.

    • jo says:

      Isn’t $4 a good price – I have $1/2 coupons – doubled make it $3 so I think I will stock up – even tho only a 40# bag.

      • SarahBeth says:

Yes, $4 a bag is a good price – $3 is even better! But if you were only planning on only using one coupon and buying two bags Sarah is telling us that you HAVE to buy 5 in order to get them for $4 each. I was not planning on spending $20 on softner salts this week so it will change my Rainbow list accordingly. I think they are also on sale at Cub this week and you are not required to buy 5.

  17. Kate says:

Anyone know whether Copp’s in Madison, WI will be doing 10 doubled coupons this wednesday? Otherwise I’ll give them a call.

  18. Jenny says:

    Softsoap coupon is not working!

  19. Dawn says:

Johnsonville Brats (selected 16-20oz varieties) $3.99
Use $1.50/1 from 5/2 Smart Source insert
    Final price: $2.49 after coupon

Each week that these are one sale, we are being told to use this coupon. The coupon is for a THREE pound package, not the ONE pound. I am wondering hoe many people use it even though it says it is for 3 pounds. :(

    • Laura Wales says:

Dawn – Thanks for the heads up. The coupon database that we use to put the lists together says “19.76oz,” but I just checked my 5/2 Smart Source insert and saw that the actual wording is for the 3lb package. I’ll pass this on to Carrie and fix the list.

  20. Leann says:

I entered the contest for the KC Masterpiece but didn’t see any coupon. The page went to some awards show and then to Keith Urbans site. Did I miss something?

  21. Susan says:

Rainbow also gives you .05 off each reuseable bag you bring in.

  22. Melissa says:

The Kozy Shack pudding is $3.45 for either the tub or the 6 pack. There are no more prints for the Sunny D…

  23. Corrie says:

Grande Tortilla Chips are on sale at our local (Manitowoc County) Copps & Pick n Save for $2.50 and in the 4/18 SS there is a $1.00 off coupon making them $.50 a bag after doubling…just a FYI
We go through so many bags during the summer and this is even cheaper than Aldi’s @ $.99

  24. cynthia says:

corrie-thanks for the heads up on the Grande chips..the kids love them . Been buying them at target for 2.00 – 1.00 coupon = 1.00 chips but I like 50 cetns better :-)

  25. Brenda says:

No more Hellmen’s mayo prints left.

  26. Jen says:

HI! anyone know where to get the BOGO coupon for Head and Shoulders shampoo?

    • Lisa ** says:

07/11/10 SS. If you’re a CVS shopper it might be a better deal with ECB this week. Buy 1 at 4.99 get $2 ECB. So about 1.50 per bottle there.

  27. Hope says:

I was at my PNS tonight to scope out the deals…the only thing that I really wanted to get was the cat liter, but they are all out. I know I can get a rain check on liter (ours was on sale for 2.39, not the 2.19 price), but do you think they would honor the “double double” coupons another day once they get the product in? In other words, do you think I could get a “rain check” on the 10 coupon day also??? I wanted to see what everyone else thinks before I go and talk to a manager tomorrow…

    • Toni says:

I’m reasonably sure that they would tell you “no”, and to come back on a double coupon day if you want your coupons doubled. If I understand where you’re going with that train of thought, though, you could always do two transactions, and supplement with gift cards to make the minimum threshold. (Try Roundy’s cards, so you can turn around and use them on your next purchase…or any card that you know you’d use anyway.)

  28. Mark says:

I have 2 of the following coupons.

Save $1.00 on old El Paso Refried Beans when you buy any 2 old elpaso products.

the refried beans are .99 this week will this coupon still double?

Do I need 2 or 3 cans to make it double?

    Any help would be appreciated…

    • Kierstien says:

what i have noticed at my rainbow is that the coupon will double up to the shelf price amount so if beans are normally say $1.50/can the coupon will take off $1.50 but if the beans are normally say $2.04 the coupon will take off $2.00 hope this makes sense!

      • Mark says:

I did this today, The coupons were peelies on other items bought 4-old el paso spices 4-3.00 and 4 cans of refried beans @ .99 each. used 2 coupons and both doubled so free refried beans and 4-spice mixes for 2.98 Not the worst…

  29. Kristina says:

    Deal Alert! Kellogg’s Cinnabon Cereal!

At my rainbow (Brooklyn Park) they have specially marked boxed for “Try it Free, after mail in rebate.” A 10oz box was $2.69. I used a $1.00 off coupon that got doubled and then I will submit the whole $2.69 for a rebate. Awesome deal if you don’t already have the full 10 coupons allowed for doubling this week.

    Hey there,

If you want to maximize your gogurt purchase lookup gogurt coupons and go to the “yoplait” website and there is a link at the bottom of the page for a coupon for trying gogurt. I printed it out twice and the coupons are for $1 and don’t say “do not double”. Hope this helps someone else. My kids love them and they are great when frozen.

    Whitney

    • Leann says:

Gone already. What printed for me was a .50/1 Yoplait kids cup. The link said $1 off GoGurt but that is not what printed.

    • Stacey says:

Thank you. I got 2 of the $ off of one. Now can I use 2 of these coupons on the BOGO free purchase. I am guessing not, but thought I would check

My first bad trip to rainbow, they were out of the cinnibon cereal and told me somthing about a recall and the selves were wiped out of the olive oil, that was cottage grove so a called west st.paul and lakeville they both said they were out also but knew nothing of a recall on the Cinnibon? did anyone find the cereal n olive oil at their store? my list was built on these things so I had to leave empty handed today,,but good news is Cottage grove does have the kitty litter trays for $2.39 so .39 after doubles and they seemed to have alot.for anyone whos looking.

  34. Jennifer says:

I’m trying to plan options because I think they will be out of several things we need by the time I can get to Rainbow tonight (like olive oil:(). I’m grateful for rainchecks! For some reason, I couldn’t find the Cat’s pride coupon in my Smart Source. If anyone need’s the dollar off, I found it on their website. http://www.catspride.com/

  35. Rebekah L. says:

I noticed that Budweiser Barbecue Sauce was on sale for 2/$4. Plus, I had a coupon for $1/2 (it was in one of the June inserts, couldn’t tell you which though). Normally, $1 for a bottle of BBQ sauce is an ok deal but not great. Since it was a new product, I decided to “splurge” and I’m glad that I did. At the checkout, I received a $2.50 catalina for each bottle, so two $2.50 catalinas for a future purchase. I don’t know if this is happening at every store but it did at the Pick’n'Save on Murdock in Oshkosh, WI.

  36. Shelly says:

Carrie/Laura – I hope it’s okay if I post this on the Rainbow ad comments because so many people are looking here today. I was just so thrilled and wanted to share – I was at the Edina SuperTarget wishing to get a Flat-iron steak for a decent price knowing that meant a small one. I was thrilled to find that many of them had peelie coupons for $2.50 off. Some said $2.00 off, so you got to choose between saving $2.50 or $2.00 on that meat purchase. It said you had to have the cashier remove. Maybe it’s on other steaks and meats as well – sorry I didn’t think to look until I had left. It made my meat almost 1/2 price.

New Mega Savings coupon book in the mail today – make sure to check in between all the red plum and other junk mail that you get. Good the 15th through the 28th.

  38. Erin says:

Special K still has a $1/1 coupon for their Low Fat Granola Cereal on their website (found on the PYD coupon database!) that can be doubled making 5 boxes free if you can get to 3 computers to print them off of. I have 2 computers, so I only had to pay for 1 of the 5 boxes. Not bad!

  39. sue says:

The Woodbury Rainbow did not have any Grande Chips that I could find. Anyone have any luck finding them? I got a rainchecj for the olive oil.

    • Mary says:

They didn’t have any in Bloomington either.

    • Christina says:

I looked all over for these at the Chaska Rainbow and even asked – but they don’t carry them. And then I checked the ad, and they weren’t in the ad either. I wonder if this is something specific to pick n save?

  40. Teresa McCracken says:

Hey Carrie (or anyone else for that matter) :) ,
Has anyone heard any scuttlebutt about Rainbow not taking ANY internet coupons in the near future? The cashier I had today informed me (with a bit of an attitude, wow…) that they were discontinuing allowing ANY internet coupons very soon. Just wondering if any of you’all have heard the same. Thanx!

    • Carrie Rocha says:

Teresa – I haven’t heard that and would doubt it as their last revision of their coupon policy actually broadened the types of internet coupons they accept since they need to do that to remain competitive.

    • JulieVW says:

The SLP store would not accepting my internet printed coupons either. The cashier said that anything printed off the internet was not valid unless it had a watermark.

  41. Kathy says:

The solo plates and cups are on special for $1.99 reg $2.69 and there is a $1/1 coupon in the 6/20 SS making them free after double coupon. These were on a big specially marked display in the main store aisle – not marked on the shelves.

  42. Pj says:

I was at mg rainbow and felt like I got carded! They wouldn’t allow two coupons for two items of the same-like it was an Internet coupon that I printed twice. That happened on two different items. They are watching for the same number above the bar code. I am getting discouraged with couponing because it makes one feel like I’m trying to cheat when I thought I was on the up and up.:(

  43. hp says:

Kraft Deli Deluxe cheese is on sale 2 for $4. There is a $1 off coupon right by the packages making them free after doubled coupons!

  44. nick says:

I went to the Rainbow on Lake Streeet tonight to get the double coupon deals, and at the checkout the cashier told me that they were no longer accepting any internet coupons. Bummed me out, I was going to pick up what i thought was about $20 oop and the total came to about $40, I plan on calling tomorrow just to double check, but I feel like a bait and switch when they advertise double coupons then have restrictions that arent in their corporate coupon policy, anyone else have a similar problem.

One thing I noticed is I think the the cashier tried to scan the coupon first and it didnt scan which mine usually never do, usually they have to be hand keyed in, anyone else have this problem, i suspect it may be my printer.

    • katie says:

I was at the Lake St. Rainbow last night and had not problem with my internet coupons and got a bunch or rainchecks too since they were out of a lot of the stuff I went for. (And also, I met another PYDer there who shared a tip with me. Thanks!) My coupons had no problems scanning.

    • JoannaV says:

First of all I would have asked to see a manager and if they didn’t take my coupons, I would have taken back my coupons and cancelled the order. I go for the good deals and if I don’t get them, I’ll go somewhere else (even a different Rainbow). Sometimes my printed coupons don’t scan and other times they do. I think it depends on how dark the ink is and how clean or dirty the scanner glass is. Better luck next time.

  45. Channa says:

I was in the rainbow bloomington and they had Glade sense and sprays on discount for $4.64 and in the sundays ss they had $3 q so $1.64 thats the apple cinnamon the other are on sale for $4.99

  46. Whitney Kay says:

For those who where wondering about the policy of $25 threshold for doubling coupons I found the fine print on it printed on the Rainbow weekly flyer. It states that the total has to be $25 after “store” coupons, but before taxes. You just need to watch the “in-store” coupons and split them between orders.

Hope this clarification helps those out there.

Long live the pocketeers & couponista’s!

  47. Whitney Kay says:

I know everyone has been talking about the Filippo Berio olive oil being out of stock, but there is another option. The Pompeian Olive oil is $4.59 and there is a $1.00 Q at this link: http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/operations/offers/Pompeian/PompeianCoupons.html and it will double making the final price $2.59.

Also, you can get some Pompeian Red Wine Vinegar w/the BOGO deal and also the $1.00 Q that will double. I think the price is around $4.59 like the olive oil. So you can get 2 for final price of around $2.59. You can find the vinegar Q at the same site.

Hope this helps you guys out.

  48. Whitney Kay says:

    Ann,

I know that K-mart is offering upto $10 in gift cards for new or transfered perscriptions right now. You do need to have a Shop Your Way Rewards card (throught the strore) for you to get the gift cards, but it doesn’t cost much and can earn you rewards and X2, X3 on offers weekly.

Hope this helps. I do all mine stuff there because it is just right down the road from my apt.

  49. Whitney Kay says:

There are peelies for $1/2 Dove choco 8.5 oz bags on bags at Wal-mart in Coon Rapids. They are a pretty good price to get the peelies for the Rainbow deal. You can double them and they are good till end of Dec this year.
